Stand-by-me Bereavement Support (SBM) is an award-winning charity based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. We support children and young people who have suffered bereavement through therapeutic group work, support for parents and carers and ‘Contact-me’, our school framework for supporting bereaved pupils.
Role Overview
The Bereavement Support Manager oversees the Contact-me programme. They introduce, train and help implement the programme within the school setting, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support services for pupils affected by bereavement.
They partner with the Clinical Services Manager to deliver SBM’s therapeutic groupwork programme, supporting assessments and leading the Parents/Carer sessions that run alongside.
Key Responsibilities
Contact-me

Oversee the Contact-me programme, ensuring it meets the needs of bereaved children, their families, school and healthcare professionals.

Introduce, train and help implement the programme within the school setting, providing ongoing guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality support services.

Collaborate with key stakeholders to enable a holistic, ‘team around the family’ approach to bereavement support services.

Groupwork

Requirements & Qualifications

Relevant qualification(s) in counselling, social work or a related field

Psychotherapist / Counsellor
At Prospect Hospice, we know that facing a life-limiting illness can bring profound emotional and psychological challenges for patients, families and those who care for them.
We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Psychotherapist or Counsellor to provide specialist psychological support to people navigating the complex emotional realities of serious illness, loss and end of life.
This is a meaningful opportunity to help people explore fear, grief, identity and resilience, while supporting clinical teams to deliver truly holistic hospice care.
Hours: 8 hours per week (with flexibility to meet service needs)
The role
Working as part of our Family Support Team and wider multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist psychotherapeutic assessment and intervention for patients and families experiencing complex emotional and psychological distress.
Your work will help ensure that psychological and spiritual care remains fully integrated within our hospice services.
In this role you will:
- Provide specialist 1:1 psychotherapy and counselling for patients and families with complex psychological needs
- Support people experiencing distress related to diagnosis, illness progression, trauma, grief and loss
- Contribute psychological expertise within multidisciplinary team discussions and care planning
- Provide consultation, supervision and training to staff and volunteers
- Lead reflective practice and staff support where appropriate
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of psycho-spiritual services across the hospice
Through your expertise and compassion, you will help patients and families find ways to cope, adapt and maintain dignity during some of life’s most difficult moments.
About you
You will be an experienced psychotherapist or counsellor who brings both professional expertise and emotional insight to your work.
You will have:
- A recognised counselling or psychotherapy qualification and registration or accreditation with a recognised UK professional body
- Experience delivering 1:1 psychotherapy in complex or emotionally demanding settings
- Strong skills in assessment, formulation and therapeutic intervention
- Experience supporting people facing serious illness, trauma, grief or bereavement
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Experience in palliative care or healthcare settings would be an advantage.

Zoe's Place Baby Hospice was founded in Liverpool in 1995 as the first hospice in the UK specifically providing for the needs of babies and younger children. The Senior Lead - Acquisition & Digital Fundraising role is responsible for delivering Operation Smile UK’s strategic individual giving acquisition programme. You will lead the strategy, planning, delivery and evaluation of acquisition campaigns, including the onboarding process, with full accountability for managing significant budgets, agency partnerships and performance metrics. This is a senior, hands-on role suited to an experienced acquisition fundraiser with strong commercial acumen and a data-driven mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Campaign Leadership
- Develop and implement the multi-channel acquisition strategy, aligned with income targets and supporter growth objectives.
- Lead on the planning and delivery of campaigns across direct dialogue, digital, DRTV, and print channels.
- Lead on the planning and delivery of the onboarding process for all new recruits.

The role
You will support all aspects of Hospice UK’s commercial partnership activity, helping to build, steward and develop long‑term relationships with corporate partners, who want to collaborate with hospices. Personalised communications will help move businesses from one‑off activity to longer‑term strategic partnerships.
A key part of the role involves conferences and events. As a Trainer at Cruse Bereavement Support, you will play a key role in delivering and developing training for external organisations. You will equip employees, volunteers, and other stakeholders with the knowledge and skills to support bereaved individuals, including clients, employees, or community members.
You will deliver both scheduled and bespoke training sessions, adapting content to meet the needs of diverse audiences while maintaining alignment with Cruse’s values, safeguarding standards, and equality, diversity, and inclusion principles. 2wish Cymru and 2wish:
2wish has been established since 2012 and has since grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.
We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.
We were founded as a Welsh organisation providing immediate casework support, as well as ongoing aftercare services including counselling, alternative therapies, play therapy, support groups, support events and a respite cottage.
In January 2024, we expanded into ‘phase one’ England, namely Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Somerset. And in July 2025 we expanded into ‘phase two’ England, namely Merseyside, Devon and Cornwall, Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Context of role:
The Headof Finance & Business Services will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for ensuring the charity is financially sustainable, legally compliant and operationally efficient.
This role provides strategic oversight of finance, governance, HR, IT, facilities, risk management, and business administration, enabling the charity to deliver its mission effectively and responsibly.

Strategic Leadership

What we do for you:
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Normal office hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, although alternative hours may be worked with line manager agreement. Work outside office hours may sometimes be necessary and will be compensated for by time off in lieu.
