Background and purpose

We are the only UK-wide charity for everyone affected by a genetic and acquired bleeding disorder. 

At the Haemophilia Society (THS) we want to empower everyone affected by a bleeding disorder to live life to the full, whatever your stage in life.

One in 2,000 men, women and children in the UK have a diagnosed bleeding disorder, which are a group of conditions, including haemophilia and von Willebrand disorder, that result when the blood cannot clot properly. 

As many as a third of bleeding disorder diagnoses have no known family history and can be the result of a random gene mutation. This means a bleeding disorder diagnosis can come completely out of the blue.

THS brings together people with bleeding disorders and their families to share experiences and understand more about how to live well with a bleeding disorder. Together, we can all make a difference.

About the role

We’re incredibly lucky to have a generous and dedicated community who are always looking for new ways to support our work. We are looking for a passionate fundraiser who can take ownership of our community fundraising and empower our members and supporters in their fundraising ventures. You’ll act as the face of THS for people looking to raise money in a variety of wonderful ways – ensuring they have what they need to be as successful as possible. This will include managing a number of key events such as the London Marathon, Ride London and Swim Serpentine. 

This role would be ideal for someone with 2-3 years’ experience and looking to take the next step in their fundraising career. As part of a small team, you’ll be excited about getting involved in all areas of community and events fundraising, building relationships with our members and driving our fundraising strategy forward. 

The purpose of the role is to:

Community Fundraising

·Supporting and running the community fundraising activities - engaging our centres, signing up new members, stewarding our donors, being the key point of our enquiries

·Organisation and delivery of mass participation events

·Providing guidance and supporting participants in promoting their efforts on social media

·Spotting opportunities for business development with organisations

• Provide guidance and support for supporters undertaking community fundraising and act as a key first point of call. Developing and improving the supporter journey with new materials.
• Organise and project manage events and fundraising campaigns. Add new fundraising campaigns and events to the calendar.
• Develop key materials needed to promote events and fundraising campaigns. Source case studies we can use to promote events, as well as the charity and use them in publications and socials.
• Keeping up-to-date records and giving timely recognition of donations using our CRM system
• Creating fundraising communications to encourage greater participation, working with our Communications Officer and liaising with members and volunteers. 
• Working to strict deadlines to ensure that fundraising activity is widely promoted and the success of fundraisers is celebrated to encourage greater take-up of fundraising activities. 
• Representing the charity at events hosted by community and corporate supporters. Representing the charity at services events promoting fundraising.
• Showcasing the work of the organisation and speaking confidently at events about our work to connect fundraisers to our cause and encourage fundraising.
• Developing engaging national fundraising campaigns.
• Thinking creatively, developing action plans and budgets to support national campaigns like World Haemophilia Day and TalkingRed. You will be able to understand the diverse needs and abilities of our community and create accessible fundraising initiatives that work for a geographically dispersed supporter base.
• Understanding and maintaining relationships with external suppliers for fundraising e.g. Great North Run, Just Giving, London Marathon etc. to ensure that we are abreast of any new trends and developments, or promotional opportunities.

• Experience of organising and supporting events and/or community fundraising in a voluntary or paid role.

We are seeking an experienced fundraiser who can work with us on a part time, freelance basis (Sept/Oct 2025 - January 2026) for a fee of £16Kto produce and undertake the following specialist services:

• Research and produce a bespoke 18-month Fundraising Plan for the Trust, with a particular focus on Museums, collections, community engagement, conservation and organisational resilience. 
• To start the delivery of the plan by undertaking specialist fundraising activities to trusts and foundations and to apply for opportunities that will help generate new incomes for the Trust and boost our ability to delivery our Business plan and Museum Developments. This will include a refreshed donations plan for our sites to come into action before Christmas.
• To advise and produce a business case for a long-term fundraising resource for the Trust.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced, high-performing Challenge Events Lead to drive forward a flagship portfolio of challenge  fundraising events with strategic control, operational excellence and a deep sense of ownership.

This is a senior delivery role, accountable for all aspects of planning, executing and evaluating complex fundraising events across Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation, Evelina London Children’s Charity, and Guy’s Cancer Charity. This position requires someone who can operate independently, manage high-value partnerships, oversee delivery risks, and influence cross-functional teams with credibility.

You will be expected to take initiative, lead relationships and processes without supervision, and support junior colleagues in upholding the highest operational standards. A key element of this role is working closely with the Events Fundraising Co-ordinator to ensure seamless delivery — offering guidance and support across all operational touchpoints, while also benefiting from their delivery support in return.

Overall Purpose of the role

The Challenge Events lead plays a critical role within the fundraising team, combining strategic oversight with a hands-on commitment to delivery excellence. At a time of organisational transformation and ambitious long-term growth, this role is central to building the operational foundations and supporter experiences that will enable our 10-year vision to succeed.  

This role will provide clear direction and structure to the planning and execution of our event portfolio, while remaining close to the operational detail — streamlining processes, refining supporter journeys, and driving performance through data, insight and continuous improvement.  

This role is responsible for setting high standards across everything from partnership engagement to on-the-day execution. It requires someone who is comfortable working autonomously, leading high-value relationships with professionalism and precision, and bringing creative thinking to how we engage and retain our event supporters. 

The Challenge Events Lead will also guide and support the Events Fundraising Co-ordinator, working in close partnership to deliver exceptional stewardship across the supporter lifecycle and elevate every touchpoint — from first sign-up to post-event celebration. 

This is a key opportunity for an experienced event professional to shape the future of events at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation and play a leading role in how we build supporter loyalty, scale income, and strengthen our presence in third-party partnerships.  

Key Responsibilities

• Independently lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of a portfolio of flagship challenge events — including the London Marathon, London Landmarks Half, Brighton Marathon, Ultra Challenges and other third-party partnerships — ensuring a high standard of execution and supporter experience.
• Drive and manage Charity of the Year pipelines and partnerships, contributing to long-term income growth and brand visibility through strategic relationship-building and high-profile placement.
• Act as the strategic lead and primary relationship manager for key external partners (e.g. London Marathon Events, delivery agencies), safeguarding supporter experience, brand integrity and value across all touchpoints.
• Oversee console and registration systems, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience for participants from sign-up through to post-event engagement, while proactively identifying areas for optimisation.
• Develop and manage detailed event budgets, including forecasting, tracking, reconciliation, and net income reporting — with a clear place allocation strategy that aligns with ROI, supporter demand, and market trends.
• Lead on portfolio-level financial accountability, using budget performance, participation data and market insight to inform decisions around where to invest, expand, or strategically scale back — ensuring resources are directed where they’ll deliver the strongest return and long-term value.
• Lead on supporter acquisition strategy across owned and paid channels — including ballot management, grassroots marketing, and behavioural communications — to ensure high-quality leads, strong retention and long-term supporter engagement.
• Provide operational oversight, guidance and mentorship to the Events Fundraising Co-ordinator, ensuring clarity of roles, consistency of delivery, and strong compliance across all areas of shared responsibility.
• Collaborate on planning and execution of end-to-end stewardship journeys — from registration to celebration — ensuring data-led, insight-driven improvements and meaningful supporter experiences at every stage.

Work environment

• The post holder should expect to:
• Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home. 
• Be responsible for the input and maintenance of databases and files relevant to the post requirements.
• Will occasionally be required to attend events in the evening and at weekends.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

This role requires significant, hands-on operational experience. Applicants will need to demonstrate clear evidence of independently managing event budgets, leading on strategy and logistics, and owning high-level external partnerships.
 

Essential Experience

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience independently delivering large-scale fundraising events, with full responsibility for logistics, budgeting, and strategic outcomes.
• Strong track record in supplier management, live event delivery, and compliance — including health & safety, risk assessments, and insurance.
• Proven success managing high-value relationships with third-party organisers (e.g. London Marathon Events), including negotiating terms and ensuring delivery excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage ambitious budgets, including forecasting, reforecasting, reporting and cost-efficiency tracking.
• Deep knowledge of event marketing and acquisition strategies — including ballot processes, audience segmentation, targeting, and grassroots recruitment.
• Experience designing and delivering multi-channel stewardship journeys, with a clear understanding of behavioural communications across email, SMS, WhatsApp, phone and face-to-face touchpoints — and how these influence retention, satisfaction and performance.

About the Role

The Queen’s Reading Room is funded entirely by grants, donations, sponsorship and income from events. We’re looking for a vibrant and well-connected individual to join the small but agile team, to lead this function within the charity and design and set up a fundraising committee. You will build on a strong base of income generation and work to sustain and expand it.

You will be responsible for building the fundraising strategy with the charity’s CEO and Board of Trustees; for identifying appropriate opportunities to generate funding in the UK and internationally; and for the targets agreed by the CEO and board. You will be comfortable with, and have experience in, the world of high profile and high net-worth individuals, legacy fundraising, fundraising and friendraising events. You will know how to build relationships with individual donor prospects along with charitable trusts, foundations and other institutional funders. You will attend networking events and meetings with potential donors.

Your role will include devising and creating fundraising events; securing sponsorship for events and festivals; contributing to the writing and submitting of funding applications to charitable trusts and foundations; and advising and providing suitable copy for fundraising marketing and digital materials. You will work with the team to create case studies and grant reports, sharing and telling great stories to supporters to ensure that they understand the difference that their donations make and with a view to securing repeat support.

You’ll create new relationships by preparing and delivering pitches, talks and presentations and prepare reports and give presentations on fundraising progress to the CEO and the Board of Trustees.

You will join as a key member of the organisation, alongside the CEO, Director of Operations, Director of MarComms, Head of Talent, Head of Production and Team Researcher.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of significant and sustained income generation. You’ll have a track record of managing and developing relationships with individual donors and be committed to building good internal and external relationships. You will have experience of performing due diligence and have a careful and considered approach to fundraising. Your knowledge of the fundraising market will be excellent. You will understand the complexity of the charity landscape and the sensitivities of the role. You will understand the need for confidentiality to be paramount.

Strong writing and presentation skills are essential.

There will be a lot going on at once, so we’ll be looking for someone who is flexible with changing priorities and who has excellent administrative, IT, organisational and planning skills. You’ll be able to prioritise your workload, manage administration and be able to work independently. You will be an excellent team player but be able to take responsibility for your own work stream.

Community Engagement Officer – NatureCityNorwich

About the role

We are looking for two experienced Community Engagement Officers to support NatureCityNorwich – a three-year multi-partner project supported through Nature Towns and Cities, a programme funded by National Lottery players to help urban areas protect and enhance their natural heritage.

The project will co-create a community-led urban nature recovery action plan, placing nature and people at the heart of Norwich’s future. It will map and address the city’s ‘nature gaps’, improve access to green and blue spaces, and empower communities to shape a more resilient, biodiverse and inclusive city.

The role will see the successful applicants carrying out an extensive listening and engagement programme across Norwich to support an ambitious community-led nature recovery action plan for the city. You’ll work closely with partners including Norwich City Council, Norfolk County Council, South Norfolk and Broadland District Council and other key stakeholders to create a lasting legacy for nature in the city.

Role Summary

• The School Engagement Coordinator for Northern Ireland serves as a crucial liaison for the Into Film programme in the region. This role involves actively engaging with schools and educators to promote and support their participation in various initiatives related to film, games, and creative media.
• The Engagement Coordinator will be instrumental in ensuring that schools and teachers have access to the full range of educational resources, training, and opportunities offered by Into Film. They will collaborate closely with the Northern Ireland team to provide tailored support and foster meaningful connections between schools, the creative arts, and the industry.

Given the nature of the role, the Co-ordinator may need to work occasional weekends and extended hours, as well as travel regularly to designated regions and occasionally elsewhere in the UK.

Main Responsibilities: 

• Proactively engage with schools, teachers, and educational stakeholders across Northern Ireland to raise awareness of Into Film's programmes and resources.
• Deliver a range of educational activities, including school workshops, screenings and industry events, tailored to the needs of the local area.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with schools, creative organisations, and screen industry bodies to support the delivery of Into Film's initiatives in NI.
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of Northern Ireland-specific programmes, including Story Builder, Games, Teaching with Film, Careers and Progression, and Young Creatives.
• Collaborate with teams across Into Film to ensure a joined-up approach to programme delivery, KPI achievement, and budgetary oversight.
• Ensure that Into Film's programmes respond to local needs and reach across Northern Ireland, while also feeding into the organization's UK-wide initiatives.
• Manage local partnerships and relationships, utilising CRM (Salesforce) to input and analyse data, create reports, and inform programme design.

Person Specification:

Minimum Requirements:

• Significant experience in designing and delivering engaging educational programmes, including youth workshops and industry-facing events.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Northern Ireland education system, curriculum, and the local creative/screen industries.
• A track record of establishing and nurturing partnerships with schools, organisations, and industry stakeholders.
• Proven ability to successfully manage projects, including cross-departmental collaboration, budget oversight, and timely delivery.
