Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable young people in Hertfordshire since 1998. We are professional, passionate, collaborative and supportive charity that provides guidance to young people in need of support.

Yu will deliver a high-quality housing advice service to all young people, aged 18-24yrs, who require housing advice & confirmation of their realistic housing options working closely with colleagues and partners to ensure the effective engagement of young people who could be in crisis to prevent current or repeat homelessness.

Key Details

Salary: £37,000 per annum with generous benefits including 25 days annual holiday plus public holidays, enhanced pension contribution, private medical health insurance, life assurance, and flexible/hybrid working

The Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer will play a key role in the team securing critical income from global and national corporate partners and from our network of committed community fundraisers.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Fundraising

· Take the lead on managing a portfolio of small and medium corporate partners - taking responsibility for all aspects of these partnerships, including communication, staff activities, events, reporting, income collection and acknowledgements

· Provide support to the Senior P&P Manager in activities relating to OSUK’s global corporate partners through managing employee-led activities across the portfolio.

· To manage and develop new initiatives for employee engagement and community participants

· Support on new business acquisition, specifically in creating new avenues for income generation through existing partnerships.

· Responsible for managing inbound enquiries relating to corporate partnerships

· Lead on producing corporate-related social media and communications content

· Maintain orderly upkeep of all relevant records and databases

Community Fundraising

· Lead on the handling of all inbound community fundraising correspondence, including donations received, merchandise and speaking requests

· Develop a strong understanding of fundraising platforms such as Just Giving and Enthuse, maintaining their upkeep and reconciliation with Operation Smile's financial and reporting systems

Additional Responsibilities

· Expand your understanding of Operation Smile’s programmatic work globally, of cleft lip and palate conditions, health system strengthening and the global surgery sector

· Support other areas of the Partnership Team’s work, including events.

As Retail Systems & Operations Executive, you will be the operational lead for our retail technology systems (including our EPOS system), overseeing supplier relationships, supporting store teams, and ensuring systems run efficiently across the shop network. • Lead retail system elements of shop openings, closures, refits, and maintenance projects.

• Provide training and create guidance resources to support system users across the retail network.
• Ensure compliance with data protection, safeguarding, and organisational technology standards.
• Monitor system performance and budget, and contribute to annual technology planning and business cases.
• Support technology change projects and ensure effective implementation across the retail estate.
• Lead day-to-day improvements in retail operations and support the central operations team.

About the opportunity
We're in a fantastic position to have recently have partnered with the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) for an evaluation of our programmes. 

We are now recruiting for a Programme Coordinator for our schools in Bristol. The role will also oversee our partner schools in Dorset remotely, with infrequent travel to Dorset.

• The Bristol Programme Coordinator oversees a caseload of up to seven partner schools. They manage the logistics and organisation of each school’s tutoring programme, working closely with the schools and pupils and managing the pool of volunteer tutors. They attend the weekly tutoring sessions at each school, as well as overseeing the quality of face to face and online tutoring, always working to deliver a great impact.
• The Bristol Programme Coordinator supports the recruitment of volunteer tutors, manages the tutor sign up process, develops relationships with schools including their Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers, collects data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, and works with other internal teams on business development opportunities.

Duties and responsibilities

• Responsible for the delivery of Action Tutoring’s tutoring programmes in partner schools, whether online or face to face. This includes working closely to manage all key stakeholders: schools, pupils and volunteer tutors; regularly attending weekly tutoring sessions; leading on reviewing and improving programme delivery, using data to reliably assess programme performance.
• Responsible for overseeing the quality of tutoring, engaging in quality assurance processes, and providing feedback to volunteer tutors to ensure effective and impactful delivery. Provide regular check-ins with tutors to ensure ample support and guidance is given to provide targeted tuition to pupils.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in partner schools, including members of the Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers. Maintain clear and timely communication with relevant school staff, offering regular check-ins with key school stakeholders, and contribute to impact reporting to schools. Supporting the Programme Manager with strategies to retain and sustain school partnerships.
• Update and accurately maintain Action Tutoring’s database, including collecting timely data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, such as attendance records, baseline and interim assessments and pupil surveys. Reporting regularly on key performance indicators to key stakeholders and using them to enhance programme delivery. Work with the Programme Manager on business development, approaching new schools that might be interested in working with Action Tutoring.
• Proactively report to the Programme Manager on the details of Action Tutoring’s operations in their partner schools.

Corporate Fundraiser

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic fundraiser with strong relationship-building skills to develop and grow sustainable income through corporate partnerships.

Position: Corporate Fundraiser
Location: Bradford / Hybrid, in the field and in the office 1 day a week
Salary: £31,500 pro rata
Hours: Part-time, 22.5 hours per week

· Comfortable using databases and social media for fundraising purposes

· Willing to work occasional evenings or weekends to attend events

A driving licence and access to a vehicle will be advantageous for this role.

About the Role

As part of our collaborative Finance Business Partnering team, you’ll support fundraising, communications, advocacy, and activism across Mencap. You’ll provide clear financial advice, insightful analysis, and strong financial management to ensure our fundraising income is used effectively to benefit people with learning disabilities.

Over the next five years Mencap have big ambitions to significantly grow our fundraising income and increase our influencing and campaigning impact to ensure people with a learning disability can live life to the full.

This role is a full time permanent position. There is flexibility around where the role is based. We have large offices in London and Peterborough and smaller offices located throughout the UK.

You will need to travel occasionally for meetings. However, this role will primarily be working remotely.

Key responsibilities include:

• Partnering with directorate teams to create robust budgets and forecasts, offering support and advice for realistic financial planning.
• Providing clear financial reports and analysis to help teams understand results, spot emerging issues, and make informed decisions.
• Supporting complex income forecasting (e.g. legacies), using scenario analysis to guide planning and assess risk.
• Delivering financial analysis and modelling to support investment decisions.
• Ensuring funding applications and management of restricted funds are accurate and compliant.
• Improving finance processes and reporting, including with our new Salesforce fundraising CRM system.
• Acting as key contact for external auditors and funders regarding fundraising financials.
• Ensuring accounting and financial compliance with Charity SORP and other relevant regulations.
• Managing and coaching an FBP team member, supporting their development.

 What You’ll Bring

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in finance business partnering, ideally within a charity or fundraising environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data.
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.
• Clear communication and influencing skills, able to explain financial information to others.
• Motivation to improve systems and processes.
• Commitment to improving the lives of people with a learning disability.

Highly desirable:

• Knowledge of Charity SORP and charity finance regulations.

• Familiarity with fundraising bids, donor engagement, and business development.

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Medair UK team as we are seeking a part-time Operations Support Officer. The post holder will be responsible for Medair UK’s financial and office administration, including maintenance of the organisation’s CRM database and some fundraising support. You will ensure the accurate processing and timely delivery of donor and financial information and acting as first point of contact for the organisation, you will be responding to supporter enquiries. You will also provide general office, and IT support to the Head of Operations.

Medair is a Christian humanitarian organisation that responds to conflict, disease, and disaster so that the world’s most vulnerable and hard-to reach people can live with dignity and hope. Medair UK is an affiliate of the Swiss-based humanitarian organisation, Medair International.

Together, we work in some of the most remote and difficult places on earth, empowering people to build a better future. This year our teams in Sudan have remained operational, working under the most difficult conditions, and launched a new response in Chad to support those fleeing across the borders. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, we received global coverage as one of the first responders saving the lives of communities affected by Mpox – and no lives were lost amongst those we treated. We also scaled up in Lebanon supporting at displaced communities affected by the conflict. In 2024 through our experienced national and international teams we helped 3,743,021  people across 13 countries.

About you

You will have experience of working in an office administration role, including financial processing and have proven experience with databases. You will be comfortable working with and prioritising high volumes of work. In addition to your experience of completing routine, complex tasks accurately and systematically, you will be able to maintain quality and attention to detail. Confident, polite and professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team, you will have strong planning and organisational skills, with experience of maintaining office and administrative systems

Key Activities

      Donation Processing

• Responsible for the timely recording and processing of all incoming donations (including via our website, bank account, third party platforms and cheques) into the Medair UK CRM (Salesforce).
• Ensure all donors receive gift acknowledgements / thank you letters corresponding to each gift received.
• Maintain up-to-date records of donors, staff and other contacts in the Medair UK database.
• Process and record completed Gift Aid declarations and support in the regular reclaim of Gift Aid.

      Financial Administration

• Inputting of all financial data (income and expenditure) into Quick Books.
• Preparing and following up suppliers invoices for payment.
• Processing expenses claims.
• Managing the banking of income and supporter cheques.
• Support the Head of Operations to implement the month and year end reconciliation process for both Salesforce and Quick Books.

      Facilities & Office Management

• Act as first point of contact for the office and public enquiries, responding to incoming telephone calls and emails.
• Answer basic enquiries about Medair's work and distributing information to supporters and others as required.
• Manage and order office supplies, stationery and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment, administrating risk assessments, H&S and fire safety procedures.

      Information Technology

• Ensuring the maintenance of the IT system and handling minor in-house IT technical issues for staff and volunteers. 
• Liaising with the Global Support Office IT Helpdesk team to ensure the timely set up of IT for new staff and volunteers – i.e. setting up email addresses, and relevant permissions.
• Ensuring that IT permissions are current, and that these are amended as and when staff and volunteers leave.
• Assisting with continuous improvements in Medair UK’s use of IT.

​    Engagement Support

• Supporting fundraising activities with data segmentation and the production of standard and custom reports in Salesforce
• Supporting the production and automation of email newsletter and appeals via Campaign Monitor
• Setting up new Salesforce campaigns with tailored reports and dashboards to track donations.
• Producing digital surveys and web-forms as required.
• Providing support to Medair’s virtual events, including the technical administration of Zoom and pre and post event attendee administration.           

      HR Administration

• Organising and co-ordinating staff and volunteer inductions ensuring that the induction checklist is completed.
• Supporting the Head of Operations with team training and organisational learning and development opportunities.

Qualifications - DESIRABLE

• Vocational qualification in business or financial management / administration desirable

 Languages

• Excellent English (spoken and written).

 Experience / Competencies – ESSENTIAL

• Experience of office administration / financial administration
• Experience of Microsoft Office solutions, including Excel and Word; Internet and email proficient
• Experience of fundraising or other database(s), ideally Salesforce and Campaign Monitor
• Experience of finance packages
