Are you passionate about using data to create change for children and young people in education? We are looking for a Data and Insights Manager to lead the ongoing development of our Salesforce CRM and help us make the most of our data to achieve our charity mission.

Our highly customised Salesforce database supports every aspect of our work—capturing and managing data from volunteers, pupils, schools, and tutoring sessions. As Data and Insights Manager, you will make sure our system remains fit for purpose and help turn data into meaningful insights that can inform decision-making.

Duties and responsibilities 

Salesforce and systems development

• Collaborate with external Salesforce development consultants to continue building our system capabilities and design.
• Design and oversee the collection of stakeholder, tutoring delivery, quality assurance and evaluation data, working with colleagues to ensure data is collected in a timely, accurate and consistent manner.

Team leadership and support

• Line manage the Data Lead, ensuring their work is of high quality and they have clear development objectives.
• Plan and oversee training and support for the whole organisation on the effective use of Salesforce, developing their understanding of the purpose and value of data.

Data insights

• Support the Head of Impact and Quality to generate insights from data to inform evidence-based decision-making across departments, including through dashboards.

• Data governance

• Champion data security and GDPR compliance across the organisation, including contributing to the upkeep of privacy notices, responding to queries, and facilitating stakeholder GDPR rights.
• Any other reasonable tasks as per the request of the CEO.

About you (person specification)

Qualifications criteria:

Responsibilities

About the role

This role sits within The Passage Housing Needs Service (HNS) team. It will provide brief interventions to support individuals who have been placed into accommodation by the HNS team to settle into and sustain their tenancies. The post holder will work holistically to assist individuals to address issues that are impacting on their ability to sustain their accommodation on a time limited basis and will link them into services in their local areas for ongoing support in order for them to gain independence and integrate into their new communities.

Main duties

• To provide support to individuals who are moving into their new private rented sector accommodation where appropriate and needed. This can include setting up utilities, council tax among other things.
• To establish and develop positive and constructive working relationships with a range of services and agencies across London boroughs that can provide support to our clients ensuring the best possible outcomes for them.
• To assess any risk to clients, the environment and staff, record and communicate any risks identified using appropriate channels in the Passage.
• To ensure accurate and timely record keeping using the Inform database as well as client files and ensure all record keeping and information sharing is kept securely in line with Data protection.
• Support HNS Workers to complete exit questionnaires to gather feedback and promote co production with the individuals the team supports.
• To draw up psychologically informed action plans for clients ensuring they are person centered and taking into consideration the clients’ views.

Key responsibilities

• In conjunction with your Housing Needs Service Coordinator to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Passage.
• To participate in internal/external meetings as required, attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary.

Accountabilities

This role involves a range of duties that may vary week to week. Key responsibilities include:

Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach are essential, as this role involves close interaction with colleagues across the team. An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, music therapy and the experiences of our clients is important.

Confidence using digital tools and systems is essential, as the role involves working with a range of platforms to support service delivery and coordination.

Job Purpose: 

Volunteering Matters are partnering with Active Suffolk to recruit  6 Community Connectors to work in the following areas of Ipswich: 

• 2 x Whitton 

• 1 x Gainsborough

• 1 x Belstead Hills 

The ideal candidates will have strong local knowledge of the area and preferably, live within the community they are assigned to. In this role, you will have conversations with local residents (aged 18+) to capture lived experience around barriers, motivations, perceptions of being physically active in the local community. You must be a confident communicator and able to work off your own initiative.

The information collected will be shared with project partners and local stakeholders to guide further learning and community development, with the goal of securing future funding for further investment in these areas. 

Responsibilities 

• Identify, plan and create opportunities to have conversations with local residents around being physically active in the local community

• Identify community needs – gather information from local residents on what they value the most, the challenges they face, and what services or initiatives could benefit them. This could be done through informal conversations, community meetings, surveys 

• Share ideas with the local community and project partners/ stakeholders 

• Signpost to information and support for residents wanting to get more involved with their local community 

• Build relationships and networks locally to promote and create opportunities for conversations. 

• Conduct conversations safely and effectively in a range of settings (eg cafes, outside local schools, community events etc) to reach a diverse range of local residents 

• Participate in regular team meetings to support learning, problem solving and collaboration 

• Work within agreed budgets and utilise community resources and venues to undertake conversations

• Strong connections with and experience of the Whitton, Gainsborough and Belstead Hills areas of the town. Preference would be from applicants living in these areas.

Bereavement Support Services Lead (Digital). This is a rewarding and key role in the Bereavement Support Services team. The team provides a wide range of services, including the Helpline, Online Community, memory making, and print materials. The aim of this post is to provide operational and line management so that the BSS team can provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands, as well as supervising the work of the Bereavement Support Officers on the frontline. As our digital support continues to grow and develop, we are looking for someone to support and inspire the team in this expanding area, working closely with Sands’ Bereavement Support Digital Coordinator. The Bereavement Support Services Team offers 1-2-1 support via telephone, email and other digital channels, and is usually open from 10-3 from Monday to Friday and 6-9pm from Tuesday to Thursday with occasional extended opening hours. Support is also available through digital channels; our Online Community, direct messenger on Instagram and Facebook and various closed groups on Facebook which need to be regularly monitored and moderated to provide a safe, user-led space accessible to all. In future a wider range of channels may be used. There are three Bereavement Support Leads (BSLs) including this post holder, and between them they are expected to cover all regular opening hours on a rota basis. Each shift will start 30 minutes before the helpline opens and end 30 minutes after the helpline closes, and BSLs will divide up the week in order to be present during shifts and ensure at least one BSL or the Head of BSS is available to the team 9am-4pm Monday to Friday and 5.30pm-9.30pm Tuesday to Thursday for safeguarding and general support. This includes setting federation wide safeguarding policies and procedures, providing safeguarding training, case management, management of the Safeguarding Focal Point Network, and sector safeguarding engagement.

We are a remote global team, and the successful candidate must be willing to work independently, and to travel when required occasionally at short notice.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Global Safeguarding Team as our Senior Global Safeguarding Specialist reporting to the Global Safeguarding Director. This is a senior role in the team and will play a key part in managing and supervising safeguarding cases and investigations, as well as providing proactive support and guidance to Members and Country Programmes on a range of safeguarding topics. The role involves a considerable about of proactive prevention work such as designing and facilitating training and resources for a range of audiences (Boards, staff groups, volunteers, communities). The role involves organisation and facilitation of large-scale events and management of the Safeguarding Focal Point Network. This role supports the Global Safeguarding Director in implementing safeguarding policies and standards and works closely to deliver core safeguarding projects across the federation. The team is supported by a Global Safeguarding Co-Ordinator for whom this role line manages, a Global Safeguarding Adviser and a Community Safeguarding Engagement Adviser.

In this role you’ll also: 

• Lead and Co-lead safeguarding support country programme / member visits.
• Maintain and update core safeguarding policies and standards as and when required.
• Actively engage with external safeguarding networks to ensure WaterAid continues to contribute to improve sector safeguarding standards and engages in relevant sector initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with global safeguarding standards in relation to core performance indicators.
• Lead on planning and developing, training resources such as webinars, videos, and guidance documents for multiple audiences.

Requirements

To be successful, you’ll need: 

• Proven track record of working in a safeguarding environment with significant case management experience of at least 5 years.
• Significant experience in conducting safeguarding investigations and risk-based interviewing.
• Experience of report writing skills, including risk assessments and risk management report writing.
• Technical knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and protection principles and standards.
• Understanding and knowledge of applying a trauma survivor centred approach
• Experience of working with vulnerable groups such as young people and vulnerable communities.
• Knowledge of UK and globally relevant safeguarding legislation and guidance.
• Experience of working in challenging, face paced, and complex environments.
• Experience of safeguarding policy design and implementation.
• To be able to confidentiality communicate in English both written and spoken.
