Animal Welfare Investigations Project (AWIP) is a specialist not-for-profit organisation dedicated to ending cruelty through intelligence-led investigations, criminal prosecutions, and systemic change.
We are investing heavily in building a world-class legacy fundraising program. We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Legacy Officer to help steward our most visionary supporters — securing transformational gifts that will protect animals for generations to come.
About the Role
As our Legacy Officer, you will be at the heart of one of the most important projects in AWIP’s future.
You will:

Build warm, trusting relationships with legacy pledgers and prospects.

Respond to supporter enquiries about Gifts in Wills.

Steward confirmed pledgers through personalised updates, thank you letters, and occasional calls or events.

Maintain accurate CRM records for legacy prospects and pledgers.

Create simple, heartfelt communications to inspire and retain pledgers.

Host occasional small-scale legacy events (virtual or in-person).
-
Report on progress to the Executive Director.
This is a 12-month temporary contract with a strong possibility of extension or becoming permanent based on program growth and conversion performance.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:

Self-motivated, able to manage workload across 16 hours per week.

Comfortable communicating by email, letter, and phone.

Committed to animal protection and the long-term power of Gifts in Wills.

Holds or is willing to work towards a recognised legacy qualification (e.g., CiCLA or Certificate in Legacy Fundraising).

(Preferred) Adherence to a cruelty-free – vegan or vegetarian – lifestyle with a passion for protecting animals.

(Preferred) Previous experience in legacy fundraising, supporter care, or major gifts.

Role Details

Salary: £12,000–£12,600 per year (equivalent to £28,500–£31,500 FTE).

Working Hours: 16 hours weekly total, fully flexible working. Overtime (time off in lieu) may be available for extra workload.

Location: Remote (occasional travel for in-person team meetings and/or supporter events — expenses paid).

Contract: 12 months initially, with strong potential to extend or become permanent.

The RSPCA Woodside Animal Centre is seeking a Head of Income Generation to provide expertise, leadership, vision and guidance to drive forward the strategic direction of their Income Generation programme.
Founded in 1881, RSPCA Leicestershire Branch has been helping animals in need for over one hundred years. From 1975 the charity has been based at Woodside Animal Centre in Leicester and provides vital care to animals in need across Leicestershire, Peterborough and Rutland, alongside educating the public about animal welfare.
This role will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Income Generation strategy for RSPCA Woodside and is an exciting opportunity for a fundraising leader, with the support of the CEO, to make the role their own in a post with scope and opportunities for career progression. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, researching and pursuing new opportunities for fundraising and revenue generation. The post will set and achieve ambitious income targets across multiple income streams, including corporate sponsorships, major donors, trusts and grants, and digital fundraising initiatives. It will also lead on growing the individual giving, legacy giving, and major donor programmes.
Candidates will have a proven track record in leading successful fundraising or income generation strategies, as well as a strong background in managing diverse income streams, including individual giving, corporate partnerships, trusts and grant applications. You will have exceptional leadership skills and have a creative approach, with the ability to inspire the Income Generation team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and high performance.
Commercial acumen with experience in identifying and developing revenue-generating opportunities will be combined with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for engaging donors, partners, and stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a proactive and integral part of the team delivering content for online and offline fundraising appeals, regular gift products and legacy marketing.
As the Fundraising Marketing Officer, you will support the Senior Marketing Officer in executing the annual fundraising and marketing strategy, with a strong focus on donor acquisition and stewardship. You will craft compelling, authentic copy to create fundraising appeals for both warm and cold audiences, aiming to inspire engagement and support.
Working collaboratively across the charity, you will drive and enhance marketing efforts across all fundraising products. You will proactively seek opportunities to grow and promote the charity's membership offering, developing clear and effective campaigns in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
In addition, you will work alongside the Senior Marketing Officer and Supporter Services team to analyse the donor journey at every touchpoint. By using best-practice benchmarking, you will identify opportunities for improvement and collaborate across teams to deliver an even stronger supporter experience.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Proven track record in not-for-profit fundraising marketing and a passion for leveraging stories to drive fundraising success.
- Experience of developing and implementing on and offline fundraising marketing campaigns, delivering them on time and on budget.
- A proven ability to write persuasive copy.
- Strong project management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.
