East London Students' Union is a progressive charity that supports around 25,000 students that study at the University of East London. We are based in one of the most diverse boroughs in Europe and our membership proudly reflects the communities where we are based.

Our purpose is to support and empower our students by representing their views and providing a range of supportive services, events and activities to make university life the amazing experience it should be. Our Docklands offices, meeting rooms and reception area were fully refurbished last year. In Stratford, our new with sitting-around areas, reception, performance rooms and meetings room opened. In January, we opened our first café, on our Docklands campus. Our second café is currently under construction and will open on our Stratford campus in mid-September.

We're now working to build a students' union that champions their aspirations and can deliver what's needed to make a difference. We're excited about this and have invested in several new posts to give us the expertise needed. We're in the last year of our strategic plan and will be starting work on our next phase later this year.

As an advice caseworker, you’ll provide impartial advice to students on academic matters, and represent and support students in meetings and panels in more complex cases. You’ll use your experience to help us do more preventive work to help our students to take action on their own behalf. Engagement Officer

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Locality Impact directorate and focus on Engagement in their area.

Position: S11308 Engagement Officer

Location: Home-based East of England, specific focus Essex. However, extensive and frequent travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Salary: Circa £11,500 per annum (FTE circa £27,400 per annum)

Hours: Part-time, 14 hours per week

Contract: This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months

The Role

Reporting to the Engagement Lead, the Engagement Officer will work with colleagues across the locality to deliver against engagement activity.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Planning, facilitation and evaluation of the online Stroke Information Programme

· Identifying, building and maintaining key relationships with key stakeholders.

· Developing and enabling peer support and self-sustaining stroke communities in the locality.

· Providing support and management to volunteers and people with Lived Experience.

· Supporting delivery of Engagement and Service projects in Essex.

About You

You will have experience/understanding of:

· Involvement and developing support using Co-Production.

· Community Development.

· Online Facilitation

· Recruiting, managing and developing volunteers.

· Working in partnership with other organisations, ideally in voluntary, health and social care.

· Supporting groups and developing networks.

This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

The role is responsible for ensuring the charity operates within a robust governance framework and complies with all relevant statutory, regulatory, and internal requirements. Pay - £2,250 per Form F Assessment / £37.50 per hour,  plus £250 bonus for ‘panel ready’ assessments, plus £250 bonus for completion within 16 weeks, plus 45p mileage

We are recruiting sessional assessing social workers to undertake Form F assessments .  Our assessments are undertaken face to face. Applicants should be able to travel across South London, Dorset and Hampshire areas for assessment visits to prospective foster carers. Travel will include the following areas.

• South London, Dorset and Hampshire.

Key Duties for Form F Assessors include:

• To undertake and complete Form F assessments in the timescale set out in our policy and guidance.
• To visit personal referees as identified on application form for prospective foster carers.
• To ensure that all checks and references are undertaken and completed.
• To provide to the supervisor, regular written updates of the draft assessment.
• To liaise with our administrative team concerning the progress of administrative checks and completion of the Form F.
• To be available for supervision, consultation or liaison as required.
• To be available to present completed Form Fs to the virtual fostering panel and provide support to the applicants through this process.
• To be aware of our child protection procedures and immediately report any child protection matter or concerns to a TACT manager and any relevant placing authority and the area authority.
• To carry out the duties in line with our Foster Carer and Supervising Social Worker Standards and Practice Guidance.

Rates of Pay for Form F Assessors

• We will pay £2250 (inclusive of VAT) + up to £500 bonus payments (if criteria are met) upon submission of a successfully completed Form F Assessment.
• £37.50 per hour for assessments which are not completed, and any other piece of work.

You will be DipSW, CSS or CQSW qualified and registered with the relevant regulatory body (Social Work England).

An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role and will be undertaken  by TACT on your behalf.
