About the role
We are the largest membership body for voluntary organisations in England. The needs of communities are diverse and ever-changing. This means the role charities play, and what they need, constantly evolve.
We hold a wealth of data. We need our data to become meaningful insight that helps tell the story of our members and the sector. Both to aid internal strategic decision making and to influence external audiences.
The insight lead will be integral to realising this ambition ‒ combining our analytical and sector research with our internal data. They will establish NCVO’s Insight Hub which will house the highest quality data and insight, and be respected and valued by external stakeholders.
We’re already revered for our Almanac and other research projects, which the insight lead will further expand. They will also develop the strategy, review our research programme, and embed a culture of using insights across the organisation.
This is a dual role. The insight lead will act as a champion for the voice of the customer internally – ensuring business decisions and strategic priorities are based on insight, and that we’re collecting and managing data in the most compliant way.
They will also take a strong external leadership approach ‒ looking for partners, technologies, AI solutions and funding opportunities so we can strengthen what we know about the sector, and how we report and share information. They will review our existing approach to research and harness opportunities from our unique perspective.

About Spark
Spark is a free face-to-face young people’s group for 12-17 year olds. Spark is funded by Building Life Chances and focuses on the benefits of using creativity to benefit our wellbeing.
The group is a drop-in, offering a safe and inclusive space for young people to connect socially with peers, explore different creative activities, build confidence, access support for their mental health and develop positive coping strategies and resilience.
Purpose of the Post
The purpose of this post is to facilitate our new weekly Spark Young People’s Group. This service sits within our Children and Young People Services and is an informal drop-in group for Young people aged 12-17 years old. It will run on a Tuesday evening between 6:00pm and 8:00pm at our Watford Wellbeing Centre.
The group centres around using creativity to improve young people’s emotional wellbeing and mental health, providing young people with a safe space to connect with peers, engage with diverse creative activities and develop their confidence and self-esteem.
The Group Facilitator will:
- Play an integral role in instilling HMN’s values through the Spark Service.
- Facilitate the Spark group, being the sole member of paid staff running this service.
- Provide consistent and clear management of a volunteer who will assist with facilitating the group.
- Play a key part in the development and delivery of quality CYP support services.
The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s Spark Service are:
- To provide a safe space for Young People to attend in Watford.
- To promote the exploration of creativity to support with developing positive mental health.
- To support young people who attend the group with developing healthy coping strategies and resilience in relation to personal challenges and/or mental health difficulties.
- To provide information, advice, guidance and signposting based on the young people who attend the group’s needs.
- To support the young people attending the group to connect with one another, build relationships and increase social skills.
- To aid young people in increasing a sense of independence, safety, confidence and inclusivity.
- Integrate the group into the local community through establishing a positive presence/reputation and building relationships with other local organisations.

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser, to lead on fundraising in the Department of Physics, as part of the friendly team working across the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences (MPLS) Division.
The Department of Physics is one of the top five departments in the world. About the role:
You will be raising money to support research; to enable students from around the world and from every background to come and study at Oxford; and to help promote the public understanding of Physics. You will work closely with the Head of Physics, as well as some of the most inspiring scientists in the world, and will forge relationships with existing and new donors to the department. While an interest in science is essential, you do not need to be a Physics graduate, just an enthusiast for knowledge.

You are an experienced development professional with a strong track record of securing major gifts, a confident approach and the ability to think creatively. You will lead on major gift fundraising (£100k-£1m+) working with a range of donors (corporates, trusts and individuals). Administration
1. Calendar Management:

- Act as the primary point of contact between the CEO and internal/external stakeholders.

Fundraising
1. Fundraising, Research and Monitoring
- Assist the CEO and fundraising team with research for funding applications and cultivation campaigns.
- Develop and maintain a proactive prospect pool of potential funders in conjunction with the CEO and fundraising team.
- In conjunction with the CEO and fundraising team collate and compile funding applications and reports.
- Work with the fundraising team, CEO and senior management team to continue developing the theatre’s case for support, fundraising collateral, supporter crediting and events.
- Provide regular reports and updates on fundraising activities to the CEO and stakeholders and Board.
2. CRM and digital records
- Ensure finance and other colleagues are updated through agreed processes on fundraising income raised.
3. Donor Stewardship and Reporting
- Demonstrate to funders and donors the impact of their support on audiences and communities through the creation of compelling project reports. When necessary, provide evidence including showcasing outcomes, case studies and achievements to supporters.
- Prepare thank-you letters and donation receipts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Additionally, oversee the monitoring of reporting deadlines and requirements and donation reports in conjunction with the CEO and fundraising team as needed.
The successful candidate will have (essential criteria):
- Proven experience as an Executive Assistant, Fundraising Officer or similar role, supporting C-level executives
- An enthusiasm for administration and/or fundraising
- Evidence of a proactive attitude to work and the ability to take the initiative
