About the team
The Philanthropy Team raises income for Impetus and for Impetus partner charities. The team consists of 15 staff. Impetus has an annual income of c.£11 million which we are looking to grow significantly within the next few years. The team is led by the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships.
The Philanthropy Team works with major donors, corporates and grant making trusts, as well as collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to ensure we make a compelling case to generate new financial commitments and wider support for our work. The team also deliver a high-quality engagement programme of volunteering and pro bono for Impetus’s corporate supporters.
Impetus is driven by a shared belief in tackling the barriers that hold back young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in education and employment. Alongside investing extensive financial and non-financial support in our charity partners through our Investment Team we also seek to influence decision makers to design and implement evidence led policy and direct new resources to get young people the support they need through our Public Affairs team. About this role
This role is a 12‑month maternity cover, supporting an important phase of delivery and development within the Philanthropy team. The postholder will work closely with colleagues to maintain momentum in new business activity while contributing to strategic account management and stewardship.
The Head of Development is a senior role within the Philanthropy Team, with a primary focus on new business development. This includes identifying, cultivating and securing new funding relationships across trusts, foundations, corporates, co‑investment partners and high‑net‑worth individuals.
Alongside new business delivery, the role also provides strategic account management for a small portfolio of high-value partners, ensuring smooth transitions from acquisition into long term stewardship.
This role works alongside the Head of Philanthropy, with both roles contributing to the success of the Philanthropy Team. The Head of Philanthropy leads on deep stewardship and retention, while the Head of Development focusses on new income generation and building relationships with new funders and partners.
The postholder will work closely with the Director of Philanthropy & Partnerships, Philanthropy Directors as well as Senior Research and Insights Manager, contributing specialist expertise, strong delivery and sound judgement, while operating within agreed strategy and governance frameworks.
Key responsibilities:
New business development
- Support the Director of Philanthropy & Partnerships and Development Director on the development and delivery of the new business plan in line with the fundraising strategy
- Works with the Senior Research and Insights Manager to identify emerging funding trends, opportunities, market opportunities and best practice
- In collaboration with the Development Director and Growth and Insights Director, lead the delivery of agreed cultivation strategies for priority prospects, proactively progressing relationships from qualification through to solicitation and conversion, leveraging senior stakeholders, board members, donor advocates and wider networks
- Develop and deliver compelling cultivation strategies and tailored pitch plans for priority prospects, including designing and building new donor acquisition vehicles (e.g. committees, cultivation events and targeted communications), working collaboratively with colleagues across Impetus
- Lead and support high-level meetings, pitches and negotiations with prospective donors, positioning Impetus as a credible and strategic partner
- Work with trustees, senior leaders and pro bono supporters to leverage networks and secure introductions to new prospects
- Ensure high-quality written and verbal communications with prospective donors
Account management and stewardship
- Build and maintain professional, long-term relationships within the portfolio, escalating strategic issues or risks promptly.
- Manage a targeted portfolio of high-value donors of six figures and supports on seven figure partnerships, ensuring excellent stewardship, timelyreporting and meaningful engagement
- Act as a relationship lead for selected donors, building trust and ensuring a smooth transition from new business to long-term stewardship
- Own and deliver tailored account plans for assigned donors, with a focus on renewal, upgrade and long-term relationship value
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality donor communications for assigned donors, including reports, impact updates, and engagement opportunities
- Ensure robust portfolio management, including accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and use of CRM systems
- Identify opportunities to deepen relationships through increased giving, multi-year commitments or broader engagement with Impetus’ work
- Works closely with Development Director on supporting Funds i.e. Connect, Skills, Attainment or Engage as needed

Person specification
Essential:
- A strong track record of raising six-figure+ philanthropic income from grant-making trusts and foundations, corporate foundations and/or individual donors, including experience with high-net-worth individuals
- Proven ability to lead and deliver the full fundraising cycle, from prospecting and cultivation through to solicitation, stewardship and renewal
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, planning and delivery skills, with the ability to generate ideas, translate them into practical account plans, and execute them effectively
- Excellent research, prospecting and qualification skills, with the judgement to prioritise high-value opportunities
- A proactive, creative and innovative approach to fundraising, with the ability to adapt and develop creative donor centred approaches

About the Campaigns and Public Affairs Manager role
In this varied and exciting position, you will manage high profile WI campaigns and play a key role in achieving change on key issues affecting women and their community.
The Campaigns and Public Affairs Manager provides essential management of the Public Affairs team and its activities- including campaigning, lobbying, research and policy work- whilst working closely with the Director of Campaigns and Membership to maintain a strategic overview of the department’s work.
You will be responsible for devising appropriate lobbying strategies to achieve our key objectives, responding to governmental policy and consultation papers and supporting the NFWI’s media work in relation to all campaigning and Public Affairs activity.
This role also plays a vital part in managing departmental projects, from the development and implementation of campaign project plans, to identifying funding opportunities and administering budgets.
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week.
Location: Hybrid working, with at least one day per week at our London office.
About you
Experienced in all aspects of campaigning and lobbying, with a strong understanding of current affairs and issues across the policy spectrum, you will be adept at taking a campaign from start to finish, whilst developing impactful influencing strategies in a political context. You will be a confident line manager, with experience of supporting and overseeing your team’s performance, development and wellbeing.
The ability to represent the NFWI externally- to civil servants, government departments and external organisations- as well as working closely with volunteers and members at a grassroots level is also key.
An understanding of key policy issues relating to areas such as women’s health or the environment would also be desirable, however your passion for helping the WI achieve its mission by making a difference every day will be the key to your success in the role.

Duties and key responsibilities
Database Administration (Raiser’s Edge NXT)
- Manage, maintain and optimise constituent and gift data on Raiser’s Edge NXT to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support the Database Officer with processing incoming donations from online giving platforms including JustGiving and Fundraise Up to ensure accurate integration and reconciliation.
- Support the Database Officer with monthly reconciliations between Raiser’s Edge NXT and the income spreadsheet.
- Work with the Database Manager to develop and manage Omatic Cloud automated processes for importing constituent and gift data from external fundraising platforms.
- Support the Database Manager in designing and monitoring database KPIs.
- Lead data cleansing and housekeeping projects including data retention, consent and Gift Aid reviews identifying areas for improvement and implementation of best practice in collaboration with the Database Manager and Database Officer.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who can bring significant income-generating expertise to a new challenge. Purpose of the Role
The Director of Income role is responsible for leading our income generation. Our fundraising strategy is to significantly grow and further diversify our income, with a particular focus on corporate and trading income. The postholder will coordinate our fundraising activity, lead our Outreach team and work closely with the CEO to drive forward our income generation so we can safely deliver our ambitious strategy over the next 5 years.
In particular, the postholder will be responsible for coordinating and developing our income function, converting our strategic fundraising objectives into operational plans, managing the Head of Outreach and representing the organisation externally. However, the role is not solely governance and leadership - we need a do-er who is comfortable working in a small team and sharing responsibilities, including submitting fundraising proposals and taking responsibility for our reporting. They will work closely with the CEO, Director of Programmes, Head of Outreach and Communications and Fundraising Coordinator to ensure we are communicating our value proposition coherently and effectively to the important stakeholders that make our work possible.
We do not see this as a traditional fundraising director role - we are looking for a skilled generalist who can meet us where we are at by working confidently across Trusts and Foundations, statutory grants, corporate partnerships and traded services simultaneously. We are a small charity with 10 staff, so while we are looking for a decision-making and accountable leader, the postholder will be expected to support colleagues across the organisation. About the role
You will have strategic responsibility for statutory fundraising at Sense, excluding commissioned work. Working closely with the Head of High Value Relationships, the CEO and senior operational colleagues, you will shape and deliver a statutory fundraising strategy that supports organisational priorities and long term sustainability.
The role includes managing an annual statutory income budget of £1.5 million and leading relationships with government, lottery and public sector funders.

We are now recruiting for a new Events & Community Executive to join the frontline of our fundraising stewardship, so strong relationship skills and a love of creating great supporter experiences are essential. Key Responsibilities
Event management and delivery
- Lead the delivery of the fundraising activities you are working on – monitoring objectives, budgets and the bigger picture to ensure that opportunities are seized and risks are minimised.

- Ensure your fundraising activities are delivered in line with fundraising law & regulations, and with PCR’s policies.

About the role

About the role
At the RSPCA Finchley Branch, we are seeking a practical and organised Branch Manager to support the delivery and development of our local animal welfare services and the oversight of our retail operations through the line management of Shop Managers.

Role purpose
This role supports the development of WorldSkills UK’s income and partnership activity by turning programmes and ideas into clear, compelling funding opportunities. You will work across teams to develop proposals, manage partnerships, and support reporting and planning processes that contribute to long-term financial sustainability.
You will play a key role in strengthening how we plan, communicate and deliver partnership activity, helping to build strong relationships with funders and partners while improving internal systems and processes.
Key tasks and responsibilities
Partnership and project delivery
· Manage delivery of partnerships and events, ensuring they are well planned, on time and within budget

The Role
The Research Grants Manager leads the design, delivery and governance of the Association’s research funding portfolio. The role ensures that all Association funded research schemes, including fellowships and project grants, are strategically configured, rigorously governed and effectively delivered in line with the Association’s Research Strategy.
The role will ensure that research funding schemes are aligned with external research developments and designed to maximise long-term impact. The role includes formal accountability for embedding high-quality, inclusive and structured lived experience participation within research funding processes.
The Research Grants Manager is the organisational lead for research funding operations, ensuring the Association maintains a sector-leading, transparent and strategically focused funding programme.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the design and operational delivery of Association research funding, including fellowships and project grant schemes.
- Accountable for the governance of funding mechanisms, ensuring fairness, compliance with governance standards and integration within existing research management systems.
- Management of expert review and award decision processes, ensuring robust scientific assessment, transparent decision-making and strategic alignment with organisational priorities.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality and inclusive lived experience involvement within research funding processes.
- Provide authoritative insight about Association funded research to communications, fundraising, policy and service development colleagues to assist with media and fundraising opportunities.
- Contribute to effective financial planning and budget monitoring across all funding schemes, including forecasting, risk management and reporting.
About You
You will:
- Be educated to post graduate level in a science, health, social science or related discipline
- Have experience of research management in a life science setting, including management of research funding award cycles
