About Team Up
Team Up works to reduce the widening attainment gap in education by helping underachieving disadvantaged pupils double their expected progress and improve their future prospects. We do this through inspirational volunteer tutors, with the support of qualified teachers.
We deliver free online and in-person small group tuition in maths and English to over 1,000 disadvantaged pupils in London and the South East each year. We have ambitions to expand programme delivery further into Essex in 2021/22.
We offer enrichment programmes to pupils who we tutor to raise their commitment to their tuition subjects and increase aspirations for further education or new career ideas. Enrichment programmes consist of interactive workshops, including STEM subjects and career based Q&A’s, at top universities and employer workplaces.
Alongside our delivery team of qualified teachers, we train over 300 volunteer tutors (mainly in full time education, aged 17-21 years old) who value the meaningful volunteer experience we offer them for their future careers. Each tutor is placed on our Rising Leaders programme where Team Up commits to provide a professional mentor to those who want one, a reference and career workshops and seminars as well as tutors being able to achieve a certified qualification with SSAT (Schools, Students and Teachers Network).
About the role
This is a demanding and exciting role for a multi-skilled individual looking to gain experience in a charity with an impactful programme and committed volunteer base.
This is a crucial role with an overview of our systems and processes, supporting our Head of Programmes with programme delivery in understanding how to make data work for our cause.
In this role you will be responsible for coordinating specific elements of our delivery programme including support work on our new virtual classrooms software, understanding the context in which our Head of Programmes monitors her team, our growing number of pupils and tutor performance through data and the systems around this data collection. You’ll coordinate events as part of our Rising Leaders Programme to our volunteer tutor base which will give you an opportunity to build relationships with our alumni and communicate with them on a regular basis. Three times a year, leading up to the start of a new term, our tutor recruitment team will need extra help and you will be able to understand the process of engaging with volunteers and onboarding them as Team Up tutors.

Support the design and delivery of our training work
- Work with the Head of Training and Lead Trainer to set delivery goals for our campaigns training work.
- Work in partnership with the Logistics, Systems and Operations Manager to manage the delivery of the campaign training work.
- Select external trainers, speakers and performers for our residential programme.
- Work with the Alumni and Communications Manager to develop content for our annual Communities of Resistance event and other alumni training events.
- Oversee the development of curriculum and resources for our campaign training programme.
- Work with the Head of Training to write the budget for the campaigns training work and ensure the work is delivered within the budget.

Your role
The Fundraising and Communications teams at Young Epilepsy are going through an exciting phase of change and growth. With the challenges in the current funding climate, we need an agile and skilled team who can help us deliver our goals that will enable young people with epilepsy to thrive.
This means significantly increasing our income and engaging our supporters in a more meaningful way, putting them at the heart of our fundraising and delivering excellent customer service.
We need data driven insights to help us target our engagement in the right way and we need to improve and adapt our fundraising proposition to reflect the changing needs of both beneficiaries and donors and stand out in a crowded market.
With the development of a new website, investment in our brand and communications and with growing ambition across our service delivery, this role will be pivotal in navigating our way to success, in a time of complexity and uncertainty.
What we need from you
We are looking for candidates who can lead with vision, set clarity and purpose to a team dealing with ambiguity and change. This means thinking both creatively and analytically, staying focused on the goal, and having a passion for the work we do.
You will play a lead role establishing a Supporter Engagement team, support the development of our fundraising plan, and lead on developing and delivering our individual giving programme, appeals, products and campaigns.
The candidate we are looking for will have experience and skill in developing donor relationships, building quality data to gain valuable insights into supporter behaviour and a strong understanding of how to maximise digital channels to reach new audiences.

An exciting opportunity has come up for an Events and Grants Coordinator. The right person will be passionate about tackling mental health, and driven to ensure that all projects happen to the highest possible standards.
You will have an innovative and agile approach to events and project management. You will need to work closely with colleagues.
Job Purpose
- Events management, including MQ’s annual Mental Health Science Summit, sector conferences, and expert meetings
- Supporting stewardship of funded research projects, including current awardees and alumni
- Delivering grant rounds
- Effective project management
- Using and maintaining operational tools for programmes, including grant management software (e.g. Flexigrant and Research Fish)
- Other activities as they arise that can be reasonably expected of this role
Requirements

Terms
