What is the role?

As a member of our Customer Engagement team, you’ll deliver an exceptional level of customer service for all British Heart Foundation (BHF) customers, and drive an increase in revenue, through inbound and outbound stewardship activity.

You will provide a single point of contact for defibrillator and medical sales, providing advice to both B2B and B2C customers when deciding which device or devices to purchase.

You will improve and develop customer experience by engaging all customers through our stewardship activity, sales activity, and relationship management. You will manage these relationships and will work towards financial and customer satisfaction targets for stewardship.

At the British Heart Foundation (BHF), we believe survival from cardiac arrest shouldn’t depend on your postcode. That’s why our Community Resuscitation work focuses on delivering two impactful programmes—CPR training and community defibrillator funding—to reach people wherever they live.

As our Community Resuscitation Programme Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of these lifesaving programmes. You’ll help ensure our processes run smoothly, applications are managed efficiently, and our customers receive the best possible experience. From handling funding applications and responding to enquiries, to working with suppliers and internal teams, you’ll help place defibrillators in areas of greatest need and support the rollout of digital CPR training.

You’ll act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, gathering insights to improve our services and representing the programme in cross-organisational meetings. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact and support BHF’s mission to improve survival rates from out-of-hospital cardiac arrests.

• Experience in administration and customer service, with confidence handling a wide range of enquiries

We are seeking a Philanthropy Coordinator, Trusts & Foundations, to join the BFI’s Fundraising & Enterprise department.  You will contribute to BFI Philanthropy income targets and develop and maintain relationships with grant-making bodies.

• Generate income for the BFI through the production of successful grant applications and to increase Trust and Foundation commitments through a flawless donor care programme, in complement to BFI Philanthropy’s communications schedules

This role isn’t just about setting strategy; it’s about being actively involved in in a hands-on capacity as you build relationships and lead fundraising efforts across community, individual giving, corporate partnerships, events, legacies and trusts fundraising.

You will also oversee and support the Head of Retail, ensuring that income from our charity shops contributes effectively to the organisation’s overall financial sustainability and growth.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will also have the opportunity to shape Headway’s future and contribute to key decisions across the charity, including working with trustees and contributing to board meetings.

Key areas of accountability

• Develop, maintain, and evolve a multi‑year fundraising strategy (3‑5 years) aligned with Headway’s strategy, priorities, and risk appetite.
• Lead the development and delivery of income generation plans across all fundraising channels (retail, individual giving, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, events, legacies, and community fundraising), translating organisational objectives into clear annual targets, growth strategies, and actionable fundraising plans.
• Personally lead on key fundraising initiatives, cultivating and stewarding donor relationships while overseeing a diverse portfolio of fundraising activities.
• Use data-driven insights to evaluate performance, inform strategy, and identify opportunities for growth.
• Manage and inspire a fundraising team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and professional development.
• Oversee the Head of Retail and ensure the effective operation and strategic development of Headway’s charity shops.
• Monitor fundraising performance and report on progress to the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees.
• Play an active role within the Senior Leadership Team, contributing insight and expertise on income generation, fundraising performance, risk, scenario planning, and resource allocation, while working closely with colleagues to support decision-making and drive organisational priorities.
• Act as a key ambassador for the organisation, representing its mission and values to external stakeholders, partners, and donors.

About you

We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser who has performed at a director level or equivalent, ideally at a charity with a UK-wide reach.

You will be able to nurture and develop the fundraising team, building a strong culture in line with the organisation’s values, and motivating others to achieve shared goals by using your working knowledge of various fundraising disciplines.

You will be a skilled communicator, able to build relationships with and instil confidence in internal and external stakeholders including donors, supporters, and colleagues.

You will be confident and proficient in using CRM systems and fundraising platforms to manage supporter data, analyse performance and support donor engagement with data-informed decision making.

And you will be able to combine a strategic and analytic mindset with proactive, hands-on fundraising.

• You will be automatically enrolled into the People’s Pension. This is based on your contribution of 5% and with Headway UK contributing 3%. For every 1% you increase above this, Headway UK will increase its contributions by 1% up to a total maximum of 6%.

About the Role

We’re looking for a sharp, collaborative and digitally fluent professional who’s ready to hit the ground running. The Digital Senior Manager will be a vital part of Bite Back’s digital machine — managing the tools that power our public voice, supporter journeys and campaigning infrastructure. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on structure, loves solving digital puzzles, and is hungry to stay at pace with a fast-moving sector. You’ll manage everything from email platforms and analytics dashboards to website fixes, software access and performance insights. You’ll also contribute to campaign execution, helping to implement digital actions with power and polish — including ad support and post-launch optimisation. 

You will also take a data‑driven approach to strengthening Bite Back’s digital presence — analysing performance, optimising our campaigns, and ensuring our digital channels work seamlessly together. From managing website and email systems to supporting paid campaigns and supplier relationships, you’ll keep our platforms effective, insight‑led and future‑ready. It’s a role for someone who combines technical fluency with creative curiosity, able to turn analytics into action and digital systems into impact.

Purpose of the Role

This role sits at the heart of a collaborative, fast-moving team, supporting others to deliver brilliant digital campaigns while owning the technical foundations that make it all possible. You will lead Bite Back’s digital strategy delivery during a period of parental leave. You will also lead reporting and insights for the Digital Communications team, designing and implementing PPC and SEO strategies, and project managing website development projects. Additionally, you will manage the budget for the website, email marketing and social media.

You’ll need strong organisational skills to stay on top of multiple platforms, confident communication to coordinate with suppliers and teammates, and the initiative to lead on projects or solve issues independently. While much of your work will involve behind-the-scenes problem-solving, you’ll be a vital partner to colleagues across campaigns, content and operations. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable taking the lead on digital strategies and operations, but equally happy working as part of a team that values clarity, trust and shared ambition.
