Age UK is hiring! We're looking for a Partnerships Manager- Trusts to generate income from charitable trusts and foundations to support the work of Age UK. You will develop creative, compelling funding propositions, engage with high value prospects and stakeholders, and produce regular reports for funders. This fantastic opportunity would best suit an individual with successful and proven experience in achieving income targets in a high value trust fundraising role.

We operate a hybrid-working model, a blend of home and office working. This role will include regular days working from our London office - currently once a week on a Thursday and may involve occasional travel for meetings and cultivation events. Travel costs to the London office are the responsibility of the postholder and are not covered by the charity.

We have established a number of high-profile strategic initiatives to help us advance our work towards a cure. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Research Programme Manager to support the successful ongoing delivery of these major initiatives and collaborate across the organisation and externally to maximise their impact. The primary focus will be managing the Blood Biomarker Challenge, working closely with colleagues at Alzheimer’s Society to ensure the ongoing success of the programme.

This role sits within the Strategic Programmes team in the Research Directorate, an ambitious, supportive and friendly team that funds the best research to transform the lives of people affected by all forms of dementia.  We’re looking for someone with strong programme management experience, a good eye for detail and who is excited by the opportunities in the dementia research landscape.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Lead the delivery of the Blood Biomarker Challenge research programme:

· Oversee project delivery, tracking progress against milestones and KPIs, managing risks and keeping partners updated

· Ensure finances are effectively managed, working with the Research Funding and Finance teams

· Coordinate internal workstream leads to ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments

· Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders involved with the programme to maximise its success

· Implement robust and proportionate review processes

· Lead the preparation of papers and briefings for meetings

 

Support the development and management of new strategic initiatives within the team

· Maintain up to date knowledge of developments in the global dementia research field to support the development of new initiatives

· Implement robust project management skills to support the establishment of new initiatives and their ongoing monitoring

· Work closely with the Research Involvement Manager to integrate best practices in patient involvement and co-production where required

 

Strengthen relationships within the dementia research community

· Attend meetings and events to build relationships and promote our strategic programmes

· Support the Head of Strategic Programmes in enhancing ARUK’s external profile through active participation in meetings and collaborations with key stakeholders

· Work with the Partnerships Manager to identify opportunities for strategic partnerships that could complement the programmes you manage

 

What we are looking for:

· First degree (or equivalent) in relevant biomedical science

· Proven experience managing large programmes of work, preferably in the healthcare, research or charity sector

· Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple priorities, overseeing budgets and identifying risks

· Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholder groups and third-party suppliers and build strong, effective and productive relationships

· Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

KEY INFORMATION

Location: Manchester, Bristol, Newcastle, Nottingham, or London

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full time

Start date: September 2025 (we are happy to work with you and your notice period)

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £33,220 - £38,370 per annum if based in London. £30,645 -£35,795 per annum if based in Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle or Bristol. Salary banding is dependent on the skills and experience criteria detailed below. £312 yearly tax-free work from home allowance. Salaries are reviewed annually in August.

ROLE SUMMARY

This is a great opportunity for a motivated and ambitious fundraiser with experience in trusts, foundations and/or corporate fundraising to join upReach as we deliver our three-year strategy (2024–2027). The successful candidate will contribute to the growth of upReach through the development and stewardship of relationships with trusts, foundations, and corporate partners, and by helping secure five and six figure grants and gifts.

Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager, this role will manage a portfolio of funders and help the wider team to meet income targets. You will work collaboratively across the organisation including the delivery and impact teams, finance, partnerships, and  Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Working with stakeholders (internal and external)

• Develop and maintain positive, mutually beneficial relationships with key external contacts, including funders and volunteers.

• Champion and model a culture of outstanding relationship management. 

• Make the fundraising ‘ask’ as and when appropriate.

• Respond promptly to requests for information and action from supporters. 

• Report and disseminate the key issues to emerge from supporter feedback.

Fundraising

• Independently manage a portfolio of charitable trusts & foundations, and corporate supporters, giving at the five and six figure level. Steward these relationships delivering the highest levels of donor care. 

• Research and identify potential new funding opportunities to build the team’s pipeline. 

• Lead on the cultivation of your own pipeline of new funders, working creatively to find opportunities to engage organisations with our work. 

• Develop compelling, comprehensive funding proposals for trusts & foundations and companies, to renew existing partnerships and secure funding from new organisations. 

• Work closely with colleagues in the Data & Impact and Programmes team to prepare and write donor reports and other impact communications. 

• Contribute to the smooth delivery of philanthropic corporate partnerships including employee engagement, staff fundraising activities and volunteering.

• Prepare and thoroughly brief senior colleagues ahead of meetings with potential and existing funders. 

Financial

• Contribute to team fundraising income target (circa £2m) in line with the overarching strategy.

• Help track progress against income targets and report on performance regularly to the fundraising team.

• Contribute to the management of budgets and assist in preparing forecasts and annual plans.

• Flag risks or opportunities that may affect income generation to senior team members.

Team Support and Collaboration

• Manage team members on our graduate programme (rotatees) on fundraising projects as required.

• Play a proactive role in facilitating a positive, collaborative and high-performing fundraising team culture.

• Attend and contribute to regular team meetings and planning sessions.

• Work with teams across the organisation to ensure fundraising plans align with organisational needs and priorities.

Systems and Processes

• Maintain accurate and up to date records on the CRM to enable effective donor, supporter, supplier and volunteer relationship management. 

• Comply with the organisation’s data protection obligations, charity law and other legal requirements.

Other

• Continue to develop fundraising skills and knowledge, including keeping up to date with best practice and sector trends.

• Carry out additional fundraising and administrative tasks as needed to help the team.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful, it is anticipated that you will have experience working in a fundraising role within a charity or similar environment. The ideal candidate should display these skills: 

• Significant experience working in a fundraising or similar role within a charity or nonprofit setting, to include writing funding proposals and stewardship reports. 

• Knowledge of high value fundraising techniques including a clear understanding of prospecting, cultivating, securing and managing partnerships.

• Strong communication and storytelling skills, both written and oral, with the ability to turn complex ideas into concise and effective cases for support.

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail 

• Able to manage a varied workload and balance conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.

• Confidence working independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

• Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Some familiarity with data protection, GDPR and good practice in donor stewardship.

• A desire to learn, grow and develop a career in fundraising.

• A strong alignment with upReach’s mission and a passion for tackling barriers to social mobility.

Overseeing the management of caseloads and casework to a high-quality standard and monitoring the performance of your team, offering continuous coaching and feedback to ensure that Advance meets the specific KPIs and outcome measures for the contract, taking immediate action to manage poor performance as necessary.

To be successful as the Domestic Housing Manager you will need the below experience and skills:

You will bring your management experience of providing services to women experiencing Domestic Violence and Abuse including VAWG. With a significant experience of managing, developing and leading teams across a geographically dispersed region and remotely, including harnessing the strengths and potential of staff at all levels, building a strong team culture and maintaining staff motivation, particularly through periods of change. You will have substantial delivery of collaborative working with external agencies, stakeholders, subcontracted partners and extensive management of frontline workers.

We are currently mid-way through the first 3-year cycle of our 10-year strategy. Reporting to the Head of Programme Management, the newly created role of Strategy Manager will take the lead in managing and evolving our in-year strategic planning and progress reporting frameworks—ensuring they stay dynamic, effective, and aligned with our broader growth ambitions.  They will also ensure that ARUK’s strategy remains forefront of employee’s minds and embedded in teams’ work, building effective relationships with teams across ARUK.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Strategic Reporting

· Manage engagement with Heads of Department, programme leads, and key stakeholders to shape and align in-year milestones across strategic initiatives, ensuring cohesive delivery of organisational priorities.

· Conduct high-level analysis of milestone data to identify strategic opportunities, interdependencies, and key internal and external drivers. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to build support for integrated ways of working and ensure consistent communication across teams.

· Deliver strategic progress reporting at key intervals throughout the year, monitoring progress against milestones. Present key findings and forward-looking recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team and Heads of Department to inform decision-making.

· Develop clear, engaging, and informative reports for internal audiences that effectively communicate progress and priorities, helping to ensure the successful delivery of ARUK’s strategy.

· Proactively identify emerging risks to strategic delivery, assess their implications, and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders on mitigating actions and contingency planning.

Supporting the Delivery of Our Organisational Strategy

· Manage the coordination of ARUK’s annual planning and budgeting process in collaboration with the Head of Programme Management and Director of Strategy & Governance. Take day-to-day ownership of the process, ensuring effective communication and engagement across all levels of the organisation.

· Work closely with the Head of Programme Management and key stakeholders to assess and improve organisational structures and ways of working, with a focus on enhancing cross-team collaboration and the effectiveness of strategic working groups.

· Undertake horizon scanning and sector research to identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities relevant to strategy development and delivery.

· Support the development of strategic capability across the organisation by partnering with teams on their planning and strategy work, helping embed structured, forward-looking thinking.

· Collaborate with external consultants and partners to support the delivery of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

· Communicating About Our Organisational Strategy

· Support the Head of Programme Management and Director of Strategy & Governance in engaging employees across the organisation in the delivery of our strategy, helping to create clarity and alignment.

· Work with managers and Heads of Department to build support for updated or new ways of working that enable more effective strategy execution.

· Ensure that strategy-related communications are clear, timely, and relevant—particularly for managers—so they can effectively translate strategic goals into team-level action.

 

What we are looking for:

· Proven experience in strategy development or strategic planning, preferably within the charity sector.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced team manager with expertise in community, corporate or relationship fundraising. This role will enable you to demonstrate your impact by both growing the overall income within your sub-region by managing and developing your amazing team of 4 Regional fundraisers, and also through leading by example on securing new sources of income where the opportunity is greatest. This could range from new business acquisition through to delivering higher level bespoke stewardship and key account management for our high value supporters. Job Title: Volunteer Manager

Location: Based in our central office in Islington (10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington station). You will work in a hybrid approach including regular service visits, office days, and home working. 

Salary: £37,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:30. You may be required to work outside these hours as per requirements of the role.

About the role

This is a new role at SIG, thus a great opportunity to join our team in supporting with and managing the delivery and implementation of our National Volunteering Strategy. This role plays a pivotal role in shaping and producing a strategy which empowers leaders across the organisation to actively recruit, engage and retain volunteers within their services. You will develop and implement a volunteering strategy which is fit for use, realistic and transferrable throughout the organisation, with a structured programme which ensures a positive volunteer experience. 

• Lead the co-creation of the organisation’s National Volunteering Strategy in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Define clear goals, priorities, and success measures for volunteering across the organisation.
• Develop a clear roadmap for implementation of a volunteer strategy, ensuring alignment with the Group’s wider mission and values.
• Work collaboratively with various teams from operations, people and culture, marketing, finance, and other central teams to support the strategy.
• Design and implement a consistent volunteer recruitment, onboarding and induction process, and manage the sharing of information across the organisation.
• Create and manage volunteer hiring workflows, and ensure these are fit for purpose, and that they align with wider strategies, and system implementation.
• Consult and engage with managers on a regular basis to fully understand and identify volunteering needs across services and co-design a diverse range of volunteer roles that add value and reflect local priorities.

About you

We are looking for a proactive individual with a passion for advocating volunteering opportunities and early careers. You will be dedicated to bring new opportunities and drive meaningful change. You will have experience in volunteer management, with the understanding of what it entails, what our obligations are, and the difference between employment and volunteers. You will be driven to have the opportunity to create a process which is new to the organisation, and be self driven to learn as you go, as well as share your personal experience and expertise with others.

• Proven experience in developing or managing volunteer programmes, including recruitment, engagement and retention strategies  
• Ability to design and implement strategies, with a clear understanding of how to align volunteering initiatives with organisational needs
• In depth understanding of volunteering programmes and the knowledge, skills and ability to create role profiles for volunteers
• Ability to build local networks and relationships locally and nationally, and utilise platforms available, including new ones to share opportunities available
• Ability to think creatively to improve processes
• Proactiveness and outgoing approach to work, ability to use initiative to resolve challenges
• Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and quality, with organisation skills
