Job description

A prestigious and well known international organisation is looking for a qualified accountant to join their high-performing team, to provide all-round finance project support whilst they undergo a period of change. This newly-created role will enable the team to meet the challenges and risks created by both the already-underway finance and systems change project, and COVID-19.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing finance-specific risks and undertaking discrete pieces of work in response (for example, their approach to VAT/Corporation tax, reviewing the financial sustainability of key suppliers, cashflow forecasting)
  • Investigating areas for, and implementing improvements to, budgeting, reporting and analysis tools whilst also improving processes and controls efficiencies
  • Working with the Finance Manager and Project Manager to implement the new finance system, which will include process definition and documentation, functional testing, UAT testing, data migration/cleansing, system implementation and ad hoc training
  • Working with the Fundraising and Project teams to develop, design and maintain policies and procedures supporting integration between the fundraising CRM and the finance system
  • Re-forecasting and re-budgeting in light of the impact of COVID-19

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with experience working in a similar project-focused role
  • Have experience carrying out discrete time-bound project work and of acting as the business partner for organisation-wide projects
  • Be knowledgeable of Charity SORP
  • Have excellent exposure to accounting packages and strong Excel skills, with proven experience assisting with a system implementation
  • Be agile and adaptable in your ability to work on multiple different projects simultaneously
