The Bid Writer will work in our Business Development Team, planning, developing and writing high quality bid submissions that convey the organisation’s mission, values and expertise to commissioners and funders.
You will be responsible for coordinating strong tender submissions, resulting in successful outcomes. You will help ensure Cranstoun retains all existing contracts and wins new business, in line with the organisation’s strategic plans and targets for growth.
Within this role, you will work collaboratively with a variety of internal stakeholders, using exceptional writing and interpersonal skills to capture and convey Cranstoun’s approach to delivering services across a variety of areas.
We are seeking a confident self-starter, with demonstrable experience of high quality writing and clear evidence of successful outcomes in a business development context (70% success rate). The successful candidate will welcome the opportunity to tackle challenges and adopt a solutions-focused approach.

We are looking for someone who shares our passion for mental health and wellbeing, to take responsibility for the delivery of an effective and efficient External Affairs function, which meets the needs of our growing business.
The successful candidate will have the ability to influence government and health systems; manage a team to deliver planned and responsive communications; network with other professionals including journalists; and be comfortable in setting, monitoring and reporting performance measures, including reporting to CEO and board.
The role will be home-based, with occasional requirements to travel to our Head Office in Greater Manchester and to meetings in London, as well as less frequent meetings across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

What’s the job?
We’re seeking a commercially minded and proactive individual to lead on the delivery of the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) in the UK, along with related products for teachers and young people.
In this varied role, you’ll build and manage partnerships with commercial brands to provide high-value student discounts, work with educational institutions to expand B2B sales, and support marketing activity across digital channels including social media, email, and web. You’ll also contribute to reporting, relationship management, and the ongoing development of the product offer.
We’re looking for someone with experience in sales or account management, strong digital marketing skills, and a confident, collaborative approach to working with partners. Knowledge of the student or education sectors is a bonus, but not essential.

Who you are
To succeed in this role, you’ll need strong skills in sales, account management, and digital marketing. You should be confident in building and maintaining relationships with partners – from commercial brands to educational institutions – and be comfortable negotiating and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate with colleagues across teams. You’ll need to be organised, able to manage multiple projects at once, and confident working with data – including reporting on sales and marketing performance. A good working knowledge of tools like Microsoft Office and digital marketing platforms is important, and experience with affiliate platforms or CRM systems would be a plus. We’re looking for someone who brings initiative, attention to detail, and a positive, solutions-focused mindset. An understanding of the student market or education sector is helpful but not essential – what matters most is your ability to engage partners, drive results, and work sympathetically in a values led organisation where many of our outcomes focus on doing the right thing, with ethics at the heart of our work.
