Main purpose of post
An Appeal Support Officer is required to support the activity associated with a
major appeal for the charity. The appeal will raise £1.85m enabling a step change
in our support of Weston Park Cancer Centre.
Reporting to and working closely with our Senior Major Donor & Philanthropy
Manager, Appeal Consultant and Head of Fundraising, you will support the
coordination of appeal activity planning, as we undertake the public phase of the
appeal.
Supporting our established Appeal Board, you will coordinate communications,
prospecting and stewardship management of our major donor growth
programme and portfolio, as we build up both our private fundraising phase and
undertake our wider public fundraising activity.
You will help bring together a range of different public fundraising activities
planned for the next 12 months.
Key Responsibilities
Support management of the appeal prospects portfolio, including research,
due diligence checks, profiles development and relationship management
plans.
Coordinate and manage the appeal plan, including all facets of both the
private and public fundraising phases, liaising with appointed agencies and
contractors.
Directly support the Appeal Board with communication, prospecting and
donor management planning, under the direct supervision and guidance of
the Senior Major Donor & Philanthropy Manager and Appeal Consultant.
Act as a single point of contact for public appeal enquires and coordination
of supportive fundraising activity across the internal teams.
Assist in the formulation of personalised stewardship plans and establish
effective systems to collate information about prospective and current
major donors, ensuring compliance with charity law, fundraising policies
and guidelines, GDPR and our organisational policies.
Work alongside the team and support appeal event activity, including
planning, communication and coordination of guests, attending events as
required.
Who you are
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Appeal Support Officer
who would relish the opportunity to work on a transformational appeal that will
help improve and save lives of people affected by cancer in our region.
Experience of charity work and fundraising would be an added advantage in this
role, but we need a confident individual who is not phased with bringing together
different elements of a campaign plan to achieve a defined result.
Playing a key, interim role in the appeal, you will be able to quickly absorb
information, suggest planning solutions and improve efficiencies, while
stewarding the appeal plan, monitoring risks and provide regular status
reporting.

As Digital Support Services Officer, you’ll help ensure that people affected by blood cancer can access reliable information and peer support through a range of digital platforms. You’ll lead the day-to-day running of our online community forum, support and coordinate volunteers, and work across teams to help develop and improve our support offer. Purpose
The Philanthropy Leads, reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, are responsible for inspiring new prospective, cultivating and stewarding high-value donors into greater involvement with Christians Against Poverty. They aim to draw supporters closer to the work we do, deepening their relationship and support of CAP. Income from CAP¿s major donors is vital for the future expansion of CAP in the UK.
Each Philanthropy Lead may be allocated one or more area of Philanthropy engagement in order to specialise in, but will be expected to support in any area as required. Such areas include:

Responsibilities
- Strategic Implementation & Fundraising
- Implementation of a strategic plan to significantly increase major donor income, with a target of 17.5% of overall revenue within 3 years.
- Implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for major donor income, aligned with CAP's overall strategic priorities.
- Execution of market research and competitor analysis to identify new funding opportunities and best practice in Philanthropic fundraising.
- Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, in order to identify points of engagement and draft appropriate funding bids.
- Represent CAP at high-level events and conferences to build relationships with potential donors and partners.
Major Donor Development
- Manage a designated caseload of high-net-worth individuals or trusts, cultivating deep and meaningful relationships.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings, personalised communications, and bespoke stewardship plans to cultivate and steward major donors.
- Develop compelling restricted funding projects to attract major donor investment.
- Implement a donor recognition program to acknowledge and celebrate major donor support.
Philanthropy Team Membership
- A member of the Philanthropy Team of our Mission and Movement Directorate.
- Providing peer support and development with other members of the Philanthropy Team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
- Work with the Head of Philanthropy to set ambitious targets and KPIs for the postholder, ensuring they are aligned with overall fundraising goals.
- Ensure the timely submission of funding applications and effective stewardship of grant and donor relationships.
- Implement robust systems and processes for donor relationship management, data analysis, and performance tracking.
Impact & Reporting
- Ensure that the CRM is updated with engagements, proposal submissions and engagement plans in a timely fashion.
- Develop compelling narratives and impact reports that effectively communicate the impact of major donor support.
- Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of fundraising efforts and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide regular updates on fundraising progress to the Head of Philanthropy.
Innovation & Best Practices
- Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in major donor fundraising.
- Implement innovative fundraising strategies, such as engaging new philanthropists, digital engagement, corporate engagement and high-impact events.
- Evaluate philanthropy activities with the rest of the team and the Fundraising Insight & Innovation team to develop a deeper understanding of supporters and identify new prospects, making data-informed decisions.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the Philanthropy Team.
- Create opportunities for supporters to engage at a senior level and deepen their relationship with CAP, working with the CEO and other senior staff.
Communications & Campaign Management:
- Plan philanthropy initiatives that in order to produce excellent bids, proposals, events, and reports, delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with the Brand and Digital Engagement teams to align messaging and campaigns.
- Ensure philanthropy plans align with brand guidelines and fundraising regulations.

- Implementation of an annual philanthropy plan that contributes to the wider long-term fundraising strategy.

- A proven fundraiser who can inspire, influence and deliver results

About the Role
Advice Giving
- Deliver a multi-channel advice service, including home visits, to clients regarding their energy needs and income maximisation support, ensuring advice provided meets the requirements of Citizens Advice quality standards.
- Ensure all case recording and other record keeping is completed within agreed timescales and conforms to the Office Manual and the Advice Quality Standards
- Use sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow clients to explain their problem(s) and to identify the next course of action.

This role is part of a brand-new service which is being delivered across Liverpool and will provide dedicated energy and welfare support to individuals who are vulnerable and in or at risk of fuel poverty.

We are looking for someone to provide strategic and operational leadership to Individual Giving. Someone who can work collaboratively across the organisation to lead and drive forward our ambition to increase our financial supporter-base and increase income.
You will act as the leading authority on matters relating to Individual Giving, providing advice across the organisation including to the Director of Income Generation, and cross-organisational Income Generation Activity Group.
You will enable the delivery of the transformation Individual Giving workstream. And have strategic ownership of the Individual Giving programme, including income-related activities and KPIs within the engagement calendar, and customer experience and journeys relating to financial supporters
You will lead on Individual Giving planning and budget setting, contributing to the overall business planning process for Income Generation.

Climate Catalyst is taking on a new project with the Clean Air Fund to apply our movement building and knowledge sharing expertise from Asia and Europe to an initiative designed to support cities and civil society organisations around the world to campaign for clean air.
About The Role
This role is about designing and implementing strategies, tools and platforms that support shared learning and collaboration among organisations working towards cleaner air. Working closely with the Head of Learning and Innovation, you will lead a global needs assessment across multiple cities, which will inform the development of a training programme for movement building leads at the city level, with pilots of that approach in two cities. You will develop a knowledge sharing approach, movement building infrastructure, and tools to support sustained engagement. You will also contribute to producing learning products and co-delivering capacity building activities. This role combines strategic thinking and analysis with hands-on project management and learning product development. It is ideal for someone with an interest in global movement building efforts.
What you will do
Conduct a needs assessment across 14 cities to understand the knowledge sharing and movement building needs of civil society organisations, including campaigners, think tanks, data science organisations, city officials, etc. working on air pollution around the world. (35%)

Survey, interview and focus group discussion design, delivery and analysis

Produce a report with an approach for knowledge sharing and movement building.
Pilot a movement building project in two cities (35%)

Co-design a movement building model in 2 pilot cities to foster a clean air movement. This will be a practical, replicable guide that defines the essential elements of a high-functioning, impactful CSO movement within a city.

Assess the cities’ civil society ecosystems’ gaps and leverage points and map the current landscape of civil society actors working on air quality in each of the 2 cities. This will include analysing their focus areas, strengths, gaps, levels of coordination, and alignment with local policy priorities.

Deliver facilitation support for 2 in-person and additional virtual civil society convenings.

Co-design a movement building training package, including a guide for future use with guidance on shared strategy, collaboration structures, mapping additional civil society organisations, and communication mechanisms.
Deliver a community of practice amongst a cluster of peer organisations to promote thematic and cross-regional knowledge sharing (20%)

What You Would Bring
