About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.

The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must deeply understand how to reduce the violence that affects young people. We then have to make this information highly relevant and accessible to the people making decisions for vulnerable young people. In practice, this means we need to find out what works and what doesn’t through high quality qualitative and quantitative research into children’s lives. We then must convert this into really accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations (like schools, councils, police forces and more) can change what they do, how the systems have to change. We then need to work with and inspire those making decisions. Together, we believe we can change things permanently for children.

At the heart of this work is our new Area Leaders Programme. It provides support to local councils on what they can do in their towns and cities to change things. To work, the sessions need to be brilliantly designed with great materials and really well delivered. This is where you come in.

About the Area Leaders Programme

The Area Leaders Programme (ALP) brings together local partnerships in a town or a city to better protect children from being drawn into violence. These partnerships often include the police, youth justice services, children’s services, health, education, youth and community organisations.

We aim to do this by supporting areas to develop the five Ps of violence prevention:

• Partnerships: Build strong, accountable partnerships with clear roles, governance, and measurable goals.
• Profile: Understand the local drivers, context, and patterns of serious violence.
• People: Identify the children most at risk and ensure they get the right support at the right time.
• Places: Pinpoint high-risk locations and take action to make them safer.
• Practice: Share and apply best practice consistently across all key agencies.

About the role

As Senior Designer and Facilitator, you’ll play a vital role in shaping how ALP supports local partnerships. You’ll help turn evidence into practical action by designing engaging workshops, tools and resources that help professionals plan and work together more effectively. You will also take a leading role in facilitating active and inspiring workshops.

You’ll work closely with the ALP Change Lead, Senior Manager, our delivery partners and the wider Change team to make sure we’re constantly improving the support we offer.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Delivery

• Design creative, evidence-informed workshop plans and activities.
• Facilitate engaging workshops, both online and in person.
• Create visual tools that make complex ideas clear and easy to understand.
• Incorporate the voices and experiences of young people into ALP workshops.
• Develop and test tools that support areas to map local services, referral pathways and gaps in provision.
• Develop creative approaches to problem solving.

Collaboration and Support

• Work closely with local partnerships to help them identify challenges, opportunities and practical next steps, including creating local action plans.
• Support partnerships to navigate complexity and implement plans in the context of complex systems.
• Work as part of a collaborative, learning-oriented team, helping us continually refine our approach.

Learning and Improvement

• Capture insights from workshops and feed them back into improving the programme.
• Use design thinking to support other parts of YEF’s change work where needed.

You must have significant experience in:

• A relevant design discipline, this could be service design, systems design, speculative design, policy design or a similar field.
• Applying design skills to address social purpose and/or inequalities.
• Workshop facilitation with participants from diverse professional backgrounds.

Ideally you will also have this sort of experience (but it’s not necessary to apply):

• A formal qualification in a relevant area of design, or applying design for social purpose, or relevant experience.
• First-hand knowledge of the system that supports highly vulnerable children, particularly those at risk of or involved in violence. You understand the barriers these children face and what it takes to get them the right support.

While it’s not a criterion, we’re especially interested to hear from applicants who have lived experience of youth violence.

Hybrid Working Details

What you'll be doing

The National Society for Education is seeking an inspiring and visionary leader to head its Growing Faith and Young Leaders workstream - a strategic post within our Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This dynamic role will shape and deliver key national initiatives including the Growing Faith Foundation, FLOURISH Network of Worshipping Communities, and a suite of leadership programmes such as the Archbishops' Young Leaders Award, Flourishing Young Leaders, and Young Voices at General Synod.

Summary of main responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across our core Growing Faith workstream, managing senior team leads and national programme heads
• Strategically overseeing the implementation of leadership development programmes for adult and young leaders of mission and ministry with children and young people within the FLOURISH movement
• Develop long-term strategic partnerships with diocese, school trust, school/college and church leaders to enable the effective embedding of FLOURISH, Growing Faith Foundation, and Young Leaders programmes at all levels
• Champion safeguarding excellence and spiritual leadership through inclusive practices and worship

• Embed a culture of faith-led partnership between church, school and household
• Oversee the national rollout of FLOURISH communities - aiming for 450 sites by 2030

About Scripture Union    

You might have heard of us before if you're one of the 1.5 million+ who have attended one of our Christian holidays or missions over the years, or maybe you're one of the 40,000+ subscribers to have used our brilliant devotionals or been stirred by our exceptional bible resources. About our team   

Like many jobs, you will work with lots of different teams in different contexts. With this role, you will have the benefit of being part of regionally focused team of 7 that is part of our wider movement.   

The successful candidate will be a part of our Central Region team of 7 workers who between us work across a region, from Suffolk to Gloucestershire, up to Shropshire, to Lincolnshire. Job Title: Trainee or Qualified Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) with an interest in working with children and young people (aged 16 - 25) who are at high risk of serious harm from domestic abuse

Locality: Oxfordshire

Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 depending on experience

Hours of work: 37 hrs per week

Notice: 2 calendar months 1 month during the Probationary period. Probationary 6 months

Accountable to: Service Manager of Reducing the Risk of Domestic Abuse, CEO ultimately the Board of Trustees

Context of post

Reducing the Risk of Domestic Abuse is a company and charity set up to:

• provide inclusive services that reduce the risk of domestic abuse and promote the safety, choices and welfare of those affected
• enhance awareness of the nature and prevalence of domestic violence and help to foster good practice and an integrated multi integrated approach.
• This post holder will be in the high-risk team and be managed by the Service Manager with support from the Senior IDVA.
• A structured training and induction programme is in place to ensure new staff members are knowledgeable, confident and comfortable with the role.
• After 6 months of experience, the applicant will attend the Safelives IDVA training.
• Workload will be adjusted and study time will be given for attendance at training.
• Salary will be uplifted on successful completion of the course.

Function

The first priority of the charity is to provide an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor Service for the county. The post holder will be a member of the IDVA team and provide a pro-active service to victims of domestic violence to keep them safe and promote their wellbeing. They will use their skills to assess the risk a client is in, deliver a service appropriate to the level of risk and have a particular focus on providing an intensive service to those at high risk. The post holder will have the skills to act as lead professional, working to ensure an integrated service and co-ordinating multi agency work to keep people safe, in addition to working with victims and signposting to other services.

Responsibilities:

• Work as part of the Oxfordshire IDVA team to provide pro-active service and advice to victims at high risk of harm from domestic abuse to keep them and their children safe
• Risk assess and deliver service in keeping with the result
• Undertake safety planning with clients
• Develop individual service plans to meet the specific risks clients face
• Where relevant also support victims in their role as primary carers for their children
• Manage a caseload
• Maintain and update records of all cases
• Keep other relevant services informed about important changes in client’s situation
• Support clients through the criminal justice system, explaining the procedures and their role and rights within that system
• Ensure that clients are immediately informed of any CJS developments and advised on any aspect affecting their safety
• Explain housing, civil and criminal legal options to clients
• Ensure that clients access the services to which they are entitled
• Refer on and arrange meetings with other agencies/services as necessary e.g. solicitors, benefit agencies, etc.
• Note and feedback to other agencies any consistent difficulties clients are having accessing their service
• Help clients develop their own support network
• Follow procedures and protocols so that the safety of the clients is kept central to any process
• Ensure Reducing the Risk fulfils its responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children

The Role:

The Data Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end processing of all supporter and organisational data. This includes the set-up and management of systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across multiple sources, and preparing information to support financial reporting. The role holder will also ensure the effective use of Salesforce CRM and other connected systems, while enabling teams across the organisation to use data to drive insight and impact.

This role will report into the Head of Operations and Strategy, providing guidance on data management, systems improvements and organisational effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

Data Management & Processing:

• Manage the end-to-end flow of supporter and organisational data across all systems.

About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. The Role

As Head of Finance and Contracts, you’ll oversee all aspects of financial management and contractual compliance across the charity. The National Society for Education (NSE) is both an NCI and a Royal-charter charity. It's aims are to support Church schools and the wider education sector by developing leaders, shaping policy and growing faith.

You will be joining a dedicated team of 9 staff and over 40 volunteers, working for a well-respected grassroots charity. As individuals and an organisation, we are committed to welcoming, supporting and empowering refugees and people seeking asylum who live in the borough of Knowsley.

This role will require you to enjoy communicating with new and existing volunteers and have good organizational skills. You will also support the wider organization – especially the casework and community work, so an awareness of this is helpful.

The post is currently 3 days/week, with the opportunity to work flexibly across the week, but would require work on Monday and Tuesday mornings. Please read on to get an idea of the role and who we are looking for.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The purpose of this post is to support an established team of volunteers and recruit and train new volunteers. 1. Provide support for volunteers (15%)

• Ensure regular and effective communication with volunteers via a variety of methods: e-mail, letters, newsletters, meetings, telephone, etc.

2. Coordinating volunteer activities (25%)

Royal Star & Garter are a charity that provides loving, compassionate care and support to veterans and their families, both in our Homes and through services that reach into the wider community. Following our recent merger with the Armed Forces charity Care for Veterans in Worthing, we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Fundraising Assistant.

We are looking for someone committed to making a difference to our work and interested in developing a career in fundraising. We welcome experience gained outside the charity sector and are committed to supporting learning and development in this role.

This person must be passionate about delivering high levels of personalised care to a range of donors and have the ability to communicate effectively, while maintaining attention to detail to ensure the smooth delivery of the processes behind donor engagement. You must also be flexible and confident in providing wider support across the fundraising teams within the Royal Star & Garter group.

This is a hybrid role, with two days a week at our Worthing Home to build strong relationships and gain a deeper understanding of our work. There may also be occasional visits to outside events and to Royal Star & Garter’s other Homes as needed.

Purpose of the role

- To provide excellent customer care to all donors, delivering optimum supporter journeys working effectively with the wider team within the Royal Star & Garter (RSG) group 
- To manage all associated fundraising payment processes and procedures and work effectively with finance to manage safe and effective banking and reconciliations
- To provide fundraising support across the department and locations of our services in respect of a range of activities including fundraising events
- To support the High Value Events & Corporate Manager in time bound projects as and when necessary

Supporter care

- To be proactive in enabling the supporter journey with timely communications (phone, email and letters) and clear stewardship with both existing and new donors
- Ensure effective frontline support and response for donors across a range of incoming systems
- Ensure donation processes and procedures are adhered to and executed in a timely manner, in accordance with guidelines – updating those wherever required with approval by the RSG Fundraising Officer.
 
Donations and data entry

- Ensure that the fundraising CRM database is up to date and that supporters contact and financial data is accurate, including creating new records
- Complete weekly banking and allocation tasks in accordance with the approved process, liaising with the finance department to ensure that all batched income is allocated correctly
- Data inputting on the CRM to include: regular giving, importing income from external agencies including CAF and Just Giving, processing Gift Aid and accurately storing declarations
- Filing and management of paperwork, ensuring due diligence and security measures are followed.

Fundraising & volunteer support

- To provide active support to a range of events including: managing participants, sending information, monitoring online giving pages and on the day set up and pack down
- To directly source donated items and contributors to support fundraising events including raffle/auction prizes and coordinating suppliers, stallholders and entertainers 
- Coordinate and communicate with volunteers for events and corporate volunteering days and activities, ensuring they are briefed and supported
- To support any regular mailings or email contact to supporters, assisting with the cleaning and compliance of data once an agreed annual schedule is in place regular.

Other

- To manage all aspects of incoming fundraising post and dedicated inboxes along with outgoing mailings
- Ensure general department are kept up to date including attendance at meetings within RSG group wherever possible
- To be conversant with relevant fundraising legislation and the guidelines of the

Our employability team deliver a suite of careers focused programmes and activities to school and university aged young people. This includes Pathways to Law, Pathways to Banking and Finance and Pathways to Engineering, each providing young people with support and expertise in accessing higher education/apprenticeships, work experience opportunities, and skills development. Each programme hosts a national residential conference, giving students the chance to live and learn in a university environment. During the conferences our students have the opportunity to network with industry professionals, take part in a range of skills sessions and project, receive expert guidance on studying and careers, and experience university life through social activities and overnight stays in student halls.

We’re looking for a highly organised individual with a proven track record in event management to lead on the delivery of our residential conferences. Alongside our in-person residential activities this role will also coordinate some online activity for the Pathways to Medicine programme and a lead on a range of projects designed to enhance the impact of the Sutton Trust employability activities.

The post will report to our Senior Programmes Manager for Employability, working closely with the wider employability team, including line management of an intern/assistant and matrix management of team members when required.

Main duties

Designing and delivering the Trust’s residential conferences, currently one event per year for each Pathways programme (Law, Banking & Finance, and Engineering). This includes

• Organising and managing event logistics, such as venues, catering, facilities and accommodation
• Designing activities, content and timetables in line with the programme Theory of Change
• Ensuring residential conferences are risk assessed and run in accordance with latest health and safety guidelines
• Ensuring all activities are planned and delivered in line with safeguarding polices and best practice standards, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all participants
• Overseeing all residential conference administration and pre-event processes, including attendee selection, communications, and requirement gathering
• Managing relationships and coordinating delivery with multiple programme stakeholders including university partners, employers, session facilitators and volunteer speakers
• Managing the residential programmes budget
• Line management of the Employability intern/ assistant, and effectively delegating work for other support staff as required

Responsibility for onsite delivery of each residential conference, this will include:

• Overseeing events of between 90 – 150 students, including multiple overnight stays
• Being the primary contact for staff, volunteers and partners
• Overseeing the recruitment, onboarding, training and management of temporary conference staff; managing staff teams of up to 70 people
• Ensuring all activities and events are run on time and on schedule
• Responding to student concerns and pastoral issues
• Ensuring the appropriate training and staff are in place to embed a proactive safeguarding culture at all events

Further year-round responsibilities will include:

• Co-ordinating additional online events and activities across the suite of Pathways programmes, including Pathways to Medicine
• Contribute to the annual safeguarding review and improvement process led by DSOs
• Lead on a range of employability related projects focused on enhancing the impact of our employability initiatives.
• Managing the MEAL (monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning) and reporting process for residential and relevant online activities
• Modelling best practise in utilising the Trust’s CRM system and data sharing portal - including suggesting changes to drive efficiencies and data collection
• Other duties as necessary from time to time

Person Specification

We welcome applications from individuals who have experience in:

• Designing and managing large scale events - for over 100 delegates across multiple days
• Leading young person-facing events and activities, including awareness of best practice in supporting student needs
• Leading on robust and responsive processes for safeguarding young people, ideally in a residential setting
• Managing relationships with both contracted and voluntary delivery partners as well as diverse stakeholders
• Managing and delegating work to a team of staff to achieve delivery outcomes
• Problem solving and adapting to achieve goals
• Monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement of process and delivery
• Budget management
• Delivering online events and activities (desirable)
• Working within or an understanding of the not for profit sector;

Terms of Appointment

• Contract: Full-time, Permanent
• Salary: £42,025-£44,000 per annum
• Working location: Minimum of 2 office days per week
• Office location: The Sutton Trust, 9th Floor, Millbank Tower, 21-24 Millbank, London, SW1P 4QP. Our home working policy gives staff the option to work from home for up to 60% of the time, with approval from their line manager.
• Hours: The standard working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and may also be required to attend events / meetings outside of their normal working hours during weekday evenings and occasionally at weekends

The General Manager of DPA will be responsible for supporting the development of DPA, driving the company forward, raising the profile, reach, and impact of the work, and ensuring the viability and effective operations of DPA.

Our General Manager is a key member of Different Planet Arts small staff team. Working closely with the Artistic Director and the Board of Trustees as part of the Senior Management Team, you will manage and organise operational support for Different Planet arts programme, ensuring we provide an excellent service to our participants, partners and audiences.

This role is suitable for someone building a career in operations. We are looking for someone who can maintain and provide the right systems and structures to enable others to lead and create our arts projects, and provide ongoing, efficient admin, managerial and fundraising support.

You will manage and be responsible for our systems and processes for financial administration, fundraising, governance procedures and processes, monitoring and keeping the Different Planet Arts office running day-to-day as an administrative hub. You will work closely with our treasurer (who is responsible for creating quarterly Management Accounts.)

Role: General Manager  

Reports to: Artistic Director & Board of Trustees 

Salary: £190 per day, 3 days a week for 48 weeks of the year

Contract: This is a rolling freelance position initially for 6 months to be extended subject to securing future funding

Hours: Preferably 3 days (22.5 hours) a week, 1.5 days at our office in Lewes.

Management Responsibilities

• Support and implement the artistic, business, and strategic planning of DPA, in consultation with the Artistic Director, Board of Trustees, and stakeholders.
• Drive relationships with key stakeholders and funders
• Cultivate a supportive climate of creativity, innovation, and risk-taking in DPA's work
• Ensure DPA remains solvent and able to meet its commitments as outlined in the Three Year Plan
• Lead the fundraising strategy and portfolio at DPA and develop new and diverse fundraising initiatives
• Lead the processes and procedures of governance of DPA both internally with trustees and with external agencies.
• Manage DPA's financial operations, ensuring accurate budgets and reports for staff, board, auditors and funders
• Develop and operate the most efficient administrative processes and systems to support the smooth delivery of DPA's work.
• Ensure DPA's organisation and activities comply with the requirements of Charities Commission and Companies House. Act as DPA's principal interface to these bodies
• Ensure governance, HR policies, and practices are reviewed and updated to deliver a safe working environment and compliance with employment law

Job Requirements

Experience & Knowledge

• A minimum of three years' experience in management and administrative in an arts, or charity organisation or as a company manager in theatre

• Experience of financial processes, including budget management & monitoring

• Understanding of HR policy, processes and best practice

• Experience of securing resources, including making successful funding proposals and grant applications

• Experience of managing office systems, including IT systems.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing with a wide range of people

• Understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace

• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise

• Ability to develop, maintain and contribute to partnerships involving various stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
