Birthrights is the UK’s leading charity championing respectful, rights-based maternity care. We believe every woman and birthing person has the right to dignified, personalised care throughout pregnancy and childbirth. 

As our Training Co-ordinator you will coordinate and deliver Birthrights' human rights in maternity care training across England and Wales, working closely with the Training Manager and overseeing Associate Trainers.

Our Training Coordinators possess confident facilitation skills, with the ability to hold inclusive, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed space, and have knowledge of human rights law and healthcare law; particularly how the law applies to pregnancy and childbirth.

The role includes the following responsibilities:

• Training Delivery, Coordination and Preparation: manage end-to-end training logistics and maintain strong communication with Associate Trainers and Organisers.

• Impact Assessment and Evaluation: develop and embed measurable ways to evaluate training impact and outcomes for participants and maternity service users

• Communication Management and Team Support: work within the small and remote Birthrights' Training team, whilst also working closely with the Advice and Campaigns teams to ensure insights and trends inform training content.

Who we're looking for:

We're looking for a team player who has a track record of working in training development or delivery, and someone who will show commitment to our values, inclusion, and to working on their own biases and beliefs.

Do you consider yourself to be a self-starter, possessing the curiosity to investigate new opportunities and relationships and make recommendations without being asked? 

Are you highly organised and confident using digital tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Office, and can flex easily between strategic and hands-on tasks?

If your communication skills are excellent both verbally and in writing, and you are able to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders from healthcare professionals to community members, with sensitivity and empathy - this could be the role for you.

We'd love it if you had an understanding of the nature of oppression and a specific understanding of anti-Black racism and how it manifests itself in society, coupled with a commitment to challenge the systems of oppression and injustice.

Equally we welcome applicants with knowledge of the inequalities and barriers faced within maternity care systems, or people who can demonstrate equivalent knowledge through lived experience, self-directed learning, or community-based work.
