As the UK’s leading university access organisation, our staff team is helping 56,000 young people each year at its 44 learning centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, and we plan to scale-up our provision to 50 centres over the coming years.

We are looking for a high-calibre candidate who will enjoy working each day with young people and who will thrive in a frontline, community-based, fast-paced and rewarding role. You will be taking up a permanent role as Centre Leader at our IntoUniversity centre in Salford. You will have responsibility for running your IntoUniversity centre, including managing your team, planning and delivering the programme, liaising with external stakeholders and meeting  IntoUniversity’s targets for delivery.

A substantial element of this role is delivering our education programme to children and young people aged 7-18, so you will need to have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people, including leading a class of 30 from the front, working with small teams of children and providing one-to-one support.

Job Title: Food Enterprise Coordinator/ Lead

Main Purpose of the Job:

• To support the development of a network of food businesses with the aim of establishing and embedding healthy and sustainable practices and values.

• Develop relationships with stakeholders within the food system to support the creation of shorter and more value based supply chains. 

• Develop initiatives, campaigns and strategies to promote good food businesses to the public.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop a network of food businesses with the aim of establishing and embedding healthy and sustainable practices and values.

• Be the food alliance’s main point of contact for Liverpool’s social, small and medium enterprises in the food sector. 

• Arrange and facilitate regular meetings to understand the challenges and priorities of the sector and how the food alliance can support them. 

• Work with existing partners to develop a Good Food Business Charter, and support other local food enterprises to become network members and adopt the principles set out in the charter. 

Develop relationships with stakeholders within the food system to support the creation of shorter and more value based supply chains. 

• Alongside key stakeholders, develop a shared definition of what ‘local food’ is, taking into account the capacity of the local supply chain and the needs of procurers.

• Work alongside local food system ‘actors’ to establish connections between procurers and the local supply chain, and identify barriers that require mitigation. 

• Support innovative ways to support local, value based supply chains taking effect. 

• Provide support for both established and newly developed local food access initiatives — including markets, food hubs, and community retail schemes — that enhance community access to healthy and sustainable food. 

Develop initiatives and campaigns to promote good food businesses to the public. 

• Explore existing activities that promote good food enterprises to the public in Liverpool, and align them to the Good Food Plan and Sustainable Food Place Silver Award application. 

• Promote Liverpool’s good food enterprises to the public through well-aligned campaigns, events, and communications.

General Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with Feeding Liverpool’s team, trustees, and external partners to achieve strategic objectives.

RLS Caseworker / Solicitor

As a RLS Caseworker / Solicitor you will conduct a small strategic caseload of asylum and refugee family reunion cases and assist on litigation (where eligible) under our legal aid contract to push for better decision-making, secure results for individuals and pursue improvements in the relevant law, policy and practices. 

You will also act as the supervising caseworker/lawyer for the Afghan Pro Bono Initiative (APBI), which is a specialist casework project delivered by RLS with funding and pro bono assistance from 11 leading commercial law firms. As part of this role, you will supervise pro bono lawyers to provide high quality legal representation for Afghans on matters including family reunion, the ARAP scheme, the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme and others. The project is now in its 3rd year and won the Most Effective Pro Bono Partnership Award at the Law Works Pro Bono Awards in 2022 as well as being nominated and commended for numerous other awards in 2022 and 2023. Please note that RLS recognise that pro bono legal work is always an adjunct to, and not a substitute for, an adequate system of publicly funded legal services. 

Key responsibilities

• Have conduct of a small strategic caseload and provide high quality legal advice and representation to clients
• Supervise the work of volunteer pro bono commercial lawyers on cases
• Deliver training to pro bono commercial lawyers
• Ensure that all legal work is promptly and accurate recorded on RLS’s case management system and keep relevant time recording
• Develop and disseminate relevant information on legal developments in this area for relevant stakeholders, including both the Afghan Community and building the capacity of other practitioners

Leith Theatre first opened in 1932 as a gift to the people of Leith. After decades of disrepair and a successful campaign to save it from private redevelopment in the mid-2000s, Leith Theatre Trust have been working to secure its future as a valuable contributor to Edinburgh’s cultural landscape.  

The plan is to refurbish the category B listed building and create an innovative mid-size music and performance space, inspiring wide engagement and, ahead of its 100-year anniversary in 2032, finally fulfill its original premise as in inclusive civic centre of arts, culture and community.  

About You:

The Trust is seeking a consultant to update and deliver the capital fundraising strategy. The candidate must have a proven track record of delivering successful capital campaigns and bring the drive and ambition to support this transformational project in the heart of Leith. Working with the Executive Team, you will lead the campaign to raise circa £5.5 million for the first phase of capital works, due to begin in 2027.

Metabolic Support UK is the leading organisation for people living with inherited metabolic disorders (IMDs) and their families. We provide expert support and advocacy, champion research, and work with health services and policy-makers to ensure people with IMDs and their families get the care they need and deserve. 

The Role 

We are looking for a curious and committed Research & Policy Officer to help us build the evidence base to improve the lives of people affected by IMDs. Reporting to the Head of Insight & Advocacy, you will play a key role in delivering our research projects, keeping tabs on relevant policy developments, and helping shape our responses to consultations. 

Key Responsibilities 

Research (under supervision of the Head of Insight & Advocacy): 

• Support the design, planning, and delivery of qualitative and quantitative research projects 

• Conduct literature reviews, stakeholder mapping, and data analysis 

• Contribute to survey development, focus groups, and interviews with people living with IMDs, families, clinicians and other stakeholders 

• Assist with analyses and write up findings in accessible and engaging ways for different audiences 

• Ensure all research is ethical, inclusive, and relevant to the needs of the IMD community 

Policy Monitoring and Response: 

• Track developments in policy relevant to rare diseases and inherited metabolic conditions 

• Summarise key policy updates for internal and external audiences

• Help ensure the voice of the IMD community is reflected in national and local policy discussions

About the Project – Door of Hope (East London)

The Door of Hope Project provides support to women who sell sex in Tower Hamlets.  This includes journeying alongside women, whilst providing advocacy, information, emotional and practical support.  The project also has a strong team of around 15 volunteers, who deliver street outreach to women in Tower Hamlets on a Thursday morning and Friday night. 

About the Role

Beyond the Streets is a UK charity with over 20 years’ experience of partnering with women in the sex industry, to see them safe from coercion, violence and abuse. We deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support, provide training, and create resources and reports informed by research, lived experience, and practitioner experience.

Our ‘Direct Work’ is central to the organisation, and we are looking to recruit a new Women’s Support Worker.

Taking a woman-centred approach, your role is to provide holistic support for women with complex needs who want support, or to exit the sex industry. We are looking for someone with energy, motivation and experience of working with vulnerable adults; someone who a highly developed sense of self-awareness who can work in a gender and trauma informed way.

This role will be part of a small team of support workers, and a service manager, who deliver an in-person support service, with women who sell sex on-street in East London. You will have frontline experience of working with individuals who experience multiple disadvantage. This might be in the VAWG sector, domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health or counselling or direct experience of women in the sex industry. You will have a good understanding of working with vulnerable people and be aware of the need for Safeguarding.

You will be a champion of the cause, have a passion for supporting women who face multiple disadvantages and be familiar with the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sector.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and be able to support women in a trauma-informed and non-judgemental way.  We are looking for someone with energy, resilience, who can increase our reach and positive impact on women.
