The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force in schools. Job Description: Commercial Income Lead

Role purpose
The Commercial Income Lead is a senior, entrepreneurial role responsible for shaping, growing and diversifying West Horsley Place’s commercial income.
This is a highly proactive position for a self-starter who thrives on identifying opportunity, creating new sales channels and turning ideas into deliverable, income-generating activity. The postholder will develop and lead commercial strategy while remaining closely involved in hands-on sales, client management and on-site delivery.
The role oversees a broad portfolio including corporate venue hire, filming and photography, third-party commercial activity and estate partnerships. It also provides strategic oversight of weddings and private events, line-managing the Weddings & Private Events Coordinator who leads day-to-day sales and delivery in that area.
Key responsibilities
Commercial leadership & strategy
- Develop and lead a clear commercial income strategy, aligned with the Trust’s charitable purpose and long-term sustainability.
- Identify, test and launch new sales channels, commercial products and partnerships, taking ideas from concept to implementation.
- Drive income growth by improving yield, diversifying offer and unlocking under-utilised assets across the house and estate.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity, using insight to evolve pricing, positioning and proposition.
Sales & business development
- Personally lead sales activity for corporate hire, filming/location hire and other non-wedding commercial use.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, agents, production companies and partners to generate repeat business and referrals.
- Represent West Horsley Place confidently in commercial negotiations and external relationships.
Planning & delivery
- Act as commercial lead for the planning and on-site delivery of non-wedding hires and events.
- Ensure high standards of delivery, client experience, risk management and operational coordination.
- Work closely with colleagues, contractors and tenants to ensure smooth delivery with minimal impact on public activity.
- Review performance and delivery post-event, embedding learning and continuous improvement.
Filming, traders & partnerships
- Serve as principal contact for filming and location hire, including management of the relationship with the location agency.
- Oversee relationships with regular and seasonal traders and third-party hirers.
- Identify, negotiate and secure commercial partnerships and estate-based opportunities that align with the Trust’s values and character.
Weddings & private events – strategic oversight
- Provide strategic oversight of weddings and private events to ensure alignment with wider commercial objectives.
- Line-manage the Weddings & Private Events Coordinator, setting priorities, supporting development and monitoring performance.
- Enable cross-support between weddings and other events where appropriate, while protecting the coordinator’s primary focus on wedding sales and delivery.

· Work closely with Rotary Engagement Manager and wider Community Team to deliver major disaster plans during periods of heightened activity, with the objective of maximising fundraising revenue and enhancing public awareness of ShelterBox's mission.
· Develop, manage and maintain administrative systems and processes underpinning the plan, including establishing regular reporting and monitoring functions to report against KPIs and budget.
· Represent the work of ShelterBox at key Rotary events in line with the engagement plan, helping to foster key relationships.
· Ensure collaboration and cross promotion of key fundraising activities and campaigns.

· Produce detailed annual action plans and evaluations on specific areas of responsibility, identifying areas for growth/development and outlining measurable objectives.

Prospect Research and Future Planning
- Proactively carry out detailed and organised research to identify fundraising opportunities across Trust and Foundations.
- Maintain and build a forward-looking pipeline of prospective funding opportunities, ensuring applications are prioritised appropriately based on size, alignment and/or application deadline.
- Support us to develop our Trusts and Foundations Strategy including target income, relationship management and best practice.
Writing Proposals
- Crafting well-written, well-presented and compelling funding applications, taking the time to understand each funder and individually tailor our approach to their criteria.
- Match new and existing applications with specific elements of our work to increase chances of success.
- Help to develop a compelling Case for Support, ensuring we are accurately conveying the impact of our work and maintaining consistency across our applications whilst allowing for nuance.
Building Relationships

- Our adventure residentials are the core of what we do, and we believe it’s hard to understand the unique power of our work with young people and convey this to others until you experience it yourself. You’ll join us for two residentials (at least!) per year, working alongside our cohorts of young people to immerse yourself in the work which sits at the heart of the organisation. You do not need any special skills as full training will be provided but you do need to be “up for the challenge”. We do lots of adventurous activities in all weathers so being something of an outdoorsy person would be a definite advantage!
Corporate Fundraising
We are looking to develop a Corporate income stream, led by our Senior Leadership team, by building bespoke and unique relationships with companies based in Yorkshire. If you have skills and experience in this area, you may support us to develop this new strand of our work. This new and exciting venture is currently in the preliminary development stages, however roles and responsibilities may look something like:
- Continually undertaking prospect research to identify corporate partners who we can build long-lasting, meaningful relationships with.
- Contacting prospective corporate partners and coordinating meetings with new and existing corporate partners.
- Supporting us to develop our pitch and offering to prospective corporate partners, creating bespoke partnerships which demonstrate our ethos, culture and impact.
- Support us to develop new ways corporate partners can be involved in our work for mutual benefit.
- Support the development of our stewardship and account management process, including new and innovative ways to develop relationships and monitor impact.

About the role
As our WaterAid UK Head of Legal & Compliance, you will lead the Legal, Data Protection and Fundraising Compliance team in providing advice, support and challenge to ensure WaterAid complies with all applicable regulations and legislation
and follows best practise. You will work closely with Trustees and Directors Team to drive sustainable change.
In this role, you will:
- Provide sound legal support and specialist advice to all levels of the organisation for contracts between WaterAid UK and third parties (including commercial contracts, contracts for services including consultancy contracts, fundraising contracts, donor/grant agreements and agreements with implementing partners, as well as media Intellectual Property and IT agreements).
- Prepare, negotiate and advise on commercial and legal matters relating to complex matters.
- Support the organisation to review contracts, to recognise and respond to risk, especially in relation to restricted income funding contracts.
- Lead and manage the main point of contact for all legal queries across WaterAid, referring to external advice only when necessary.
- Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.
Requirements
To be successful, you will need:
- A qualified solicitor (English law) with significate post-qualification experience.
- A combination of commercial and contract law and practice experience. Legal experience gained in–house and private practice environment, including in international organisations, the charity sector experience is preferred but not essential.
- Proactive approach to identifying legal risks and providing pragmatic and balanced solutions, manage expectations; maintain confidentiality at all times and display high ethical standards.
- Ability to build credibility quickly and communicate effectively across different cultures and business needs with good written communication skills, able to convey information clearly and accurately.

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and values‑led Accommodation & Facilities Manager to take responsibility for the safe, compliant and welcoming management of all Baca accommodation, offices and service delivery spaces.
This is a critical role within our service model. You will ensure that young people are provided with homes they can truly call their own, while staff and volunteers have safe, functional, culturally respectful environments in which to work. You will also lead our premises team and work closely with contractors, landlords and partners to deliver high‑quality, compliant properties across our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management of all Baca accommodation, offices, and service delivery spaces applying practical and technical knowledge and experience to diagnose maintenance issues, oversee and complete repairs.
- Ensure properties are safe, welcoming, culturally appropriate, and fully compliant with health & safety and regulatory standards
- Lead maintenance planning to support short-, medium-, and long-term property sustainability
- Line manage and support three Maintenance Workers, working collaboratively with service teams and leaders
