The Role
Under the direction of the Head of Income Generation and Engagement, create, deliver and evaluate a long-term Individual Giving strategy.
Build a diverse and sustainable individual giving portfolio suited to the brand, stakeholders, resources and growth aspirations.

We are seeking a strategic and creative Individual Giving & Engagement Manager to grow supporter income and deepen relationships with individuals passionate about protecting rainforests.

About the Role

This role will lead the organisation’s individual giving programme, developing strategies to attract, engage and retain supporters while increasing sustainable income.

• Experience of working with a donor database, ideally The Raiser’s Edge

Mid Value Donor Manager

Hours: 37.5 Hours per week, flexible working options considered

Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Remote or Hybrid role with some travel to our Andover, Hampshire office

Macular disease is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, with around 300 people diagnosed every day. The Macular Society is the only charity determined to beat the fear and isolation of macular disease with world class research, and the best advice and support.

The Mid-Value Donor role is a vital part of this vision and your extensive experience in cultivating and stewarding mid-value donors will help us achieve our ambitions and make a meaningful impact.

Working closely within our passionate and results driven Trusts and Philanthropy team, you will identify, recruit and develop mid-value donors from cold sources and from amongst our existing supporters and members. You will be helping us beat macular disease by creating tailored appeal programmes and stewardship journeys that inspire significant and sustained giving.

· Knows their Stuff when it comes to developing donor programmes that drive significant income.

· Can Make It Happen by delivering inspiring appeals and donor communications.

· Shows They Care in the way they speak with our funders and the way they work and support colleagues across our teams.

Are you an experienced fundraiser, skilled in crafting persuasive appeals and telling moving stories of impact and change? We have a fabulous opportunity for you to use your creative and organisational skills to make a difference to families in South London and East Surrey.

Our programmes include individual family support, domestic abuse recovery and a range of parenting and group work programmes to enable families to thrive.

The core of your role will be in generating funds from trusts, foundations and grant making trusts.

• Identify and research prospective funders aligned with Welcare’s priorities.
• Develop tailored, high-quality grant applications, expressions of interest, and monitoring reports.
• Manage a rolling pipeline of small, medium, and large grant opportunities.
• Lead on multi-year and restricted funding applications where appropriate.
• Ensure accurate tracking of deadlines and submissions using eTapestry (Blackbaud’s CRM/Supporter Management System)
• Work closely with CEO, Head of Practice and Business Manager to gather data, case studies, and outcomes.

• Translate impact data into compelling narratives aligned with funder priorities.
• Support development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to strengthen future bids.

Salary:  £41,771 FTE (pro-rata £25,062)
