The Senior Marketing Planning Manager in an exciting new role to Alzheimer’s Research UK. Sitting in the Marketing Planning team within Strategic Marketing, this role is accountable for making ARUK’s marketing system work end-to-end for bigger and better impact.
This role is responsible for the practical application of the overall marketing strategy into clear, prioritised and sequenced plans across the top of the marketing funnel, working closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Comms, Digital, Policy and Brand.
Operating with significant autonomy, the role embeds planning discipline, governance and rhythm across the organisation — ensuring the right activity happens at the right time, with the right level of investment, to deliver audience and income growth.
This is a senior management role, judged not by activity but by the clarity, efficiency and effectiveness of the marketing system.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Planning & Operating Model Leadership
· Own and embed ARUK’s Marketing Operating Model, ensuring planning principles, cycles, governance and tools are understood and consistently applied.
· Translate organisational priorities into an integrated annual and quarterly marketing plan.
· Ensure planning supports growth of our defined target audience and long-term fundraising outcomes.
Master Marketing Calendar Planning & Management
· Own and maintain the single Master Marketing Calendar to ensure a clear and complete view of what ARUK is communicating externally and when.
· Sequence campaigns to avoid clashes, duplication and audience fatigue.
· Enable informed trade-offs between activity based on capacity, impact and strategic priority.
Strategic Marketing & Communications Board Programme Management
· Act as Programme Manager for the Strategic Marketing & Communications Board.
· Ensure meetings are decision-focused, well-structured and supported by clear papers.
· Track actions, outcomes and follow-through to ensure decisions translate into delivery.
Campaign Planning Quality & Governance
· Lead consistent campaign briefing, prioritisation and review processes.
· Ensure Gold and Silver tier campaigns are properly planned, resourced and evaluated.
· Improve planning quality across teams, reducing late-stage changes and rework.
Cross-Organisational Leadership
· Coordinate input from Fundraising, Comms, Brand, Digital, Policy and Insight.
· Build strong working relationships and act as a trusted planning partner to Heads and Directors.
· Enable teams to focus on delivery by providing clarity, structure and coordination.
· Collaboration and briefing of media agency, creative and external partners to ensure visibility and understanding of priorities
People management
· Accountable for team development and line management of Senior Marketing Effectiveness Officer, including career development, performance reviews.
· Ensure outputs from Senior Marketing Effectiveness Officer are translated into strategy and activated in delivery.

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Role Overview
The Donor Relations Officer will be responsible for crafting compelling, donor-centred communications that strengthen long-term relationships with partners and supporters, deepen engagement and inspire giving. One of the main areas of responsibility will be to produce proposals and reports for stakeholders, especially strategic partners and donors. The postholder will work closely with the other members of the Marketing and Communications team, as well as collaborating with other departments within the college. The ideal candidate will have proven experience of producing copy for fundraising and donor relations purposes, and will be a skilled storyteller who can translate the strategic objectives of the college into resonant narratives, understands donor motivations, and writes with clarity, empathy, and purpose.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Stewardship Writing
- Develop persuasive and high-quality copy for multi-channel fundraising campaigns (direct mail, email, website, social media etc.)
- Write impact reports and stewardship letters that convey gratitude and demonstrate impact.
- Create case statements, proposals, and presentations for major donor and foundation audiences.
- Oversee the ongoing use of Donorfy CRM to ensure it functions in a way that optimises ANCC's efficiency and makes full use of its functionality; carry out system integrations as needed.
Storytelling & Content Development
- Interview students, alumni, partners, staff and donors to develop authentic, mission-driven stories.
- Adapt organizational content for various donor segments, ensuring a consistent voice and message.
- Collaborate within the Marketing & Communications team to pair copy with strong visuals, and input to other priority projects as required.
Editing & Quality Control
- Proofread and edit donor communications to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with the college ethos and brand guidelines.

Qualifications
Required:

- Proven ability to write clear, compelling, and engaging copy and marketing materials for diverse audiences.
- Strong interviewing, research, and storytelling skills.

About the role
As our Programme Support and Knowledge Director, you will play a key role in delivering our mission by providing strategic leadership to the PSK team and the wider IPD, as part of the department’s SMT. You will also input into organisation-wide initiatives, external collaborations and global networks to drive sustainable change.

Job Profile
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead on the recruitment, retention, and value growth of Afghanaid’s supporter base by directing and implementing communications, fundraising and engagement strategies, aligned with broader organisation goals. Designing and managing a tight budget, you will direct the Communication and Giving unit to maximise their success.
You will provide strategic and supervisory oversight of fundraising income from individual giving, regular giving, major donors, trusts and foundations, corporates, community and student fundraising and events, managing annual fundraising appeals and driving organisational unrestricted income growth.
You will lead on communications for Afghanaid, overseeing print, digital, and paid marketing activities and the growth of communications channels. You will manage all public relations including crisis communications, as well as the growth of strategic media placements and high profile relationships. You will drive the success of organisational impact storytelling and communications for both internal and external stakeholders. PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Estate Stewardship: manage day-to-day stewardship of the Centre’s significant ageing building, overseeing maintenance, lease/compliance obligations and contractor relationships.
• People & Culture: build a cohesive senior team, embed clear role accountabilities, performance management and development, and protect the Centre’s welcoming culture while managing change.
• Brand & Profile: act as a visible ambassador locally and with funders to raise the Centre’s profile and champion its social value.
Who you are:
• A seasoned senior leader with proven experience in a small/medium charity, community organisation or social enterprise that combines front-line delivery with significant premises/estate responsibility.
• Demonstrable track record of leading strategic development and delivering organisational growth while balancing hands-on operational leadership.
• Strong commercial and earned-income expertise, with experience of running successful commercial – ideally site-based - operations.
• Confident in winning and managing statutory contracts and multi-year grant programmes; credible with local authorities, commissioners and corporate partners.
• Financially literate with direct budget and cash-flow accountability and experience of full-cost recovery modelling.
• A collaborative, visible and warm ambassador who builds trust quickly, communicates clearly and can present concise management information to trustees.

We are working with a highly collaborative and innovative heath charity to recruit this key position, they are looking for an individual with extensive experience of producing innovative and insight-led campaigns from conception to delivery and a passion for line managing a team whilst developing people.
You will be responsible for driving donor acquisition and retention, with a particular focus on digital campaigns.
This is a 4 month contract to start asap, the charity are interviewing on a rolling basis.
This position will be a hybrid role based between their offices in either London, Brighton or Glasgow and home working, with one day in the office.

The Role
Lead the Individual Giving acquisition programme across direct mail and digital channels.
Manage the warm cash appeal programme through print and email and digital channels.
Develop and manage digital fundraising campaigns.
Line manage the Individual Giving Officer and the Senior Legacy Officer.
The Candidate
Ability to create and deliver operational plans for direct mail and digital giving
Audience-focused approach, prioritising the preferences and motivations of supporters in fundraising efforts.
Proven experience of developing Direct Marketing and digital fundraising strategies, annual operating plans and budgets.
Experience of managing teams.
