The Chartered College of Teaching is currently working on a number of exciting projects and therefore has multiple fixed term roles available to support our project work and business as usual.
By joining our team as an Learning Design and Assessment Manager, you’ll be helping us to support teachers, champion great teaching and raise the status of the profession by supporting teacher professional learning and accreditation. You will be an experienced teacher or leader, with an interest in teaching and learning, curriculum and assessment. You may also have experience designing or delivering teacher professional development within an education setting or via an education-focused organisation.

Salary: £34,000 - £40,000 pa (depending on experience)
Contract: Fixed term until March 2026.

The opportunity
As Learning Design and Assessment Manager you will play a key role in developing curriculum and content for our online courses, drawing on your experience and knowledge of teaching and learning to provide a coherent learning experience, ensuring that all content is of a very high quality and informed by the latest research and evidence. You will also support our accreditation function, designing assessments and supporting internal assessment and moderation processes.
There will be some flexibility in the role, meaning that we can tailor the work you will be involved with to suit your skillset. Working closely with colleagues in our Professional Learning and Accreditation Team, we expect that the Learning Design and Assessment Manager will:
- develop the curriculum and write and commission course content and materials for teachers and school leaders
- design training materials and, where relevant, directly deliver training and CPD to teachers and school leaders
- engage with education research to ensure the content and delivery of courses is informed by the best available evidence of effective practice
- design and develop assessments to support teacher certification and accreditation
- assess and moderate submissions; contribute to the ongoing development of robust assessment policies and processes
- develop assessment training and guidance for assessors, teachers, schools and delivery partners, as appropriate
- work with schools and organisations to support ongoing engagement in courses and programmes
- develop and implement robust content and delivery plans, overseeing projects and course development activity to ensure that courses are delivered on time, within budget and fulfil project requirements
- be provided with the time and support to engage in your own professional development.

Main Duties

The Role
This is an exciting role joining a Programme Team of 15 staff based throughout the UK. You will work closely and collaborate with the other Network Managers and share some priorities across regions, working to develop the region as a whole. The purpose of this role is to facilitate good relationships between the mentors and mentees in the region. 70-80% of the role is about relationship building (with schools, mentors and partners), coordination and the tracking/ administration of those relationships. 15-20% of the role is direct delivery with the girls in the region.
Mentoring programme
- Manage overall success of the cohorts (groups of mentees and mentors) in your region, including coordinating and administering events and communications for cohorts in your area.
- Deliver engaging on-boarding sessions for mentees.
- Design and deliver events and workshops for mentees.
- Deliver matching of mentees and mentors at in-person events or virtually.
- Work with the wider programme team to train mentors.
- Support mentors once matched through regular check-ins, monthly emails and ad-hoc conversations.
- Collect data to track the progress, and impact of, mentoring relationships.
- Support mentors with safeguarding concerns, following The Girls’ Network process in line with our child protection policy.
- Develop effective relationships with schools, on-boarding, supporting and retaining the partnerships.

- Work with the Senior Network Manager in your area to identify professional partnerships and sponsorship with local and national businesses.

The Chartered College of Teaching is currently working on a number of exciting projects, and is looking for an EdTech Evidence Lead who will play a key role in the success of these projects. The Opportunity
The EdTech Evidence Lead will play a key role in delivering one of our key projects, focusing on EdTech Evidence. Drawing on their experience and knowledge of EdTech, they will support EdTech companies and educators to build understanding about gathering and evaluating evidence for different EdTech products. They will develop guidance and materials to facilitate this, and work with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to develop resources, systems and processes that aim to promote and recognise ‘high-quality’ evidence around EdTech.
Main responsibilities include:
- Developing tools and resources to support individuals and organisations to engage with, and in, gathering and evaluating evidence around EdTech
- Developing guidance and training which helps EdTech companies plan and carry out evidence-gathering activities for their products and prepares them to submit evidence for formal review
- Contributing to the development and delivery of processes and systems for formally reviewing EdTech evidence
- Build relationships with EdTech companies and other key stakeholders to understand their use of evidence relating to EdTech and engage them with the project

Head of Policy Insights
Hours: 0.8 FTE (four days a week)
Location: Hybrid, with a focus on London. You’ll need to be in London to work from our office (near Victoria) one day a week and have about two other days per week to attend meetings with policy makers and our members. The Fair Education Alliance (FEA) unites 300 member organisations under a shared vision that no child’s success is limited by their socioeconomic background.
Our members (charities and social enterprises, think tanks, businesses and foundations, youth organisations, unions, universities and schools) are working collectively to create an inclusive system. We exist to close the gap in educational outcomes between children from low-income households and their wealthier peers.
This autumn, we’re kicking off our next strategic phase, which will take our work from neighbourhood to national, building a movement for systems change towards a fairer future for children and young people.
Why we need you
The gaps in educational outcomes between children from low-income households and their wealthier peers are staggering at every stage of education. This goes on to increase the likelihood that young people from low-income households will be out of employment, education, or training. We take a systems change approach to shifting the conditions that hold these inequities in place. With the next phase of our strategy underway—building a movement from neighbourhood to national—we need someone who can help us influence policy and practice with insight, evidence and urgency.
We aim to bring insights from our diverse and expert membership to policymakers, ensuring that local, regional and national policies best serve children and young people from low-income backgrounds. We support members to organise around themes through our collective action working groups, which have advised Government on topics such as Family Hubs, the Curriculum and Assessment Review, and the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill, and will continue to contribute expertise to upcoming policy moments related to SEND, Skills England and Ofsted. We also support youth voice in policymaking through our Youth Steering Group, which has contributed independently to major policy developments, bringing valuable lived experience to decision-making. From September, we’ll also support members, young people and government bodies to craft regional policy and practice that benefits children and young people from low-income backgrounds.
Our Digital Membership Tools (Member Directory and interactive Ecosystem Map) have the potential to play a crucial role in our policy work. These tools help members, funders, and policymakers target their work to where it is most needed. There is a wealth of data in these tools: the Ecosystem Map is the only place that marries up publicly available information about pupil demographics and outcomes with information about all 22,000 schools where our members are working. It shows where there is strong or weak provision related to different types of support, at a school, local authority, constituency, MAT or regional level, together with the outcomes pupils are achieving.
We now need someone who can harness these assets to produce compelling insights and engage policymakers—from local authorities and combined authorities to central government and funders. This role will turn data into impact: creating clear, targeted reports that support decision-making, identifying gaps and opportunities, and helping us tell the story of how education can—and must—be fairer.

Develop a strategy to influence policy from neighbourhood to national
You’ll lead our approach to turning insights into influence—connecting our data, member knowledge and youth voice to shape policy that improves outcomes for children and young people. That means designing a strategy that engages decision-makers at all levels, from civil servants and funders to combined authorities and Parliament. You’ll identify the right stakeholders and entry points, use our Ecosystem Map and Member Directory to generate targeted insights, and align our regional and national work for maximum impact.
Translate data into insight—and insight into action
You’ll be responsible for developing reports and briefings that tell powerful stories with data. Working closely with our Data Officer, you’ll design templates and processes to produce timely, high-quality outputs that are tailored to different audiences, and that enable the wider team to do so. You’ll complement our datasets with wider research and trends, and ensure our insights are used by both internal colleagues and external stakeholders to inform programmes, policy and funding decisions.
Engage senior stakeholders and building meaningful relationships
You’ll represent the Alliance in meetings, roundtables, and events—sharing evidence and building trusted relationships with policymakers, civil servants, and funders. You’ll understand their priorities, and tailor our insights accordingly. This is a two-way relationship: you’ll also feed what you learn, ensuring that our influencing work is responsive and grounded in both national priorities and lived experience.
Manage projects and continuously improve our tools
You’ll oversee the systems and processes that make our insights work possible—ensuring reporting cycles are efficient, quality is consistent, and new datasets are brought into our tools where they add value. You’ll help embed insights across the FEA team, supporting colleagues to use data from the Tools in their work and helping to identify emerging opportunities. You will evaluate the impact of your approaches and strategise for the future of the Tools and our influencing work. About us: Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. In this role you will have 6 key responsibilities:
Financial: Managing a portfolio of high-value relationships and to deliver income at the agreed annual target in the first year with an expectation this will rise year on year.

Essential Requirements
- Educated to degree level
- Experience of working with donors or in a relationship management environment
- Experience of utilising knowledge of audiences to develop donor involvement
- Your personal skills and attributes will need to include
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to successfully present project proposals to trusts and foundations
- Proficient skills in Microsoft applications
- Able to communicate positively, persuasively, and sensitively across functions and organisations
- Building strong partnerships across the organisation and maintaining a positive and friendly approach even under pressure
- The ability to positively influence non-direct reports in order to obtain information, or drive activity
- High levels of efficiency and quality – Excellent attention to detail
- Financially literate and able to interpret business plans
- Able to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Committed and mature Christian, able to demonstrate understanding and acceptance of the Statement of Faith and willing to proactively take part in MAF events and meetings e.g. prayer meetings, away days etc. Able to describe these beliefs and values to others so as to represent MAF as a Christian mission organisation

Benefits:
- Salary: £42,000 per annum depending upon experience
- Hours: This role is full time, 36 hours per week
- Pension: MAF UK provides a non-contributory pension scheme for staff of 10% salary on joining
- Annual leave entitlement: 22 days per year plus 8 statutory paid public holidays per year (including those falling at Christmas and New Year).
Location: This role can be based at the MAF UK Offices in Scotland, Glasgow, or optionally could be in the Oxford, Cambridge arc as we are launching a new hub in the Milton Keynes area, maximising our engagement with a thriving local aerospace and charity sector region. Up to two days a week in our Folkstone Office might be initially required.We welcome hybrid working in line with our flexible working policy, the needs of the business, the requirements of the role and your location. This will be discussed at interview.
