Hertfordshire Mind Network deliver essential mental health support in Hertfordshire, providing a diverse range of services from our seven Wellbeing Centres and other venues across all ten districts of the county. Funded locally, our services are available to all residents in Hertfordshire over the age of 18 and we offer dedicated services for 5–18-year-olds.

We help individuals experiencing mental ill health to make choices, find their solutions, build resilience and manage their wellbeing. We offer opportunities for individuals to get support to allow them to recover from or live with mental ill health.

Each year, we help 15,000 people experiencing mental ill health.

About the Role

Hertfordshire Mind Network (HMN) is a local Mind, we are an independent charity, although affiliated to national Mind – the leading mental health charity in England and Wales, we are not funded by our affiliation, we are responsible for raising our own funds directly through contracts, grants and fundraising.

As a Fundraising Officer, you’ll play a key role in expanding our fundraising activity across Hertfordshire. We’re looking for someone proactive and energetic, who can grow connections, raise our profile, and build lasting relationships across the community.

This role is an exciting opportunity to engage with a wide range of supporters – from individuals and community groups to local businesses and organisations – helping to raise both awareness and vital income for Hertfordshire Mind Network.

A great opportunity has risen for a Sporting + Events Officer to join our ambitious team to help deliver our biggest Fundraising event, the London Marathon and project manage at least one of our other core events to drive income and maximise ROI for the charity.

Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. You will support the Sporting + Event Manager to deliver the London Marathon, taking ownership of key projects and events within the London Marathon journey and overseeing supporter journeys, recruitment, communications, and event logistics. At Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) we champion animal welfare around the world. We send vets where they are needed most, provide expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ship urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year.

We deploy teams of vets and vet nurses, send equipment and supplies to help struggling organisations on the front line of animal welfare, and train vets at our international training centres in India, Thailand, Malawi and the Galápagos Islands.  We also work on strategic one health projects such as rabies elimination campaigns with Governments and NGOs all over the world.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

 Policy and Governance

• Assist with organisation of trustee meetings.
• Maintain up-to-date records of policies, procedures, and statutory documentation.
• Support compliance with Charity Commission requirements.
• Coordinate risk management processes, policy reviews and ensure timely updates and dissemination.
• Work closely with colleagues to provide technical advice and ease the implementation of policies at WVS projects around the world.

Role Purpose

The Policy and Impact Team sits at the heart of Volunteering Matters. We play a vital role in demonstrating the impact of our work connecting data, qualitative insight, and lived experience to the policy agendas shaping communities across the UK. Through storytelling, analysis, and evidence, we make sure volunteering is recognised as a driving force for social change.

We are a small, hands-on team. You will be involved in every aspect of our work from desk-based research and writing briefings to organising external meetings and working directly in communities alongside our volunteers. This variety allows you to connect national policy with local realities and help volunteers share their voices where it matters most.

 You will help bring our five-year strategy to life by linking project outcomes to broader societal developments and showcasing the impact of volunteers and communities.

Key Duties Responsibilities

· Support the Head of Policy and Impact to coordinate Volunteering Matters’ policy and public affairs work.

· Support people involved with our volunteering projects to engage with local politicians, e.g. by organising visits to projects or meetings with volunteers. 

· Monitor and respond to opportunities (e.g. relevant government consultations, All-Party Parliamentary Group inquiries or Select Committee inquiries) that are relevant to Volunteering Matters’ priorities.

· Support mapping and research exercises to inform our policy positioning. Writing summary reports as needed.

· Collaborate with the National Volunteer Engagement Manager to support the inclusion of volunteer and community voices in our policy and public affairs work.

· Assist with collecting impact and activity data from across the charity and work with the Data Analyst to undertake analysis.

· Support with routine collection of quarterly data from projects - ensuring responses are timely and accurate, providing guidance to project managers as needed.

· Work with project staff to help create impactful and engaging reports.

· Represent Volunteering Matters at charity and volunteering policy-related groups. 

 Essential Skills

· Understanding of UK political systems and policy-making processes across national, devolved, and local levels.

· Understanding of policy, public affairs, or influencing, ideally within the voluntary or community sector.

· Confident communicator, able to engage with policymakers, sector partners, and community representatives.

· Familiarity with both qualitative and quantitative data analysis to inform narrative reporting and strategic insight.

· Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive documents based on data and lived experience.

The Role

The current CEO, Denise Stygal-Watson, has done a fantastic job since joining the charity over four years ago and will be handing over an organisation at an exciting time in its development. Great work has already been done but the charity needs to continue to build its network, develop partnerships with local companies, as well as grow its donor income, including legacies, to build on its base of earned income from its retail revenue. About the role

We are looking for two experienced Community Engagement Officers to support NatureCityNorwich – a three-year multi-partner project supported through Nature Towns and Cities, a programme funded by National Lottery players to help urban areas protect and enhance their natural heritage.

The project will co-create a community-led urban nature recovery action plan, placing nature and people at the heart of Norwich’s future. It will map and address the city’s ‘nature gaps’, improve access to green and blue spaces, and empower communities to shape a more resilient, biodiverse and inclusive city.

The role will see the successful applicants carrying out an extensive listening and engagement programme across Norwich to support an ambitious community-led nature recovery action plan for the city. You’ll work closely with partners including Norwich City Council, Norfolk County Council, South Norfolk and Broadland District Council and other key stakeholders to create a lasting legacy for nature in the city.

Programme Delivery Officer role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Programmes Team as a Programme Delivery Officer. PDOs are responsible for supporting and coordinating the delivery of First Give in up to 50 schools, ensuring smooth running of the programme, providing guidance and troubleshooting for the Lead Teachers.

The role is home-based, in Yorkshire, with regular travel to schools across the county and occasional forays to schools in the North-West. Several times a year travel will be required to London, where our office is based.

Key responsibilities

• Provide logistic and programme support to teachers delivering the First Give programme at their school, including but not limited to:
