Manchester

This is a part time role of 30 hours per week. The salary for this position is £32,332.80 per annum (0.8 FTE of £40,416 per annum) plus contributory pension

About MAG:

MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. We remove landmines and unexploded ordnance to release safe and productive land for communities, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by supporting governments to safely manage weapons and ammunition. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.

About the role:

You will support the Head of Corporate Finance to ensure that MAG’s global finance systems are fit for purpose. This includes ensuring that MAG’s systems are strengthening business partnering, minimising manual input and risk of errors, and optimising overall output in the recording, analysis, and reporting of financial data. You will support the Head of Corporate Finance and Head of Programme Finance with all elements of financial planning and analysis. This includes critically reviewing department business plans, analysing variance to business plans, maintaining financial reporting templates and KPIs, and producing financial data and reporting to monitor and assess MAG’s organisational financial health.

About you:

You will be an experienced financial professional with proven experience of global business planning and reforecasting processes, including coordination, variance analysis, and producing reporting packs. You will be experienced in financial management, including management accounting and budget-holder reporting, and have demonstrable experience developing and supporting financial systems and reporting tools. You will be a clear communicator, with experience working collaboratively with IT teams and the ability to articulate complex financial information to non-finance personnel. You will be proactive and solution-oriented, with a genuine interest in and commitment to MAG’s humanitarian mandate and values.
