Maintenance Surveyor
We are looking for a Maintenance Surveyor with considerable experience in construction or maintenance project management.
Position: Maintenance Surveyor
Salary: £49,340 Per annum
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week Monday - Friday
Location: Hammersmith, West London, hybrid with 2 days in the office
Contract: Permanent

About the role:
In this role, you will support the Director of Property and Estate Services and contribute by providing technical advice and oversight to deliver high quality, resident-focused maintenance service. You will maintain external relationships with tenants and leaseholders, local authority Councillors, representatives from emergency, social and healthcare services, consultants and contractors.
Your main responsibilities will include
- The provision of technical advice to team members to enable repairs order to be raised appropriately.
- Manage a programme of work to comply with statutory and regulatory health and safety obligations.
- Manage a portfolio of major repair projects, and the process of specifying, implementing and completing void works.
- Engagement with residents to carry out pre and post repair inspections and statutory consultations
- Manage disrepair claims, damp and mould cases, and respond to complaints within given timescales.
About You:
As Maintenance Surveyor you will have a technical qualification in construction or maintenance related subject area. We are looking for a highly organised, self-motivated, collaborative and outcome-focused professional with a significant amount of knowledge of works ordering systems and obtaining competitive quotations.

About the role
In this post you will be responsible for the implementation, management, and delivery of all electrical, fire detection, door entry, lifts, CCTV and digital TV installation utilising the Council’s supply chain partners. This includes repair, maintenance, and major projects of existing and new installations to Council housing stock.
About you
You will take full responsibility for managing works and projects from the start to final delivery working on your own initiative and with minimal supervision. This will include budget management, preparing specifications, drawings, the procurement of contracts, supervision of electrical related programmes of works to the Council’s housing stock.
Ideally you should have a degree in Building Surveying (or equivalent work experience in a similar Mechanical and Electrical role with a HNC/HND in Building Surveying/Construction, or a specific qualification within the Electrical field). Detailed working knowledge on a wide range of areas including building defects and their remedies is essential for this post.
Working knowledge of housing related law and best practice related to repairs, maintenance and improvements e.g. CDM and Building Regulations are essential for this post.

The Role
As an Arboricultural Officer, you will survey and record all aspects of the tree stock to protect the natural landscape and maintain a safe environment for our visitors.
Carrying out accurate tree inspections, you’ll diagnose and assess the impacts of injury, decay and structural defects. You’ll support the mitigation and management of pests and diseases, particularly Massaria of London Plane and Oak Processionary Moth.
You’ll also work with the Wildlife and Conservation Officers to develop and implement park strategies and management plans and to create and maintain critical wildlife habitats.
Additionally, you will:
- Liaise with contractors to prioritise areas of risk
- Ensure works are carried out in adherence to specifications, on time and within budget
- Adhere to existing working practices, methods and procedures
- Provide technical Arboricultural support
About You
To be considered as an Arboricultural Officer, you will need:
- Experience in the inspection, risk assessment and management of a wide range of trees
- Experience surveying and managing Massaria (Splanchnonema platani)
- Experience in the application of British Standards relating to trees
- An understanding of nature conservation issues, SSSI status and protected species legislation relating to Arboriculture and trees
- Excellent identification ability of a wide range of amenity trees
- Excellent knowledge in the identification and prognosis of a wide range of pest and diseases and fungal fruit bodies
- To hold, or be willing to work towards, an Arboricultural Association Professional Tree Inspection Certificate
- A NVQ Level Three (NQF Level IV) qualification in Arboriculture (or equivalent)
- A full, valid driving licence
