Job description

This role provides a great opportunity to join and lead a busy team of four, working towards eliminating cervical cancer through our local engagement programmes. The Health Engagement team engages with a range of stakeholders including women affected by cervical cancer and cell changes (abnormal cells) women and young people eligible for cervical screening including marginalised groups and HPV vaccination, primary and secondary health care professionals, and key heath influencers. We are evidenced based with everything we do and we hope that you will have a passion for health engagement and how it can be evaluated.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to manage a dynamic team, based in London, Glasgow and the West of Scotland. You will be a strong communicator, have proven success in building strong relationships with local health influencers and have experience in public health engagement. You will lead your team in initiating and achieving targets to support the charity to achieve its overall mission as well as increasing the charity's influence and its expertise through developing new relationships across the UK.

About the role

As Public Health Engagement Manager you will lead your team to develop the charity’s health engagement and outreach ambitions. This includes the successful oversight and completion of major projects funded by the Tampon Tax and Scottish Government.

You will show your influencing and partnership making skills with those who make decisions on investing in locally focussed work on cervical cancer and prevention such as CCG's, Cancer Alliances and Health Boards.

This role requires highly sophisticated interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders including senior health influencers, partner providers, health professionals, operational staff, volunteers and service users.

The post holder will motivate and inspire our team, engaging staff and volunteers in the primary purpose of our organisation – delivering trustworthy information and education about cervical cancer and its prevention.

The Public Health Engagement team are a highly skilled, passionate and motivated group who fully understand their roles and are deeply committed to the work of Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust.

To apply for this role please send a CV and a covering letter to Robert Music, Chief Executive. Further information can be found on our website. Applications without a covering letter will not be considered.
