ABOUT THE ROLE 
You will be responsible for the financial management and reporting of the organisation. You will
also lead on the charity’s year-end accounts ensuring that financial statements are prepared in line with the latest SORP requirements, and liaising directly with the organisation's external auditors.
The main purpose of this role is to:
- Manage the accounts department to run efficiently and effectively. 
- Ensure sales and purchase ledgers are accurate and up to date, other income is recorded accurately, profit and loss reports provided monthly and management reports are provided quarterly and end-of-year is completed on time. 
- Manage banking arrangements to make supplier payments, collect income through direct debits and online payment gateway.

The Finance Manager is responsible to the Executive Director and responsible for:

1. Ensure Financial Sustainability—Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization's long-term sustainability, aligning budgets with the charity's mission and strategic goals.
2. Strengthen Financial Governance and Compliance - Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, charity law, and donor requirements, including timely preparation of statutory accounts and audit processes.
3. Enhance Financial Planning and Budgeting - Lead the annual budgeting process and long-term financial planning, providing accurate forecasting, financial modelling, and scenario planning to support leadership decisions.
4. Optimise Resource Allocation - Provide insight and analysis to guide the efficient use of funds, ensuring that resources are directed to the most impactful programs and services.
5. Develop Transparent Financial Reporting—To build trust and demonstrate accountability, deliver timely and transparent financial reports to stakeholders, including the ED, trustees, donors, and regulators.
6. Support Fundraising and Donor Stewardship - Partner with fundraising teams to manage restricted funds, track grant expenditures, and support financial reporting to funders, ensuring alignment with donor expectations.
7. Promote Financial Literacy and Capacity building - Build financial awareness and capacity across the organization by training non-financial staff and ensuring budget holders understand and manage their financial responsibilities effectively.
8. Risk Management and Contingency Planning - Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies, including establishing reserves and contingency plans for economic uncertainties or funding shortfalls.

Senior Legal Officer

We are looking for a Senior Legal Officer to support the organisation’s grant giving and contracting function.

The Role

Join an independent What Works Centre, funded by a core grant from central government (the Department for Education), with additional funding from other governmental departments and philanthropic bodies. We are looking for a contract manager to work within the Operations team and support the grant giving and contracting function.

Key tasks include:

• Review and consolidation of existing grant and service agreements templates, ensuring compliance.

• Prepare internal guidance on using the contract templates 

• Develop and maintain a register of agreed variations to standard T&Cs 

• Advice on due diligence processes and legal considerations for collaborations with a variety of partners (e.g. charities, research institutes, universities, local authorities, government departments etc) 

• Support project teams in putting in place agreements for new grants and services

• Supporting project teams with existing agreements

• Provide organisation wide training on standard T&Cs and managing contracts 

• Develop robust and future proof contracting processes, to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice 

• Act as a main point of contact with external legal advice providers 

• Work with the finance team to ensure disbursement of funding is compliant with agreements from our funders and the law

You will have a law (or similar) degree, with experience of contract law and contracting in a not for profit/grant making environment.

Main duties and responsibilities

Communications (30% of work)

• Write and publish short regular newsletters for GRP’s stakeholders, including portfolio donors, wealth adviser partners and donors to operating costs.
• Manage and publish weekly content for GRP’s social media accounts, including LinkedIn and Instagram.
• Manage and curate content for GRP website, ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date and maximising opportunities to attract new donors and supporters.
• Coordinate with GRP’s third-party web developer on website maintenance and regularly re-evaluate site structure/functions to maximise its efficacy and usability.

Event planning (30% of work)

• Lead coordinator for in-person and virtual events, in line with events strategy devised by Strategic Relationships Manager.
• Lead event promotion and liaise with venues, speakers, catering, attendees, videographer, graphic designer, etc to ensure events are well-attended and well-run.

Research (20% of work)

• Drive ad-hoc research projects to support GRP’s partnership-building, core fundraising and portfolio selection/assessment efforts.
• Analyse potential sectors and charities for inclusion in GRP’s charity portfolio.
• Identify and research high-quality trust and foundation leads in line with core fundraising strategy.
• Identify and research high-quality leads for wealth adviser or other corporate partnerships.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) (20% of work)

• Manage GRP’s new CRM system (Beacon) on behalf of team, ensuring the team uses the CRM system consistently, accurately, and effectively. No prior experience with CRMs required – training will be provided.

The Society of Chemical Industry (SCI), a registered charity, is an international forum where science meets business. Established in 1881 SCI’s main charitable objective is to accelerate science out of the laboratory to address the key societal challenges facing society today. SCI does this by facilitating open innovation, identifying and promoting emerging technologies in the areas of climate and planet and health and wellness, and by providing support for the next generation of scientists and engineers.
Core to delivery of the Society’s mission is a growing portfolio of research journals that publish applied research across a broad range of sciences: from Agriculture to Energy and Material Science to Biotechnology.

The Role:

SCI is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Press Officer to lead on its external and social media engagement strategy. 

You will lead SCI’s engagement with media outlets – including national papers, trade publications and broadcast – to increase our public profile, promote our work and build support for our campaign to accelerate the commercialisation of the UK’s science base. 

You will manage SCI’s press office on a day-to-day basis – scanning the media and political landscape to find opportunities for SCI to leverage its unique expertise and perspective as an organisation at the intersection of science and business.  Part of the role will include public affairs (20%) where you will also support SCI’s Head of External Affairs with political engagement as required – coordinating and facilitating SCI’s engagement with key politicians and political contacts. 

This role is suited to someone with at least 3 years of professional experience in communications, with an excellent news sense and a solid contact book of journalist contacts. 

Responsibilities:

• Closely monitor the news agenda, seeking out opportunities for SCI to comment on fast-moving events and raise the profile of our policy positions and significant research into the potential of the UK’s science base.

• Develop and build national, trade and regional media contacts, hosting journalists at SCI offices in Belgravia.

• Establish KPIs for SCI’s media engagement and monitor and demonstrate progress in meeting them.

• Work with the Social Media team to develop and draft content related to our policy priorities for our social media channels.

• Support the wider team on other ad hoc tasks such as political monitoring and public affairs support.

Knowledge, skills and experience required for this position

• A demonstrable passion for and understanding of science, its purpose for the economy and society, and communicating that to public and political audiences.

• Minimum of 3-5 years in a press office or media-related environment.

• Confident in working in a fast-paced environment and ability to be quick and agile in responding to news opportunities as they arise. 

• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. Able to quickly establish rapport and build strong collaborative relationships. 

• Excellent time management skills: ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload.

• A strong team player who is also a self-starter who can work independently and confidently. An attitude that actively seeks continuous self-development and ways of doing things better.

High Value Partnerships Manager (Corporate and Trusts)

Essential

• Experience of creating and delivering a High Value strategy
• Experience of the full fundraising pipeline, including researching, cultivating and securing multi-year 5 or 6 figure donations from Trusts, Foundations or Corporate Partnerships (experience of both income streams a plus)

• Ability to project manage the delivery of partnerships including impact reporting
• Experience working in a CRM and analysing data to inform decision-making (Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus)

Legacy Officer (Maternity Cover)

Role Summary:

As part of the Major Gifts and Planned Giving team, this role is responsible for managing a caseload of approximately 80 legacy estates, including pecuniary, specific, residuary and life interest estates. The Legacy Officer will also assist the team with legacy enquiries and pledges, supporting donors on their legacy journey, as well as managing PETA’s free will services.

Position Objective:

• Ensure that gifts in wills to PETA are handled appropriately, sensitively and efficiently, maximising legacy income to support PETA’s mission to protect animals.
• Effectively communicate PETA’s mission to potential legacy supporters, and deal with enquiries from supporters in a timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Augustus Club

• Administer legacies in a professional and approachable manner, to include correspondence with solicitors and other interested parties
• Maintain departmental information, files, and records related to legacy estates
• Act as the point of contact and grow and mature relationships with stakeholders and external groups in order to attain information needed to carry out the role
• Work with various stakeholders on contested legacies, collaborating with other charities where needed
• Be able to communicate to supporters how important and desirable legacies are to PETA
• Respond to enquiries and requests for assistance from Augustus Club members and planned-giving prospects
• Document pertinent information about planned-giving members for the purpose of enhancing and building relationships
• Remain current on estate-planning practices as well as fundraising techniques and methods used in the non-profit sector, attending professional training seminars as needed

Day Care Officer – Day Care Centres 

Age UK Camden Day Care Centres are looking to recruit a Day Care Officer to cover 15 hours a week in shifts (3 x 5 hours) across our two Day Care Centres. 

There is a need to be flexible to be able to cover all days Monday to Friday and days are subject to change based on the rota. 

Our Centres provide a wide range of activities as well as being a specialist Day Care Centres caring for older people with complex needs. The Day Care Centres also provide a hot lunch and a range of special events. 

We have a dedicated, specialist team supporting people with care needs, including those living with mild - moderate dementia and complex needs. 

The successful candidate will: 

• Have shared responsibility in the team for the implementation of a comprehensive service of care and support for service users
