You will be joining us at a time that holds the greatest potential for fundraising in our history, following the launch of the UK Government’s Delivery Plan for ME and initial findings of the DecodeME genetics study (co-led by Action for ME) in Summer 2025.
Building on our charity’s already established level of support from major donors, you will provide exceptional relationship management to existing donors alongside growing our network of high value supporters.
Working closely with the CEO, alongside managing a portfolio of donors and prospects ensuring excellent stewardship, you will support our Breakthrough-ME Group (a group of high net worth and highly networked individuals). There is an established level of support from major donors at Action for ME so this is a role that will require exceptional relationship management to retain our current valued supporters while growing this crucial area of fundraising.
This would be an ideal role for an experienced philanthropy professional seeking to work for a small but ambitious charity, helping us to achieve our mission to improve the lives of all people affected by ME – better meeting their needs today while taking action to secure change for tomorrow.
Key duties
Major Donor Fundraising
• Successfully develop and implement the philanthropy strategy to secure and maximise funds from high value individuals for Action for ME achieving annual income of £250k+
• Set plans and budgets which will deliver income through major gift fundraising and philanthropic giving through family trusts and foundations, including quarterly forecasting.
• Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors at the £5k to £100k level, to develop and maintain strong and long-standing partnerships
• Work closely with the Director of Fundraising and Development and other colleagues to ensure that plans and activities for fundraising from high value individuals are integrated into the overall fundraising strategy and plan for significant growth.
• Be responsible for our Breakthrough-ME Group with high quality proposition development. Contribution to Group fundraising activities with a specific focus on ensuring their networks support pipeline growth for future fundraising.
• Lead the delivery of our biennial fundraising gala dinner, maximising income and new opportunities from attendees.
• Develop engaging and inspiring opportunities to steward and cultivate support creating a calendar of activities including events, presentations, approaches, networking and meetings.
• Utilise the CRM database (Raisers Edge) to provide the data required to strategise your approach to philanthropy, monitor progress and provide a high-quality donor experience.
• Ensure utilisation of insight & data, producing management information data to inform planning and strategy development.
• With the Director of Fundraising & Development, create inspiring cases for support and resulting propositions with clear budgets and outcomes.
• Create adequate systems and processes to support the major donor programme.
• Undertake and manage research into prospects and major donors, preparing for approaches and presentations and briefing senior leadership and trustees for donor meetings and events.
• Develop and maintain relationships with donors, a wide range of staff and volunteers from trustee level down.
• Provide regular feedback and internal reporting to line management.
• Work with other fundraisers to ensure that all fundraising opportunities and leads are followed up – particularly in corporate, community and trust fundraising.
• Work with Trustees, the Chief Executive and members of the Leadership Team to develop relationships with major donors.
• Self-administrate including managing your own diary and meetings, keeping accurate and up to date records of activity
• Occasional travel to London, Bristol & events

• To positively promote the work and activities of Action for M.E. at all times.
• To contribute to the team’s overall, ongoing and annual planning and budgeting.

We are seeking a motivated Employment Consultant to support people leaving prison into meaningful work by building strong relationships with candidates, employers and partner organisations.
Position: Employment Consultant
Location: Birmingham (office-based in Digbeth at least 3 days a week, with weekly prison visits)

About the Role
This role sits at the heart of an innovative peer-led employment programme that helps people rebuild their lives after prison. You will work closely with candidates both before and after release, supporting their transition into the community and into paid work. Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying candidates approaching release who are seeking employment
- Building strong relationships with candidates to understand and help address barriers to work, such as ID, banking and family contacts
- Supporting individuals through release and into the community with regular check-ins
- Building and maintaining relationships with prison staff and other stakeholders
- Organising monthly job surgeries both in prison and in the community
- Connecting with local and national employers, advocating for candidates and promoting their skills
- Collaborating with probation services, local authorities and third sector organisations
- Logging candidate progress using a CRM system
About You
We are looking for someone who is empathetic, resilient and proactive. You will bring excellent communication skills, a genuine commitment to inclusion, and the ability to build strong relationships across different sectors. Essential qualities include:
- Confident and comfortable working in prison environments (security clearance required)
- Empathetic, non-judgemental and an excellent listener
- Awareness of the barriers faced by people with convictions, with a commitment to helping overcome them
- Strong interpersonal skills – able to connect with everyone from candidates to CEOs
- Organised, IT-savvy and confident with record-keeping
- Strong written skills, able to prepare CVs and disclosure statements
Experience in recruitment, case management or related work would be an advantage but is not essential. A driving licence and access to a car is required for prison visits (expenses covered).

BFT is a charity established to restore native woodland habitats to Southern Scotland, an area with the lowest percentage of native woodlands in mainland Scotland. Our client is seeking a dedicated and highly organised Supported Accommodation Children and Young Peoples Services (Ofsted) Area Manager to join their team. Please note: this is not a Registered Manager position, you will not be required to register with Ofsted.
The ideal candidate will have experience of managing people, overseeing multiple sites and a strong understanding of working with young people in supported accommodation.

Purpose of the role

In this role, you will be responsible for the effective day to day operational management and property oversight of several Ofsted regulated supported accommodation services for looked after children and care leavers age 16-25.

You will ensure each service is safe, well-maintained, and fully compliant with Ofsted standards and wider regulatory requirements.

To lead, manage, and take accountability for the delivery of effective performance and the overall direction of the Service to include budget, property, voids, staffing, and service development in accordance with the Association’s Asset Based Approach, Statement of Purpose and business objectives.

To manage, monitor, review and take accountability for compliance with regulators, commissioners and other key stakeholders in accordance with service contract provisions and OFSTED Regulations.

This is a key role responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery and development of our Gateway programme for women. Alongside the daily management of staff and volunteers, this role is responsible for ensuring that the services provided are safe, best practice and compliant with all relevant policies and procedures.
As we seek to grow and reach more people, this role will play a vital role in undertaking strategic reviews of all current services and informing new service delivery and design. This will be undertaken in partnership with other service leads and working closely with senior leadership colleagues.

Main duties:
· Oversight and delivery of all programme activities relating to Gateway including drop ins, one-to-one support, group activities and faith based activities.
· Establish and drive the overall strategic vision for the service in line with the operational plan and informed by the needs of the people the service exists for
· Lead the design and development of new services in line with client needs, resources, staffing and strategic purpose of the team.
· Hold direct budget responsibility for day-to-day operations and in line with any specific funding requirements
· Be an active member of the Off the Fence leadership team
· Review and implement policies and procedures for safe service delivery
· Provide reports on key activity, outputs and impact in line with KPIs and other reporting requirements.
· Line manage the team of key workers, providing regular performance reviews, pastoral support and identifying training needs.
· Support with the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, including in-house training and supervision
· Ensuring that key workers have a good working knowledge of local services, referral routes, other agencies and when to highlight safeguarding concerns.
· Provide pastoral support for the team and volunteers in the service
· Lead Bible studies, prayer meetings for staff, volunteers and at external events as required
· Recruit, retain and manage volunteers in line with organisational policies and procedures
· Ensure safe and efficient delivery of services in line with health and safety, safeguarding, data protection and safe working practices.
· Plan and maintain safe staffing ratios through effective resource allocation
· Design and delivery of projects/activities in line with fundraised income, including reporting and engaging with funders as required
· Build and establish key sector relationships across the city to enhance the team’s reach and impact in the community
· Oversight and pastoral responsibility for the faith-based activities delivered for and with clients
· Build and establish relationships with other providers who can meet the needs of our clients e.g. local health teams.
· Contribute to wider profile-raising activities of Off the Fence
· Review and implement policies and procedures for safe service delivery
· Have responsibility for the safe processing and storage of client data in line with data protection regulations and policies, including CRM.
· Regularly review the effectiveness, safety and efficiency of all services including drop ins and one-to-one support.
· Active membership of and attendance at local forums, groups and networks
Key attributes and experience required for the role:
· Proven experience in managing frontline services and staff teams (minimum 3 years in a supervisory/management role)
· Experience in delivering services with vulnerable client groups
· Strong knowledge of the legal and statutory framework for housing, benefits, employment. Ideally, knowledge of local services and support agencies.
· A passion for seeing women thrive – practically, emotionally and spiritually
· Strong alignment with the vision of Off the Fence, and a commitment to our organisational focus
· Strong understanding and application of safeguarding, data protection and health and safety policy.
· Experience in service design, service improvement and project management
· Experience in supporting people with complex and multiple needs, including substance abuse and severe mental health.

The Role
As our eCommerce Assistant, reporting to the eCommerce Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day trading activity of our eCommerce Team. Your focus will be on helping us meet our online sales targets by efficiently listing products and ensuring orders are shipped promptly to our customers. You will also help us to make the most of our premium warehousing space, by keeping our listed products stored in the best possible locations for easy access and smooth operations.
As eCommerce Assistant you will have a passion for generating income for the charity, and a relentless commitment to delivering and exceeding targets to generate income for funding life-saving research.
Specifically, you will:
E-commerce
• Set up warehouse locations for our new goods and products to support sales on our Shopify platform, ensuring they are set up correctly to maintain inventory.
• Support the eCommerce and Product Manager to identify opportunities to improve procedures and systems and support our volunteers with any changes to ways of working.
• Identify innovative new online trading and business opportunities to increase income, ensuring that these are raised with your line manager.
• Ensure all customers are communicated to effectively, and all posting and packaging is completed within prescribed timescales.
• Using ListingMonsterAI, produce listings for our eBay shop, ensuring that your KPIs are met.
• List appropriate items for sale on our Depop and Vinted channels, using your experience and training to establish what items will resonate with the demographics on those platforms.
People management
• Support our team of well-trained volunteers to ensure that they are operating in line with the expectations of the Yorkshire Cancer Research eCommerce team.
• Play a part in the wider eCommerce team and work to ensure that targets are met across the whole function, providing support to peers and managers, as and when required.
Financials
• Deliver the eCommerce budgets and KPIs.
• Consistently deliver the listing targets to ensure that there is a constant flow of new products online to drive interest and maintain the eBay algorithm
Strategic
• Ensure that listings generate brand awareness through adhering to brand guidelines.
• Work with colleagues to monitor supporter journeys for online shop customers.
Relationships
• Create an environment of continued volunteer engagement.

About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
· To be educated to GCSE or equivalent level qualification.
· To have a proven track record in, or passion for, eCommerce.
· To have a full UK driving licence, access to own vehicle and ability to travel across Yorkshire.
· To have experience of sales target delivery.
· To have experience of identifying process inefficiencies.
· To have a good understanding of eCommerce platforms including, but not limited to, eBay, Depop, Vinted and Shopify.

The available role
As a Digital Systems Technician you will play a key role providing essential support across the organisation’s digital systems and IT infrastructure. You will resolve complex technical issues, maintain hardware and software, and assist with system upgrades and digital transformation projects. Working closely with colleagues, you will ensure a secure, stable, and efficient IT environment, supporting staff and volunteers to confidently use digital tools, while helping the organisation maximise technology benefits and maintain compliance with data protection and cybersecurity policies.
The successful candidate will have:
· A Computer Science degree or equivalent qualification, or substantial practical experience in IT support and systems administration.
· Proven experience supporting digital systems, IT infrastructure, hardware, software, and peripherals in a multidisciplinary environment.
· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues swiftly under time constraints.
· Experience working in a Windows environment and with software such as Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, and Sophos (security and VPN).
· Working knowledge of IT Asset Management (ITAM) processes and lifecycle management.
· Experience supporting digital transformation projects.
· Understanding of Information Governance, confidentiality, and Data Protection standards, combined with practical knowledge of cyber security frameworks.
Familiarity with SQL environments and ETL workflow tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is desirable, along with experience of working with a healthcare or charity sector organisation.
The role is available 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm (Friday 4pm finish), on a salary of £31,049 - £33,298 per annum. You may need to work the occasional late night or weekend when there is a specific business need or in some instances to deal with an emergency. Part time applicants my be considered.
