Job description

An exciting opportunity to lead on the smooth running of Home Start Southwark’s administrative systems and procedures, including running our website and social media platforms, coordination of data management, communications, policy, and health & safety requirements.

Hours: 36 hours per week (Full time)

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: £28,000 pro-rata (inclusive of £3,470 London weighting)

Start time: September/October 2021

About You

You are a talented administrator who is proactive, organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated. You are competent and confident communicator with relevant administration experience and a flexible attitude to your role. You are looking for a role where your ability to work independently, managing all office functions will be valued; the benefits of working in a small, dedicated team appeals to you. You are comfortable working in a paperless environment and actively look for innovative solutions to further this agenda.

About us

Home-Start Southwark has been providing targeted early intervention for vulnerable children and families for the past 24 years.  Our team of Coordinators recruit, train and support volunteers from the local community who help families to build on their strengths and increase their potential to make changes to improve their lives.

About the role

You will lead the operation of Home Start Southwark’s administrative systems and procedures, ensuring that they meet the needs of the charity. You will also work closely with the Director to support fundraising bids and meet reporting requirements for trusts and foundations. You will support Trustees to ensure all legal responsibilities of the charity are met.

Your knowledge, skills and behaviours:

· Ability to work independently and with others in open, enthusiastic, and collaborative way

· Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills, as well as confidence speaking and liaising with stakeholders

· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage databases and personal information in line with GDPR

· Ability to manage website and social media platforms promoting HSS proactively

· Ability to prepare payroll functions, process financial transactions, and manage banking to support our Bookkeeper and Treasurer

· Experienced in coordinating HR systems to ensure recruitment, onboarding and contractual obligations are effectively implemented

· Accountable and responsible, always doing what you say you will do to the best of your ability
