The role

The Opportunity
The Manager role works across ImpactEd Evaluation. Our partners encompass education organisations such as charities, edtech organisations and government, and schools and multi-academy Trusts. We aim to deliver high-quality research and evaluation projects that help our partners make better decisions to benefit young people.
You will act as a consultant on a range of different partnerships to help partners develop their evaluation strategy and approach. For example, you could deliver independent evaluations for organisations like the Careers and Enterprise Company, Nesta or multi-academy Trusts such as Lift Schools. You will also have opportunities to contribute to development of team strategy and learning and development resources.
As a manager you will act as a project lead, delivering high-quality research projects at scale, and support the creation of specific deliverables for projects led by others. This covers the end to end of research design and delivery, including the creation of Theories of Change and evaluation frameworks, data collection and analysis, and impact reporting to help our partners learn about the effectiveness of their programmes. The newly established Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Business Partnering team are the first point of contact for all Barnardo's colleagues to access expert advice and guidance for all DDaT enquiries and requests.
DDaT Business Partners align our plans with the charity's purpose and ensure our solutions enable colleagues to be successful in their roles. By fostering close collaboration, DDaT Business Partners deeply understand the needs of each part of the charity, feeding insight into DDaT solutions design and initiatives. They also facilitate effective communication between DDaT and stakeholders, translating complex concepts into useful intelligence. The Business Partners are the voice of our colleagues in our conversations, and the voice of DDaT when engaging across the charity. They also help our colleagues to make the most of the solutions we have, and undertake familiarisation activities and demonstrations to help colleagues improve their digital confidence.
The Senior Manager – DDaT Business Partner, will report to the Director of Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) and will be a member of the DDaT Leadership Team. The post holder will be responsible for establishing this new function, recruiting and leading the Business Partners, and growing organisational awareness of the purpose and benefits of DDaT Business Partnering.
The post holder will be responsible for engagement with Assistant-Director-level and above stakeholders, recruit the new Business Partners, align working practices with the new DDaT Operating Model, identify engagement opportunities and all other similar practices to establish this new function. The post holder will then lead the team in undertaking day to day business partnering activities.

We are looking for an interim Philanthropy Manager to manage donor giving with a focus on five and six figure gifts, from trusts and possibly some major donors for a short term 3 month contract with the potential to extend.
This is a UK remote working role with quarterly meet ups as well as donor meetings.

The Role
Manage a mixed portfolio of individual and trust/foundation prospects and donors.
Design and deliver innovative and engaging stewardship and cultivation plans for prospects and donors.
Manage donor-led cultivation opportunities/events where they are the relationship lead, eg private dinners.
Work with advocates to identify opportunities within their networks to introduce new prospects to the charity.
Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support donor relationship management.
The Candidate
Proven experience of major donor fundraising with a track record of initiating new relationships, making the ask and developing long term donor relationships.
Experience of designing stewardship journeys for major donor supporters, resulting in increased affinity to the organisation and donation uplift.
Experience of sharing philanthropic opportunities with high-net-individuals in a professional and engaging manner, with a flair for adapting to their individual aspirations.
Experience of successfully developing senior stakeholder relationships (both internally and externally).

The Grants Officer will support the Senior Manager to develop and implement monitoring and reporting
processes across the Foundation’s grant-giving activities. To be successful in the role, you must have
excellent knowledge of results-based monitoring and reporting, demonstrate strong organisational and
administrative skills, and ideally have experience working with colleagues from different cultural
backgrounds.
The initial focus of the role will be monitoring and reporting in relation to the implementation of a Big 6
EU funded programme, the Youth Empowerment Fund (YEF). This programme focuses on supporting
youth-led initiatives, giving young people the means to be effective agents of change. The YEF is global
in its reach but will focus on supporting local solutions and grassroots initiatives that young people
develop on the ground. The Officer will play a key role in supporting the Senior Manager to maintain and
grow Big 6 advocacy and partnerships for the short and long-term. This role will also work closely with
colleagues from the Operations and Finance team to ensure accurate information is delivered to key
stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Youth Empowerment Fund (60%):
- Support the monitoring and reporting of the EU funded YEF programme. Including coordinationwithin the IAF and with the Big 6 designated leads.
- Communicating with and activating networks of national organizations to participate in the YEF,including sharing opportunities to take part in Big 6 advocacy activities and applying for youthled solutions open-call Local Solutions grants.
- Issuing of grants to successful national organizations and monitoring and evaluation, including regular reporting on outcomes and impact of national projects to the YEF project team.
- Sharing success stories from the YEF to support the Big 6 communication, storytelling and creative reporting efforts.
Other Grant based support (40%):
- Oversee grant-giving financial processes, creating and issuing of grant payments.
- Support the Senior Operations Manager with the reporting of grant activities for Senior Management and various stakeholders.
- Support the ongoing development of other Foundation grant reporting efforts as required.
- Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required for the successful delivery of the Foundation’s business objectives.
