An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Risk & Assurance Manager to join our Audit, Risk & Governance Team. This role will require the successful candidate to support to the Head of Audit, Risk & Governance in the implementation and oversight of effective risk management and assurance policies and procedures for the whole organisation.

Role Requirements

 You will attend the Audit & Risk Committee and other board committees from time to time to present on risk and assurance.  With experience of delivering 2nd line risk and assurance activities within large, complex or heavily regulated organisation, you will be effective in building professional relationships and influencing and collaborating with colleagues from all disciplines and at all levels. 

You will need to engage effectively with frontline and support colleagues to really understand the needs of our beneficiaries and the risks to the charity more broadly.  The ultimate objective of risk management at The Children’s Trust is to ensure the charity continues to deliver high-quality, safe and effective and financially sustainable services for vulnerable children now and in the longer-term.

Although the role does not have any formal direct reports, the Risk & Assurance Analyst will have a dotted line into the Risk & Assurance Manager, providing support particularly on business continuity but also on risk management as and when necessary.

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

As Senior Committees Officer, you can manage a small team to support effective member engagement through committee secretariat services. This will suit you if have managed or supervised a team. This could be an opportunity if you are looking to move into formal management.

• Reviewing project delivery: You will work closely with Network Coaches to agree the most efficient outworking of the MEAL Framework with the Viva partner networks for projects where Viva has brokered funding.
• Evaluating Viva’s work: You will lead the process of evaluating Viva’s work, including but not limited to needs assessments, baseline survey, final evaluation, data quality audits, collecting monitoring data, network satisfaction surveys, and field supervision.
• Representing Viva: You will at different times and ways represent Viva externally, for example, through speaking in churches, prayer meetings, meeting with other Christian organisations.

This role will suit you if you:

• have at least a Bachelor’s degree in impact measurement or international development with a MEAL module, or a related field

You’ll refine our proposition and pricing of existing services, seeking opportunities to cross-sell additional services to existing audiences, as well as broadening our reach, engaging with completely new audiences and developing and shaping new commercial services aligned to new customer needs. You will have strong experience at senior level in driving commercial impact for good, and everything this involves in terms of income, growth, commercial strategy and delivery, and risk management. We operate a hybrid model of working which is heavily reliant on digital elements. The post holder will work with the Chief Executive and other senior staff to lead the team in maintaining and developing effective models of administration. 

The ability to work remotely as required and also support and supervise others using remote systems is essential to this role. Remote working systems rely significantly on the use of IT over a range of applications so a positive and creative approach to digital services and systems is essential. 

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and you will be responsible for the smooth running of the administration of the organisation. 

We are looking for someone with strong administrative skills and excellent computer skills, who is an effective communicator with experience of building relationships at all levels. You must also have experience of managing a diverse workload, and have strong planning and organisational skills.
