Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey has been established for over 100 years. We enable and empower people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind to overcome barriers and to be as independent as possible.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Children and Young People’s Service. The team enables and empowers children, young people and families to thrive, by providing a variety of vibrant and impactful services, activities and events.
This role would suit someone who enjoys and is skilled at supporting families to overcome barriers they face as a result of having a disabled child, including providing one to one support, practical assistance, and group workshops. Candidates should have experience of working with children, young people and families in a support role.
Key responsibilities
· Ensure parent carers have someone to work alongside them to help to overcome barriers they are facing as a family as a result of their child/’s sensory impairment.
· Provide practical assistance (such as letter writing and attending meetings with a parent carer) where this is needed. This will include assisting with the Education & Health Care Plan (EHCP) to ensure it accurately reflects their needs.
· To assess and identify when the needs of the children and their families are not being met and work with parents, other professionals, and organisations as appropriate to address the issues with the aim of ensuring that the children have the opportunities and environments that will enable them to reach their potential and achieve their aspirations.
· Reduce loneliness and social isolation for parent carers by both connecting them with wider parent carer support services, and by organising and facilitating opportunities for them to come together, such as through drop-in events at community café’s and parent led support groups.
· Empower and enable parent carers to have the knowledge, skills, confidence, and support they need to advocate for their child/children through organising group training workshops and development around specific topics, creating and sharing resources that will help, and through our Power to The Parents event.
· To support children and young people through transition from children’s services into adult services, engaging with SEND services and adult services where appropriate.
· To follow all policies, including those focused on confidentiality, equality, and diversity.
· Keep accurate and up to date records of work completed and support provided.
· Create, share and store two anonymised case studies each month which demonstrate the barriers faced by families, and the impact of the service.

THE ROLE

Pure Insight supports young people leaving care aged 16 – 28. Overall purpose of the role:
As our Participatory Research lead you will lead on the research element of the project alongside young people (design, fieldwork, analysis and reporting) to better understand and find solutions to young people’s experiences of violence in children’s services by carrying out research with up to 500 children and young people with lived experience of children’s services using different methods. You’ll work to produce a range of output materials sharing research findings and take a lead role in disseminating learning to stimulate and influence social action to local and national stakeholders. You’ll work closely with our new Youth Participation and Social Action lead to develop and oversee the project with support from our leadership team. You will also support the development of a small team of young people in paid peer research roles and provide training, mentoring and guidance to develop young people's skills, confidence and cultivate a supportive group dynamic.

About the Role
The MENA Death Penalty Caseworker will undertake a range of activities in support of Reprieve’s work on cases of individuals on death row or at risk of the death penalty across the MENA region, including casework and investigations into individual cases and the broader death penalty landscape, support to Reprieve clients, and support to partner organisations and lawyers in the MENA region and beyond. Several countries in the MENA region consistently rank amongst the highest executing states in the world. The MENA team’s work is diverse and constantly evolving to shape, respond to, and anticipate changes in the domestic and regional death penalty landscape. Summary and key purpose
This new role will be primarily responsible for developing, marketing and managing our individual giving together with working across other fundraising disciplines. You will be a key member of our fundraising team, producing compelling fundraising communications, stewarding individual donors, including regular donors and gifts in memory. Person Specification:
Essential
- Marketing or direct marketing or marketing qualification.
- Experience of using direct marketing methods to recruit, retain and develop supporters (e.g. telemarketing).
- Previous direct marketing or transferrable experience. This should include project managing or assisting a project manager to plan and deliver activity and evaluate results
- Planning, delivering and managing individual giving programmes.
- Delivering donor recruitment and retention projects from initiation to completion.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets from unrestricted donations.
- Presenting confidently to a variety of audiences.
- Building relationships and maximising engagement with donors and supporters
- Able to create and tailor engaging and emotive copy for a range of different channels.
- Empathy with the goals and objectives of RABI.
- A positive and creative approach to work, with the ability to multitask.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including good telephone manner and empathy towards in-memory donors.
- Ability to record accurate data and work with a CRM system
- Self-motivated and confident in working, both independently and in teams
- Good communicator, including face-to-face, phone, in writing and via remote communications.

As our Head of Workforce Research, you’ll lead impactful research and analysis that informs national debate, RCN policy, and advocacy. The post holder will provide leadership and management to the Workforce Academy’s programme of research. You’ll oversee major projects exploring critical issues such as staffing levels, workforce planning, recruitment and retention, and the health and wellbeing of the nursing workforce.
You’ll work closely with policy leaders, academic partners, and external stakeholders across health, education, and government to ensure our research is timely, relevant, and influential.
This role sits at the heart of our mission to improve the lives of those in nursing and ensure safe, effective care for patients. We will demonstrate the value of nursing to achieving nursing excellence and identify means of ensuring care is a safe and positive experience for both staff and patients.
You’ll have a PhD in a relevant discipline, with expertise in mixed methods and / or quantitative methodology and excellent knowledge and understanding of workforce research, data analysis, evidence synthesis and philosophy of social science.
You will bring extensive experience of designing, conducting and leading programmes of research, alongside knowledge mobilisation expertise.
You’ll have the ability to build engaging and accessible content to both academic and non-academic audiences (including members, senior leaders, policy makers).

About the role
Sitting on Leeds Community Foundation’s senior leadership team, the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships will develop a new income generation strategy, focusing on high-value, sustainable philanthropy, and a new proactive Communications strategy showcasing the Foundation as the go-to place for philanthropy in Leeds and Bradford.
The role will be a strategic leader in the organisation, deputising for the CEO where needed and representing the charity externally, while also personally delivering 6- and 7-figure gifts from new and existing supporters.
Who we are looking for
- Senior-level experience in income generation through philanthropic and/or corporate partnerships.
- Proven success in securing significant gifts from individuals or institutions.
- Familiarity with professional advisory networks, corporate and private wealth giving.
- Experience developing and delivering cross-channel communications strategies, ideally within a values-led or mission-driven organisation.
- Experience of line management and/or leading cross-team workstreams with the ability to lead a high-performing team.
- Existing networks across Bradford and Leeds would be a real advantage.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on growth, innovation and influence.
- Skilled communicator with a confident, persuasive presentation style.
- Ability to craft compelling narratives and develop messaging that resonates with diverse audiences.
