Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) is seeking a strategic and analytical Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting the College’s mission to improve child health by ensuring effective financial planning, reporting, and business partnering across the organisation.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will lead on the annual budgeting and forecasting process, produce regular financial performance reports, and develop financial models to support key strategic decisions. You will ensure that the College’s leadership has access to clear, insightful analysis to guide financial and operational planning.

You will foster a culture of effective business partnering, providing expert financial advice and support to budget holders and colleagues across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the annual budgeting process and developing regular reforecasts in alignment with the College’s strategic priorities
• Producing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analysis
• Developing financial models to support key strategic and operational decisions
• Providing financial insight and advice to senior leadership and budget holders to support informed decision-making
• Line managing and developing the Finance Analyst, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement
• Ensuring the integrity of financial information through robust processes, controls, and analytical review
• Partnering with the Financial Controller to support compliance, audit preparation, and financial controls
• Supporting finance system development and the use of tools such as Power BI for enhanced reporting

Essential skills and experience include:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in financial management roles
• Strong analytical skills and ability to provide clear, actionable insights
• Proven experience of leading budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Advanced Excel skills and experience of financial modelling

About you:

You're a qualified accountant with strong process improvement experience who thrives on identifying inefficiencies and implementing better ways of working. You're excited by the prospect of shaping an entire area within a finance function.

You're a problem-solver who constantly asks, "how can we do this better?" You have a genuine curiosity about how things work and a drive to continuously improve. Existing knowledge of VAT compliance, particularly partial exemption, would be beneficial, as would broader familiarity with Corporation Tax, Gift Aid, and other statutory obligations. However, what matters most is your appetite to learn and your determination to find better ways forward.

You'll have:

• Proven experience driving process improvements in a finance environment, demonstrating where you've identified inefficiencies, redesigned workflows, or delivered measurable improvements.
• A CCAB qualification achieved through education, or demonstrable equivalent knowledge and experience that evidences your understanding of the role's requirements.
• Some experience with VAT, Corporation Tax, Gift Aid, or other UK tax regulations. You don't need to be a tax specialist, but you should have exposure to tax compliance and a genuine interest in developing deep expertise in this area.
• The ability to quickly build technical knowledge and confidence in complex tax scenarios, with a problem-solving approach to navigating regulations.
• Experience working with HMRC or other regulatory bodies, demonstrating credibility and professionalism in external relationships.
• Demonstrated experience as a Financial Accountant in a large or complex organisation.
• The ability to work effectively across departments and at all levels, translating complex financial or technical matters into practical guidance.
• Experience with cloud-based ERP systems (we use Unit4) and a mindset of continuous improvement.

Programme Coordinator

We are seeking a Programme Coordinator to support high-impact projects that enable finance play a meaningful role in building a fairer, greener and more resilient economy.

Salary: £34,000–£43,000pa DOE

About the Role

As Programme Coordinator, you will play a key role in delivering the Impact Investing Organisation’s innovative programmes, helping to create practical solutions that enable private capital to address major societal challenges. Working with colleagues across the organisation and a wide range of external partners, you’ll support activities spanning research, stakeholder engagement, project coordination and thought leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

You will have experience contributing to projects and working with stakeholders, as well as producing high quality written materials for varied audiences. You will be comfortable managing multiple tasks, adaptable to changing priorities and confident taking initiative with the right support.

Digital literacy (e.g. Microsoft 365), strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to the belief that finance can drive positive social impact are essential.
Experience in investment, financial services, social impact, policy or related fields is welcome but not required.

About the Role

This is a specialist position within a growing Service Charge team, focused on managing the full Section 20 statutory consultation process. You will take ownership of consultations from start to finish, ensuring all notices, communications and documentation meet legislative requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading Section 20 statutory consultation processes in line with Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 and Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002
• Issuing notices, logging follow ups and responding to observations within required timeframes
• Reconciling final major works costs and communicating outcomes to residents within statutory deadlines
• Issuing invoices for works within the 18 month recovery period
• Managing resident queries and providing clear guidance on legal requirements
• Working closely with Homeownership, Technical Services, Procurement, Estate Services, Finance and Service Charge teams
• Identifying non recoverable costs and escalating potential risks
• Maintaining accurate records on internal systems and supporting financial reconciliations

• Experience of Section 20 consultation processes, compliance and service charge administration
• Strong knowledge of leasehold legislation including Landlord and Tenant Act 1985 and Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002
• Understanding of First tier Tribunal applications relating to dispensation and service charge disputes
