Digital Business Analyst - FTC

You will ensure that Alzheimer’s Research UK’s digital channels, products, and services are not just functional, but are strategically aligned to drive our bold goals and deliver the objectives of the Digital, Data and Technology (DDT) transformation programme.
The post holder will act as the crucial link between internal and external stakeholders and the Digital and Technology delivery teams. They will translate high-level business needs into detailed, actionable technical requirements and user stories, ensuring feasibility, maximising project value, and guaranteeing that implemented solutions deliver an optimal supporter experience.
This is an 18-month fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Elicitation and Scope Definition
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define, prioritise, and document functional and non-functional requirements for priority DDT projects and product enhancements (across web, email and other digital channels as required).
· Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process mapping sessions to identify core business problems and opportunities for digital improvement.
· Ensure all requirements align with the overarching DDT architecture and digital principles being established.
Analysis, Feasibility, and Impact Assessment
· Conduct feasibility studies and cost/benefit analyses for proposed digital changes, ensuring new solutions contribute to organisational goals for supporter experience, sustainability, and productivity (return on investment).
· Analyse current digital channel performance data and user behaviour (market research) to identify trends and inform decision-making, ensuring future-proofed and data-driven requirements.
· Simplify complex business and technical concepts, ensuring clarity for both executive leadership and the development team.
Documentation and Artefact Creation
· Translate high-level requirements into detailed documentation, including User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, wireframes, user flow diagrams, and process models for the Digital and Technology delivery teams.
· Produce clear, high-quality technical writing and documentation for project processes, system changes, and end-user guides, contributing to the team's knowledge base.
Quality Assurance and UAT Management
· Play a key role in the design and co-ordination of comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans to validate that all digital solutions and features meet documented business requirements and satisfy user needs.
· Support the implementation phase of priority DDT activities such as our web development project, acting as a point of consultation to resolve issues and validate new solutions (e.g. changes in software or platform compatibility).
· Contribute to system maintenance planning by documenting defects and change requests post-launch.
Communication and Bridge Building
· Serve as the primary communication bridge between the DDT Programme Manager and Digital, internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring project transparency.
· Facilitate project presentations and public introductions of new digital features to stakeholders and internal teams to secure project adoption and report on progress.
What we are looking for:
· Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or equivalent role, specifically within a digital, marketing, or technology environment.
· Expertise in using agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum) and developing core business analysis artefacts (User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, Process Maps, BRDs).
· Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, analyse, and interpret complex data to drive requirements and design solutions.
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate with stakeholders and simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
· Familiarity with digital project lifecycles, and the ability to support project teams without direct management of the projects themselves.
· Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organisational goals into impactful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the Ri’s YouTube membership programme, posting regular member updates, monitoring churn, and generally developing the product to provide a consistent and growing income stream
- Manage the Ri’s website platform and, in conjunction with Head of Digital, Marketing and Communications, develop a road map for future improvements to ensure all website developments are audience-focused and strategically aligned
- With the support of the Head of Digital, manage the day-to-day relationships with our website agency and other digital suppliers, including our YouTube partner manager, as well as discrete digital projects, to ensure our website, YouTube channel, and other digital platforms continue to grow and maintain a high level of quality for our users.
- With the support of the Head of Digital, manage the Ri’s programme of public and commercial filming – including YouTube films, livestreams and partner content – to ensure accessibility of high-quality science content for Ri audiences

Skills & Experience

· DDT Programme Support: While not a core part of the role, the Digital Lead will provide operational support to the Head of Digital and the broader digital transformation programme. This includes ensuring the Digital team's resources and deliverables (e.g. website development, cyber security, Salesforce embedding) are planned effectively to support the DDT's success, without taking on direct project management responsibility for them.
Planning & Reporting
· Operational Planning: Support the Head of Digital with the development of the team's operational plans, including learning and development initiatives, and the Digital Acceleration Training Programme.
· Performance Monitoring: Track and report on key departmental metrics, such as learning programme participation rates and team satisfaction, to the Head of Digital. Ensure all departmental objectives and goals are on track.

Direct Marketing Acquisition Manager (Direct Response)
You will develop and oversee a specialist area of direct response marketing, taking responsibility for paid media activity resulting in giving and prize-led support, and the associated programme and products. You will ensure the highest standard of quality and compliance, across a diverse programme mix. You’ll manage significant income and expenditure budgets and deliver exceptional fundraising campaigns to drive an ambitious growth plan, accelerating progress towards a cure.
Collaborating with different teams across the charity, you’ll be planning, managing and delivering the direct marketing programme across a range of media including digital, TV, telephone, and print. Activities in the acquisition portfolio are diverse; from delivering an established, successful core programme to playing an important role in exciting cross-organisational projects.
You’ll work with a team of three across a range of channels, media and projects at the charity; speaking to range of audiences with one theme in common – compelling people to stand with us for a cure.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme and campaign management
· Lead the development and delivery of the direct marketing acquisition programme and strategy, with a particular focus on the direct response elements.
· To be responsible for reviewing and developing our Weekly Lottery Strategy to maximize income.
· Oversee the delivery of the direct response acquisition campaigns; ensuring they are in market on time, on budget and on brand.
· Deliver consistent, structured testing to ensure continuous improvement. Where appropriate and worthwhile, ensure testing is applied to all activity and reviewed with recommendations acted upon.
· Involvement in charity-wide projects and groups; putting supporters at the heart of what we do, as well as playing a key role in the delivery of our Fundraising & Marketing Strategy.
· Management of all key acquisition suppliers including routine reviews, briefing, optimisation and general relationship management.
· Annual planning of acquisition direct marketing; including input to operational planning and development of relevant marketing plans.
· Ensure the campaign planning and delivery cycle is adhered to across the team, and all stakeholders are well managed.
· Ensure routine end of campaign reviews and analysis (with suppliers as well as your own), with proactive adaptation of plans to optimise results.
· Ensure contingency plans and activities are in place to close any expected income gaps.
People management
· Management and development of a team of three, with two direct reports.
· Empowering team members to succeed and grow with clear, SMART goals and development plans in place.
· Complete routine 1-1 meetings and annual appraisals with direct reports.
· Developing a high performing team who work collaboratively across the charity.
· Agency relationship management across a variety of partners and suppliers, from building relationships and negotiating, to contract and routine performance reviews.
· Working closely with the Supporter Care and Data teams to ensure the acquisition activity and processes are well understood and that they can support the team as best possible.
Budget management and reporting
· Annual budgeting of direct marketing programmes and campaigns.
· Regular forecasting in line with the annual cycle, making recommendations around budget allocation and managing expectations throughout.
· KPI tracking, trend analysis and interrogation of results at all levels.
· Regular financial performance reporting.
· Programme optimisation to ensure contribution targets are met and contingency planning as required.
· Detailed reporting geared towards a longer-term view of performance, covering long-term & ROI modelling, lifetime value and considering supporter experience and engagement.
What we are looking for:

About the Roles

As an Employee Relations Adviser, you will provide advice and guidance to managers on a wide range of HR issues, including performance management, conduct, absence, capability, grievance, and structural changes. You will support named business areas, enabling you to build strong working relationships and gain a clear understanding of business demands and pressures.
Collaboration is central to the role: you will work closely with colleagues within the ERA team, as well as with Resourcing, People Business Partners, Finance, Safeguarding and HR Admin teams.
Essential Skills and Criteria:
- Solutions-focused approach, with the ability to adapt your style to suit varied situations and provide pragmatic, relevant advice and options to managers.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience coaching managers considered advantageous.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification, or working towards this, or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
- Strong, up to date, knowledge of UK employment law.
- Proficiency in Office 365 and confidence in managing virtual meetings.
- Ability to facilitate and lead virtual HR meetings, ensuring discussions run smoothly and professionally.
- Ability to take accurate notes during HR meetings and maintain up-to-date case files and documentation throughout the life cycle of each case.
- Effective team-working skills, collaborating across multiple departments and building productive relationships in your assigned business areas.
Additional Information:
- You will be home based but may be dual located if you live near a suitable RSPB office.
- Some travel within the UK may be needed occasionally, but this is not regular.
- Both roles are Fixed-Term contracts until the 31st of March 2027, with slight variations in hours and area of influence.
- Role 1: 0.8 FTE (30 hours per week) - primarily supporting our Face-to-Face Membership Recruitment Teams
- Role 2: 0.6 FTE (22.5 hours per week)

In this exciting role you will:
- Provide admin support to the team, keep the corporate supporter database (Raiser’s Edge) accurately maintained and up to date and assist with data gathering, reporting and insights.
- Provide excellent customer service, manage, respond and direct corporate partnership enquiries via email, and telephone.
- Support the planning and delivery of corporate partnership activities by working with both partners and St Mungo’s teams.
- Follow fundraising best practices, adhere to St Mungo’s policies, and contribute to a supportive team culture.
- You will work closely with the Coordinator, who will provide you with support, supervision and training to develop the necessary skills to succeed in this role.
In this role, you’ll work flexibly across different locations and activities, giving you the chance to engage with teams across St Mungo’s and external partners. You’ll also be required to spend time at our Central London office for training, collaboration, and team building. We support agile working for the rest of the week - whether from home or other St Mungo’s sites in London or regional locations.

The Training and Events Manager will form an essential part of the SLA team working to run a high quality, inspiring and engaging events and training to help us deliver on our mission to support members, so that more children and young people reach their full potential through the school library. You will lead on the organisation of our annual conference; develop and maintain a calendar of events and training for members and non-member audiences; and support the team with all event related administration and logistics. Events at the SLA include member meet ups (in person and online), events in our branch network across 23 regions, professional development and training, and our SLA Awards ceremonies.
Your work will be at the forefront of our member offer, helping to build links with membership, support members, build relationships with key stakeholders and sponsors, delivering high-quality training and impactful events offer across the year. An agile and flexible thinker, you will be creative, with a flair for spotting opportunities for professional development, and have a keen eye for detail with an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Using your project management experience, you will work with the CEO, SLA team colleagues and subject matter experts and facilitators to develop and deliver a high quality and competitive calendar of events and training.
