The Role
To help us fulfill our mission, we seek Grants Officers, who will oversee complex strategic grantmaking activity, triage, monitoring and compliance, and clearance of conflicts of interest, sanctions, and data privacy. They will also support with managing urgent leadership directed grants where necessary.
Key Responsibilities
As Grants Officer, you will report to the Associate Director, Grants Management and be responsible for:
- Contributing to annual planning for US-based entities, forecasting resource allocation needs throughout the year.
- Leading grant closeout procedures, overseeing the collection of overdue reports for all grants funded by US-based entities, conducting FPR, OSI, OSPC processes. Manage the completion of the Grant Closure Project, identifying obstacles to report collection and establishing standard procedures for closing grants, including those for US-based funded programmatic units.
- Coordinating with Finance, Accounting & Compliance teams for audits of Open Society's US-based entities, as well as the preparation of annual tax filings and financial statements.
- Managing departmental budget, retreat/meeting schedules, and professional development opportunities.
- Conducting pre-award/post-award due diligence to ensure grants align with US-based entities' funding requirements and foundation policies.
- Facilitating internal audits for the Grants Management department.
- Collaborating with opportunities/programs colleagues to ensure timely and efficient proposal compliance review, grant award structuring, issuance of grant letters, payments and amendments, and grant closeout reviews.
- Providing comprehensive education and training on grant award compliance, grantmaking processes, Foundation Connect, GrantSmith, and Analytics Studio within the department and to colleagues across Open Society.
- Serving as a resource for Grants Assistants and other Grants Management colleagues, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
- Assisting in Grants Management processes related to equivalency determination, expenditure responsibility, OFAC compliance, COI compliance, and data privacy.
- Ensuring data integrity in the grantmaking system and provide reporting and analysis.
- Monitoring grant payment schedules and program budgets, ensuring financial efficiency.
- Liaising with Communications, Finance, GARA, Information Technology, the Office of General Council, outside organizations, and/or affinity groups on matters of mutual interest.
- Developing, documenting, revising, and implementing Grants Management policies, procedures, documents, templates, and multimedia materials.
- Representing Grants Management in cross-departmental staff meetings, workshops, retreats, and working groups.
- Supporting internal Grants Management operations and contribute to special projects as needed.

Experience
The ideal candidate must have a University Degree (BA or Bsc) and have the following experience and competencies:
- Extensive career experience within a large and complex non-profit organization.
- Previous working experience in individual grantmaking.
- Deep understanding and vision of how grantmaking aligns with programmatic strategy complemented by effective grantmaking practices.

The post holder will also safeguard the financial integrity of the Society, its governance, and ensure it is fully compliant with all statutory requirements. Essential Criteria
- Fully Qualified Accountant
- Proven experience at a senior level in a finance role with responsibility across the whole finance function.
- Experience at a senior level as Company Secretary or equivalent
- Experienced in delivering finance system and/or ERP transformation
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop team members to their full potential.
- Demonstrated aptitude for strategic thinking, planning and analysis.
- Excellent financial planning, annual budgeting and forecasting skills
Desirable Criteria
- Charity sector experience particularly the nature of unrestricted, designated and restricted funds, VAT Partial Exemption, Gift Aid and the Charity SORP
- An understanding of education and qualification regulation and compliance
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central

About us
Providence Row believes that no one should have to sleep rough and that everyone should have access to the support they need to find a safe place to call home. The Rough Sleeping Drug and Alcohol Treatment Grant (RSDATG) programme was established in 2020 and is based within The Dellow Centre; run by Providence Row. The service aims to support and enhance the quality of life for all locally connected rough sleepers in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets; by offering through care service from initial engagement and harm reduction and for some, then moving into treatment, and then recovery.
The role:We are recruiting to fill two vacancies. The role will involve but is not limited to the following.
- Holding a caseload of people who are sleeping rough or at risk of homelessness through eviction, where their substance and/or alcohol use has impacted on their housing and ability to sustain accommodation
- To work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure positive outcomes are achieved, safeguarding is shared and to increase the persons access to support services.
- Increase the total number of people accessing structured treatment & recovery through a bespoke pathway for rough sleepers as well as sustain treatment for these individuals, reduce their risks, and support bespoke planned treatment exits or transitions into community-based services (continuity of care).
- Reducing barriers of accessing Primary Healthcare services, such as GP registration, attending hospital appointments and specialist health services by advocating for and supporting clients.
- Attending and coordinating client related MDT’s and attendance at meetings relating to the rough sleeping community
- Delivering a non-judgemental, non-coercive needle exchange service that centres each person’s own goals in regard to their substance use and overall wellness.
- You will lead on delivery of Naloxone distribution & training internally and to external partners
- You have excellent communication skills and can create positive working relationships with a wide range of people, including external services.
- You will support the development of the service and ensure that you are delivering a solution-focussed and strength-based approach.

Our Service delivers independent advice to Greenwich students, supporting them to stay and succeed at university. This role will specifically support students on our Greenwich and Avery Hill sites but you’ll also help students studying on our Medway campus, mainly.
The Students’ Union Advice Service is a professional, independent, and free service that empowers students to navigate academic regulation, and access support. The Student Adviser has a key role in providing professional advice to students 1-1 and in a group.
Looking at trend data, the role will support the team in developing insights into the needs of students studying at Greenwich.
Guided by this information, the post holder will develop new initiatives and facilitate service outreach to reduce the likelihood of issues arising in the first place.
This role sits within the Advocacy and Policy Team who focus on making 1-1 timely interventions to support students to succeed as well as identifying broader trends in student behavior to inform our strategic approach to services and support.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
This post holder will be part of the wider Advocacy and Policy Team and will be expected to contribute to departments wider objectives and planning.

Advice
- Provide academic processes and welfare advice to clients on relevant issues online, on the phone and in person.
- Take an empowering, client centred approach and, if necessary, act on behalf of the client to obtain information or advocate for them.
- Undertake peer review activities and supervision.
- To create and maintain accurate, comprehensive case records at all times; record all advice given and outcomes of any actions taken. Ensure confidentiality is adhered to.
Monitoring Trends
- Monitor trends in student casework and advice queries and report on these trends to inform Students’ Union practices and advocacy.
- Provide briefings, debriefs, reports, research and where appropriate attend forums and other meetings to ensure that advice service trends inform policy and practice improvements.
Outreach
- Support the development of new initiatives and facilitate service outreach, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups.
- Assist the team with a review of relevant reference materials and publicity for the service as requested.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with colleagues, to ensure we have a consistent approach to how we work with and support students.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships and links with appropriate staff in the University and with external agencies.

Fuel Bank - Support Administrator
Location – Remote based role with occasional travel to the Midlands for team meetings & training.

Fuel Bank Foundation is the only UK charity to focus on the challenges of people living in fuel crisis. We provide emergency financial support through our network of partners who identify people who cannot afford to pre-pay for their energy.
As a Support Administrator, you will work closely with the team to support the communications through the email inbox, holding telephone assessments and by the processing of queries and applications. You will also work closely with other departments within the charity and ensure clear and consistent communication is delivered and additional support is given where needed.

About the role
This is a vital role supporting the Workforce Development team through the effective coordination of activities associated with a number of initiatives carried out within WorldSkills UK, including the completion of an award-winning pilot programme supporting education institutions to mainstream excellence into the delivery of technical education.

Role purpose
The Project Coordinator will proactively support the programming, coordination and management of a number of projects within the WorldSkills UK portfolio, including the WorldSkills UK Centre of Excellence and Network for Innovation as well as the International Skills Partnership initiatives. As a Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant, you will provide high quality practical and emotional support to potential victims of modern slavery within a safehouse setting.
You will work as a member of the team providing a safe temporary environment for vulnerable adults who have experienced trauma and exploitation. The role will involve assisting service users with increasing practical skills and self-confidence to empower and enable independent and safe living.
This service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Applicants must be willing to work flexibly, which will include on call duties, evenings, weekends and bank. Both roles will work between two properties approximately 4 miles apart on a rota basis.

Job description
The Research Assistant (Social Research) will use social science methods and approaches to deliver evidenced-based and impactful work. The role is likely to cut across several work areas covered by the Research and Analysis (R&A) team including heat decarbonisation, building retrofit, affordable warmth, fairness in the energy transition, energy policy and local area energy planning.
Pay and conditions
- The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week).
- The salary for the role will be £25,953-£28,520 per annum.
- You will be entitled to 25 days paid holiday (plus statutory holidays).

Specific responsibilities
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
- Support the delivery of high quality quantitative and qualitative research.
- Assist with research design including developing appropriate methods and research tools (for example programming online survey, creating interview schedules).
- Assist with research administration including arranging data collection (like scheduling interviews) and keeping good data management records.
- Contribute robust analysis and reporting for project deliverables, publications, and consultations.
- Support CSE in winning new research work by inputting to proposals and tender responses.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of research and policy issues relevant to CSEs strategic priorities and the Research team’s project work.
- Manage your time on tasks to ensure the successful delivery of tasks.

All CSE staff receive training and are given study time to complete the NEA City & Guilds in Energy Awareness.
Essential attributes for this role include:
- A degree level qualification or equivalent research experience in a related field such as energy, environmental science, social sciences or similar.
- A minimum of two years’ experience working in a similar or related role.
- Experience of using social research methods and analysis techniques.
- Understanding and practice of social research ethics including GDPR and informed consent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to present research findings in accessible and compelling ways for a range of audiences, including policy makers.
- Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Good organisation skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Commitment to CSE’s mission.
