About the Role
Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week/ 24 months FTC

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Internal Audit to establish and lead a new, independent internal audit function at MAP. Reporting functionally to the Audit & Risk Governance Committee and administratively to the CEO, this role provides high-level assurance on the effectiveness of MAP’s governance, risk management, and control frameworks across both UK and international operations.
 
As a standalone position, the role will shape MAP’s internal audit vision, lead audits across all areas of the charity’s work (including field visits to oPt, Egypt, and Lebanon), and play a critical role in safeguarding MAP’s integrity, transparency, and performance.

About You
You’ll bring: A relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIA, CMIIA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
Significant experience (5+ years) in internal audit or risk roles, with a track record of leading audits and engaging with senior leadership. Knowledge of UK charity regulation, compliance, and audit best practices.
Strong analytical, reporting, and influencing skills. Integrity, independence, and cultural sensitivity
Field experience or work in humanitarian or NGO settings is desirable, as is fluency in Arabic.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• A qualified accountant with significant experience in senior leadership roles, within the not-for-profit sector.
• Strong track record in strategic financial planning and working closely with Boards; in-depth knowledge of Charity SORP, experience preparing statutory accounts, and sound understanding of charity law and regulatory frameworks, including company secretarial responsibilities.
• Proven experience of managing central services, including governance, IT, infrastructure, health & safety, and facilities functions.
• A strategic, adaptable leader with experience driving organisational change, implementing new ways of working, and developing effective, resilient teams through periods of transformation.
• Commercially astute and technically skilled, with excellent interpersonal, facilitation, negotiation, and influencing abilities; able to build trust and inspire high performance.
• Collaborative and consultative approach, with the ability to engage and influence a broad range of stakeholders.
• Strong alignment with the values and mission of a purpose-driven organisation.
• Willing and able to travel within the UK (and occasionally internationally), with flexibility to work outside standard hours when needed.

This role is open to candidates with the right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship. This role offers hybrid working with the candidate expected to be in the office once every 2 weeks, more during busy periods. This role is full-time, however, working 4 days/week.

Our Location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. • To carry out statutory annual reviews of Foster Carers.

Birmingham Friends of the Earth (BFoE) is a non-profit organisation campaigning to create a more sustainable and fairer Birmingham. We empower others to take action, we hold decision-makers to account on climate change, waste, nature and clean air, and we make sure environmental justice is at the heart of everything we do, campaigning intersectionally and inclusively. As well as having an active volunteer-led campaigns group, we run The Warehouse, our lively environmental community centre in Digbeth and a key centre for the city’s activism. BFoE is linked to Friends of the Earth, the national organisation, but independent and able to campaign on issues that matter to us, in ways that resonate with us.

The purpose of the role, part of our small staff team of 5, is to lead our campaigns activity, working with and supporting our campaigns group.

User Voice is a pioneering charity that works with people with convictions to support and develop their confidence, skills and mindsets. They then deliver our programmes to many more people who are impacted by the criminal justice system.

This exciting role will involve coordinating communications to promote our work and engage stakeholders, and assisting in the development and implementation of plans to secure financial support for the charity, by aligning fundraising and communication strategies.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced and values-driven Senior Fundraising Manager to help us grow and diversify our income in support of CSE’s mission.

This is a strategic and hands-on role that will see you lead charitable fundraising activity across trusts and foundations, individual giving and corporate partnerships. You will work closely with the Director of Development & External Affairs to set and deliver ambitious but realistic income targets and identify opportunities that align with our goals.

You will support the development of high-quality, compelling funding proposals in collaboration with our delivery teams. You will also contribute to organisational strategy, refine internal systems and processes, and provide leadership to other development team members.

Who you are

You are a creative and collaborative fundraiser with a strong track record of securing funding and developing projects with social impact. You are comfortable taking ownership, spotting opportunities, and communicating persuasively with funders, colleagues and partners.

You bring strategic thinking, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You enjoy working across teams and disciplines and are committed to building relationships and growing impact.

You will bring:

• Demonstrable experience of securing significant funding from charitable trusts and foundations.
• A broad range of fundraising experience across corporate, statutory and individual giving.
• Experience of writing compelling proposals, tenders and expressions of interest.
• Knowledge of fundraising compliance and best practice, including data protection (GDPR).
• A collaborative mindset and confidence working with senior stakeholders and delivery teams.
• Experience of line management and supporting others to learn and grow.

We’re looking for two Place Leads to help drive our work in Stoke-on-Trent and East Staffordshire. Each role will be rooted in its local area, but both will work across the whole county, helping us build more connected, inclusive systems that support people to be active in ways that matter to them.

This work is part of a wider investment from Sport England, focused on changing how systems support people to be active. That means shaping how physical activity is understood, prioritised, and embedded, not just in programmes, but in policies, partnerships, and everyday decisions. That includes health, local government, community development, and beyond.

You’ll work with partners, communities, and decision-makers to make sense of what’s already happening, spot where things are stuck, and help shift both the culture and the practice. The work will be messy, layered, and relational. Some days will be about strategy. Others will be about trust.

What does this mean day to day?

• You’ll spend time listening to what’s emerging in communities, building trust with partners, and making sense of how insight, decisions, and action travel across the system.
• You’ll support our governance groups, coordinating agendas, shaping recommendations, and helping hold people gently but clearly to account for the things they’ve committed to.
• You’ll track where energy is building, where its leaking, and where attention needs to shift. That means spotting patterns, asking difficult questions, and making sure conversations lead to decisions, and decisions lead to change.
• You’ll need to hold contradictions without forcing resolution: where different truths exist at once, where progress creates new tensions, and where outcomes are unclear. Critical thinking is key; this role is as much about reflection and challenge as it is about delivery.
• Some days you’ll be co-designing a development session. Other days, you’ll be reflecting on what’s working, what’s drifting, and how we bring things back into focus. You’ll be supported by a small team who care about doing this work well, with clarity, kindness, and a shared sense of purpose.

1. Fundraising Strategy & Planning

2. Donor Relationship Management
   • Cultivate existing donor relationships and establish new donor networks to increase long-term engagement and support.
   • Create compelling cases for support, proposals, and campaigns that reflect IAC UK’s values and impact.
      
3. Volunteer Recruitment & Coordination
   • Oversee the recruitment, training, and retention of volunteers to support all fundraising activities.
   • Develop volunteer engagement initiatives, ensuring volunteers are well-supported and recognized for their contributions.
      
4. Event & Campaign Management
   • Plan and execute a variety of fundraising events, online campaigns, and community initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
   • Manage event logistics, supplier negotiations, and campaign communications to maximize awareness and financial return.
      
5. Budget & Financial Oversight
   • Prepare and manage the fundraising budget, monitoring income targets and expenditure.
   • Compile regular progress reports for senior leadership and trustees, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
      
6. Compliance & Governance
   • Ensure that all fundraising activities comply with UK regulations, GDPR requirements, and the Code of Fundraising Practice.
   • Maintain accurate records and documentation to enable transparent reporting and auditing.
      
7. Team Leadership & Collaboration
   • Lead, mentor, and motivate a small fundraising team, setting clear objectives and managing performance.
   • Collaborate with other departments (Marketing, Events, Finance) to integrate fundraising efforts into the wider organisational strategy.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Demonstrable experience (3+ years) in a fundraising or development role within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
• Proven success in securing grants, major gifts, or corporate sponsorships, with a track record of meeting or exceeding income targets.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Excellent project management and organisational skills, able to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines effectively.
