Hearing Dogs for Deaf People – Principal Gift Manager
Location: Options for role to be site-based (Buckinghamshire or East Yorkshire) or a hybrid contract with regular UK travel for donor meetings and team events.
Salary: £60,000 per annum.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, whose mission is to see a time when no deaf person feels alone, is seeking a Principal Gifts Manager responsible for identifying, cultivating and stewarding high-value donors to the charity giving £100,000 plus.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Following a strategic review, the charity is now looking to build a new Income Generation Directorate to enable it to transform many more lives across the UK. This role will be critical to help Hearing Dogs reach their goals to significantly grow and diversify income.

Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, the post-holder will work closely with senior leaders, trustees and senior stakeholders to solicit high-value gifts, typically of six and seven figures, and to build and deepen long-term relationships between donors and the charity. You will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of potential and current principal-level donors, as well as delivering exceptional stewardship journeys that demonstrate the impact and value of donor support.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in securing major gifts at the six-figure level or above, ideally in a principal or transformational giving context. You will be skilled at building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals, as well as being experienced at developing and delivering complex donor strategies and bespoke giving propositions. Finally, you must be a collaborative team player with strong project management and communication skills.

Casework is at the heart of everything Medical Justice does. We assist vulnerable people in immigration detention to access medical evidence. The evidence we produce forms the basis of our advocacy work to secure lasting change, including our research into the systemic failures in safeguarding and healthcare provision, the harm caused by these shortcomings, and the harmful effect of immigration detention itself on the health of those who are subjected to it.

As a Caseworker you will have your own caseload and be working directly with people in immigration detention, many of whom may be very unwell, traumatised and experiencing deterioration in their health. You will coordinate with our clinicians and, if clients have legal representation, their lawyers, to organise medical assessments. You will maintain communication with your clients throughout this process, acting as a key point of contact.

We are looking for an experienced caseworker, who can use their compassion and organisational skills to support clients in extremely vulnerable situations. We are looking for someone who has experience dealing with clients in crisis situations, who is resilient and able to manage complex, often traumatic, caseloads in a professional and empathetic way. You will play a key role in striving to ensure clients receive access to adequate healthcare and that they obtain high-quality independent medical evidence to progress their legal cases. As well as working as part of a small, dedicated team of caseworkers dealing with around 500 referrals a year.

Location: North London, the role is hybrid with 3 days based in the office each week following the successful completion of probation and training period.

Reports to: Head of Clinical Evidence & Casework

Salary: £33,000 per year

Contract:  Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

Medical Justice works to uphold the health and associated legal rights of people in immigration detention and provides medical evidence, so the devastating health harms of detention are understood and acted on. PLEASE NOTE:  

• The successful candidate will need to be based within a 30-minute commute of their allocated locality and there is a requirement to travel regularly across the wider area (travel expenses covered).  The successful candidate must possess a valid full UK driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance for work purposes.  

• There will also be a requirement for occasional travel to other UK locations for meetings and events depending on the charity’s needs such as our annual all colleagues in person event.   

• The successful candidate will work 35 hours per week over 5 days, Monday - Sunday. The role will involve the management of the day-to-day financial activities, VAT, gift aid, payroll and the monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations and statutory accounts preparation. The job holder will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Finance Officer and volunteers within the team. There will be a requirement to work closely with the income generating staff, budget holders, auditors, banks and credit card providers on a regular basis. The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the Finance Officer and Finance volunteer.

We are seeking a Digital Marketing Officer to join our Development and Communications directorate and contribute to the ICR’s digital marketing needs – in particular, to support fundraising across all digital touchpoints. About You

We are looking for someone with experience in writing engaging copy for email marketing, social media and paid advertising, and have good knowledge of email marketing and digital platforms including Mailchimp, Google Search Ads, Ad Grants and Meta. 

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key coordinating role within Carers Support West Sussex, supporting services that focus on specific caring roles, being mental health, dementia, learning disability, neurodiversity, and drug and alcohol.

Working closely with senior managers, you will bring leadership, structure and oversight to a varied and fast-paced role—coordinating multiple workstreams, supporting a team of Specialist Leads, and ensuring services are consistently high quality, well organised and responsive to what carers need.

A key part of the role is overseeing the delivery of grant-funded projects, ensuring they are effectively planned, coordinated and delivered to a high standard.

Your ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively will ensure that insight from carers and partners translates into meaningful, accessible support.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support a team of Specialist Leads to deliver high-quality carer services
• Oversee delivery across key areas (mental health, dementia, learning disability & neurodiversity, drug & alcohol)
• Lead coordination of grant-funded activities, ensuring delivery is on track and well organised
• Work with partner organisations (e.g. health, social care and VCSE) to progress joint activity and ensure actions are followed through.
• Support reporting and monitoring to demonstrate impact

The Bone Cancer Research Trust has invested close to £12 million in research funding since our inception in 2006, with commitment accelerating rapidly since our first dedicated strategy was launched in 2017. We offer a diverse portfolio of research grant funding, supporting research at all phases and researchers at all stages of their career. 

To maximise the impact of our work, we are now seeking an exceptional individual to provide administrative and coordination support across Research, Information, Support and Awareness. We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to hit the ground running as part of our busy charitable team. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the delivery of our charitable objectives and make a tangible impact on the lives of those affected by the disease. 

As an integral member of a cross-functional team, the post holder will support delivery across all charitable pillars and help ensure a joined-up approach to our work. 

A key part of the role will be to engage directly and build strong relationships with our research and clinical community, from sending welcome packs to supporting our yearly impact monitoring.

The role will also involve interacting with patients and those affected with primary bone cancer. This may be through sending information resources or support boxes or may include the planning and delivery of laboratory tours. 

Experience working in an administrative, process driven, or project delivery environment is essential. Knowledge and/or experience of medical charities would be beneficial but not essential. Working in health or research-related environments would be beneficial, but not essential.  The role will involve the use of the charity’s CRM database and Teamwork.  Experience in the use of these is beneficial; however full training will be given. Experience in organizing and delivering meetings and/or conferences would be beneficial. 

This exciting role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to learn about all aspects of a medical research charity, all whilst making a huge difference to people affected by primary bone cancer. 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Legal Casework

• Work closely with the Public Law Supervisor, Director of Legal Casework and Asylum Aid Executive Director to develop a public law caseload and drive change through strategic litigation;
• Provide legal advice and representation to clients on asylum and human rights claims, and on judicial review challenges pertaining to asylum and immigration matters and the treatment of asylum seekers and other migrants;
• Identify common problems and issues from the wider team’s caseload which are suitable for strategic challenges; 
• Contribute to internal strategy discussions
• Attend external meetings on behalf of AA and contribute to strategy discussions within the wider sector
• Where appropriate, apply for LAA Case Funding through the CCMS, obtain appropriate costs and scope extensions, and submit claims for payment;
• Ensure that legal aid and other income is maximised, and targets are achieved;
• Maintain client files and records in line with file management procedures;
• Provide technical supervision and training in judicial review procedure to other staff where necessary.

SELECTION PROCESS
