We are seeking a self-motivated Member Support and Administrative Assistant to play a key role in our friendly team. The successful candidate will liaise with colleagues across the organisation focused on membership, communications, marketing and delivery, and as a result get invaluable insight into these functions. Once established in post the successful candidate will also benefit from our nine-day fortnight working pattern (providing a long weekend twice a month).

Background Information

PSHE (personal, social, health and economic) education is the school curriculum subject that prepares pupils for life and work.  PSHE lessons cover some of the most pressing issues facing young people today including mental and physical health, relationships, staying safe online, economic wellbeing, careers and the importance of equality and diversity.

The PSHE Association is the national body for the subject. A charity and membership organisation, the Association supports a national network of over 50,000 teachers and schools with resources, training and guidance. We work nationally to raise PSHE standards for all children and raise its status on the curriculum. This includes working in partnership with a range of leading charities, government bodies, corporates and other partners. Role description

The applicant will be expected to take on a variety of responsibilities associated with supporting our national membership of PSHE education teachers and other professionals. This will include fielding phone and emailed member queries in a timely and friendly fashion and logging queries and activities on our membership database. The role will also include supporting the organisation and administration of the office, including processing memberships and payments, and maintaining and updating our database of contacts, supporting online training event bookings and logistics as well as supporting the team as required.

Terms of Reference

The post is offered on a full time basis, on a permanent contract with a six-month probationary period. The salary will be £28,500.

At the PSHE Association, we believe in a healthy work-life balance. That is why we offer a nine-day fortnight working pattern, giving our team every other Friday off (in other words a long weekend twice a month). We believe this gives employees more time to recharge and more time for what matters to them. This shorter working week benefit (equivalent to 32 hours per week on full pay) kicks in once employees have successfully completed three months of their probationary period, with a standard 35-hour working week in place up until that point. 

Our offices are based in central London, close to Russell Square, and this is where the role will be primarily based alongside some days of the week working from home.

The West Yorkshire Programme Manager will be responsible for the strategic and effective organisation of tutoring programmes delivered in primary, secondary and post-16 settings within West Yorkshire. Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the primary point of contact for senior leaders in schools, MATs, and the wider education sector across West Yorkshire.
• Secure and deliver presentations to school and college leaders to expand Tutor Trust’s network of partner institutions.

 Programme Leadership & Delivery

• Take lead responsibility for monitoring safeguarding processes within your teams.

Tutor Recruitment & Development

• Support the recruitment and onboarding of tutors in collaboration with the recruitment team.
• Contribute to the training and development of new tutors, ensuring alignment with organisational standards.

 General Duties

• Assist with the planning and delivery of events for a range of stakeholders.
• Attend regular Partnership Operations team meetings led by the Programme Director.

Job Purpose: 

To oversee the management and growth of Venue Hire for our historic spaces covering meetings, conferences, talks, weddings and community activities. This is our primary source of income and key to supporting our library and learning programme, alongside our theatre income and fundraising.

The role will also lead on identifying and developing new business opportunities for other commercial income streams, building relationships with clients and partners, and ensuring that commercial activity supports the Foundation’s charitable purpose and long-term sustainability.

Optimising the use of space to ensure that St Bride Foundation (SBF) operates profitably as well as meeting the needs of our communities is a key part of the role. The Business Development and Events Manager will oversee the Venue Hire activity and promote the venue’s room resources, as well as supporting the Library and Workshop in the organisation of in-house courses, seminars and events.

Key Responsibilities: 

Events Management

• Manage the Events Team activity of promoting and selling the venue’s event spaces, ensuring SBF has good visibility on all relevant venue hire websites.
• Responding to and converting enquiries and monitoring conversion effectiveness.
• Managing clients’ needs for booked events.
• Negotiating contracts for both short and long-term use; and ensuring that all aspects of the venue are fit for purpose.

Terms & Conditions:

The Operations Assistant provides the coordination, administration and organisational support that enables New Wine's Operations Team to flourish. 

Working closely with the Head of Operations, this role supports the smooth running of the charity by coordinating recruitment administration, governance processes, office operations, compliance records, events and organisational systems.

Role Particulars 

Working Pattern 

Full-time, including weekly (Tuesday) in-person team meetings in London. The rhythm is as follows: All-staff meetings on 1st and 3rd week of the month, and individual Operational team days on the 2nd and 4th week of the month. The nature of this role means that some travel and working away from home will be required, as agreed in advance. Specifically, the post holder must be available for the annual leadership conference and the New Wine summer festival.

Supervision 

The post holder will receive regular supervision from the Head of Operations.

The Opportunity:

This is a dual-remit role combining ownership of our office environment with high quality support to our Core group.  The Core group is the c.40-person team that brings together the firm’s central support services

The successful candidate will be the person who keeps our single-floor, c.60-desk open plan office running smoothly day-to-day, and who provides reliable ‘EA-type’ support to the CFOO and the heads of the Core group’s sub-teams.  The role is fundamentally service-orientated: you will be the first person colleagues and visitors turn to, and your standards will set the tone for how the Core group serves the organisation.

This is a varied, high-trust role for someone who wants to be the person that makes things work and who has a desire to provide service that delights. It is a fully on-site role based at our Old Street office, five days a week – and that’s by design. As the person responsible for our workplace experience, your presence is what makes the difference. You’ll build relationships across every team, respond to needs in real time, and take genuine ownership of an environment that our team relies on each day.

What you will do:

Office Management

• Act as the day-to-day owner of our leased office floor, ensuring it is safe, welcoming, well-presented and fully operational at all times.

• Manage the relationship with the landlord and building management on all matters relating to the premises, including access, maintenance, repairs and building-wide communications.

• Manage relationships with our sub-lease tenants.

• Manage relationships with office-related suppliers (cleaners, maintenance contractors, security, plants and caterers) including contract renewals and service level monitoring.

• Manage department budget in line with our Responsible Procurement Policy, carrying out annual budgeting and reforecasting in collaboration with Finance team.
