As our Director of Service Transformation, you will lead the exciting next phase of transforming our charity’s services to reach more disabled children, young people and their families. What you will be doing as the Director of Service Transformation:
- Lead and execute services strategies and plans that extend and transform the impact and financial sustainability of the charity’s services and support for disabled children, young people and their families.
- Lead the design, development and sales of innovative new service models and the scaling of existing services.
- Work closely with the other executive directors and leadership team to achieve the generation of an annual financial surplus to reinvest in Kids.
- Ensure the quality and safe delivery of all Kids’ services.
- Ensure effective budget management underpins service development and delivery. Ensure contracts and tenders are commercially negotiated and regularly monitored. Work with colleagues to identify and achieve necessary margins on contracts and projects for financial sustainability.
- Inspire and lead a high performing services team; support colleagues to test, learn and adapt as the charity evolves and transforms its digital and in-person support offer.
- Be an inspiring, visible and collegiate leader and team player who works across team boundaries to help drive organisational change and nurture colleagues’ ability to perform at their best.

You will be joining our Philanthropy Team that's responsible for managing relationships with, and securing donations from, mid and major value individuals and trusts & foundations. The team has recently transitioned to a new team structure with a new set of ambitions and plans, and more formalised support across the organisation, at all levels, to enable the team to deliver.
As part of these changes, a new role of Fundraising Resource Manager (High Value) has been created, to lead on the operation and resource requirements of high value at Blue Cross, including:
- leading on the development of fundraising opportunities and propositions, including the management of funding opportunity information and case for support resource
- overseeing the delivery of high-quality prospect research and driving pipeline performance through delivery of prospecting plans and lead generation

About the role
This is an exciting role within the Volunteering Team. You’ll have responsibility for designing and piloting Shelter’s financial resilience volunteer programme in Leeds as well as supporting our nationwide volunteering programme. We’ll rely on you to use best practice volunteer management to design and pilot volunteering journeys from attraction, recruitment and training all the way through to ongoing support and exit. You’ll also be leading on evaluating the pilot and adapting our approaches based on learnings. We have a great opportunity for someone with the necessary qualifications and attributes to join our accounts team. Serving as the Team Leader the successful candidate will work alongside the existing team and report to the Executive Director. The post requires the right candidate to have good knowledge and a proven track record of working in business accounting. Previous work in the charity sector would be desirable but not essential.

The Philanthropy Specialist plays a major role in meeting the organisation's ambitious fundraising goals. Responsible for major giving and grants portfolios, the Philanthropy Specialist identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards financial support from generous individuals and granting bodies.
With a proven track record the successful candidate will network with key stakeholders, present compelling communications and generate significant funds. In turn, these funds will enable Animal Equality to achieve its ambitious financial targets and carry out its crucial campaigns to meaningfully transform and save the lives of farmed animals.
General Responsibilities:
- Oversee a dedicated portfolio of donors and prospects

Devise creative solutions to strengthen new and existing relationships, tailoring engagement approaches to maximise giving impact.

- Resilience: work under pressure, managing competing priorities and adapting accordingly. Problem-solve and think innovatively to deliver against targets. Show outstanding emotional intelligence, with an ability to network and negotiate effectively.
- Gravitas: entrepreneurial and highly motivated, tailor communications to your audience.
- Professionalism: proficiently adept at cultivating and nurturing trusting relationships with diverse supporters, institutions, and team members whilst upholding the highest standards of professionalism and alignment with the Animal Equality culture at all times.
Position Requirements:
- A minimum of five years of related work experience in major gifts fundraising or in the field of marketing and communications, preferably at a non-profit advocacy organisation.
- A proven track record of bringing in major donations of six-figure sums.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM preferred.
- A practical understanding of fundraising, GDPR and charity regulation.
- Knowledge of and proven ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable presenting professionally.
- A positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication, and the ability to work cooperatively with others in a team-oriented work environment.
- Ability to work additional hours, as needed, to meet deadlines, travel occasionally and manage workflow.
- Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle.
- Commitment to the objectives of Animal Equality.
- You will be required to travel to London once per month at your own cost.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary band £37,000-£40,000, depending on experience. This is a remote working opportunity (UK-based candidates only).
