About you

About the opportunity
Working closely with the Corporate Partnerships Manager and wider Philanthropy Department, the Corporate Partnerships Coordinator will identify and cultivate fruitful partnerships with a range of small, medium and large businesses.
They will help maximise the potential of corporate and other organisations for funding, volunteer recruitment, and other philanthropic opportunities, to enable growth and sustainability for Action Tutoring. The Public Affairs Lead sits within our Policy and Advocacy Team, working to build support for The Food Foundation’s work amongst Parliamentarians and to influence the government to help deliver policies that will transform the food system. The Public Affairs Manager reports to our Head of Policy and Advocacy and will be responsible for planning and delivering our public affairs activity. This includes:

parliamentary inquiry to parliamentary staff from the Health and Social Care Committee, drafting an MP briefing for an upcoming debate on the Government’ s obesity prevention priorities, reviewing next week’s parliamentary calendar to spot opportunities for engagement, attending a roundtable to share intelligence and discuss priorities for political party manifestos with other NGOs working on food issues, ringing round parliamentary offices to confirm attendance for
an upcoming parliamentary reception, meeting with an MP that is closely involved with The Food Foundation’s work to refine messaging for an upcoming campaign.

Purpose

We are looking for a proactive and organised individual ensuring that all of Ella’s premises,  including the office, community hub, and safe houses,  are safe, compliant, well-maintained, and a welcoming environment for staff and service users. The role

We are looking for a Facilities Coordinator to help us maintain a secure and well-functioning work environment in our Grade 1 listed building near St James’ Park SW1.

The role holder will be primarily responsible for providing effective and efficient support for the running and maintenance of our prestigious building, responding to facilities issues as they arise along with the operation and administration of hard and soft services.

You will support the Health and Safety functions, run the Facilities Help Desk and manage the CAFM system, amongst other day-to-day responsibilities. You will contribute to establishing best practice and work under the supervision and guidance of the Operations and Facilities Manager to ensure adherence to regulatory, statutory requirements and best practice guidance.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

You will be an experienced and dynamic communicator with significant demonstrable experience in fundraising and/or communications at a senior level, coupled with an awareness and up to date knowledge and experience of the tools that would maximise the success of our communications and fundraising activities. In addition, you will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders. Possessing strong management skills, you will have experience of managing small multi-disciplinary teams, providing direction and leadership to enable development and high performance, and the ability to role-model a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion.

Education/ Training

Master’s Degree in communications, marketing, public fundraising or another relevant field (or at least 5-years’ experience).

Work Experience

• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, supporter engagement or communications, with at least 2 years’ experience directly managing staff.

• Experience developing and leading integrated multi-channel and multi-stakeholder communications, engagement and/or fundraising strategies.

• Experience in growing audiences, engagement and/or income streams.

• Experience communicating about and/or fundraising for and/or maintaining engagement with Afghanistan or a similar context.

A social housing provider in the London area is looking for an experienced Disrepair Surveyor to support their legal disrepair, complaints and property inspection caseload.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed inspections of residential properties in relation to disrepair, damp, mould, leaks and structural issues

• Produce clear technical reports, schedules of works and evidence for legal cases and pre-action protocol processes

• Assess liability, recommend remedial actions and provide expert professional advice

• Work closely with legal teams, housing officers, contractors and residents
