offers counselling services for children and young people with physical disabilities, behavioural, social, and emotional difficulties, autism and learning difficulties. The team delivers a multi-modality therapeutic service working with 2 - 24-year-olds experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. We work closely with CAMHs, the local authority and a range of voluntary and community sector organisations to deliver effective short-term therapeutic interventions.
The postholder will be expected to work with the Brighton & Hove Wellbeing Service. The Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner will work with the Children and Young People's (CYP) team in the delivery of recovery-oriented care. This will includes triage, assessment, and individual treatment sessions, delivered in-person. Providing specific evidence based psychosocial interventions within the scope of qualification. You will put clients and service users’ needs at the heart of the job, keeping young people safe, providing a compassionate response to alleviate suffering and encourage wellbeing.
This role is based on site between Monday to Friday with one evening until 7:30pm expected. Shift pattern to be discussed at interview.

You will also write, and support the fidelity of, occupational therapy programmes for others to deliver as well as review, refine and develop the universal occupational therapy offer within the setting in which you are based.

What will you be doing?

- Strong Experience of effective line leadership and leading change.
- Experience of using clinical reasoning skills and setting appropriate goals in complex cases

As a member of YVC’s team of Health and Wellbeing Facilitators you will work closely with colleagues from South Tyneside’s Physical Health Hub, and Primary Care Mental Health Team to support people in South Tyneside, in particular those with learning disabilities and those who require support with their mental health, to meet their wellbeing and physical health needs.

Main Responsibilities:
· Take part in relevant supervision, support and training to ensure YVC deliver a consistent and high-quality service.
· You will promote mental and physical health and wellbeing by:
o Getting to know people who access our service and supporting them
to identify the health issues that matter most to them.
o Linking the person with their GP / Primary Care Health Hub for their annual health check/ mental health program.
o Helping people identify and understand their own health, wellbeing and social needs and empowering people around accessing reasonable adjustments to address their barriers to services.
o Aiding the person to understand their Health Action Plan and what matters to me program.
o Promoting people’s self-confidence and develop communication skills around health needs.
o Supporting people to engage with the appropriate services to treat and improve their mental and physical health issues
· Maintain an active caseload. Manage risk proactively. Keep accurate records using our Charity Log database. Maintain confidentiality for our clients.
· Work closely with colleagues with lived experience of learning disability or autism in the Quality Checker Team to carry out NHS Quality Checks across the GP Practices in South Tyneside.
· Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the service, including the collection of case studies, data and by contributing to feedback and evaluation sessions with the aim of improving the service.

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a new Speech and Language Therapist role across both discrete and mainstream provision at Brooklands College. The role involves working as part of the College team to assess young peoples’ needs, and to design and deliver speech and language therapeutic programmes to a range of high needs learners with complex needs, such as: SLCN; learning difficulties and/or disabilities; autism; Asperger’s; and emotional, social and behavioural difficulties.
You will work closely with the Heads of Progression and EHCP Co-ordinator to provide a detailed assessment of a learner’s speech, language and communication needs, and develop an individual or group therapeutic programme to ensure that the appropriate support is in place for a young person as set out in their Education, Health and Care Plan by the local authority.
You will be expected to provide regular reports of learner progress for EHCP reviews, and contribute to staff development and training by advising managers, tutors and support teams on how to embed speech, language and communication strategies effectively.
You must hold relevant, professional qualifications and have experience of delivering speech and language therapy to children and young people with a range of communication difficulties. A skilled communicator, you are able to engage with young people and help them develop strategies to overcome their language difficulties.
This position is required to work flexibly to support other colleges within the surrey region on an adhoc basis.

You will have a Graduate or Post Graduate level Counselling Diploma of 2 years minimum duration including personal counselling or psychotherapy, and BACP Accreditation /eligibility for accreditation or BACP Registration or be accredited with other relevant professional bodies (UKCP/HCP). You will also have a sound understanding of child protection and vulnerable adult safeguarding issues, policies and procedures.
