Dravet Syndrome UK (DSUK) is a small independent UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by Dravet Syndrome. Dravet Syndrome is a rare neurological condition that affects around one in every 15,000 people in the UK. As well as experiencing severe, difficult-to-control seizures, children and adults with Dravet Syndrome have varying degrees of intellectual disability and a spectrum of associated conditions (known as ‘comorbidities’), which may include autism, ADHD, behaviours that challenge and difficulties with speech, mobility, eating and sleep.

Brain Tumour Research is seeking an experienced and motivated fundraiser to join our team. As a key part of our fundraising efforts in our high-performing East region, you will have the opportunity to drive income generation through a variety of initiatives, including challenge events, fundraising groups, and corporate partnerships such as charity of the year. You will also be responsible for driving initiatives to increase our profile and supporter base within Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire and Essex.

Key Responsibilities: ​

• ​Generate income across a range of community fundraising initiatives and events, with the opportunity to lead on key projects 
• Steward supporters to help drive the charity’s fundraising activities and growth 
• ​Work with the fundraising team to develop and maintain strong relationships with fundraisers, donors, partners, and key stakeholders ​
• Contribute towards the growth and success of fundraising efforts, ensuring a sustainable income stream for the vital ongoing funding of brain tumour research ​

Requirements: ​​

• At least one year of fundraising experience, with a proven track record in income generation 
• Strong experience in supporter stewardship  
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire supporters and partners alike ​
• Passion for Brain Tumour Research and its mission to fund research and ultimately find a cure

As a key member of our small team, you’ll lead on developing and delivering our communications strategy—bringing our mission to life across social media, our website, and other platforms.

This part-time role blends strategic thinking with hands-on content creation and delivery. You’ll craft engaging, informative content that showcases our work and impact, reaching local communities, schools, funders, partners, and supporters.

You’ll also support outreach activities and events, helping build strong relationships and partnerships that further our mission to inspire people to connect with the wonder of urban wildlife.

This is a part time role (15 hours per week) and flexible working arrangements will be considered and discussed at interview. There may be some evening and weekend commitments for which TOIL is given.

Full Time Salary: £30,000 per annum, pro rata. Other benefits include 22 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays and a Christmas closure period, and 3% employer pension contribution.

About Women in Prison

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.

Job Purpose:

This role will be based in both HMP Bronzefield and in our community-based hubs in South London, delivering specialist housing support with women impacted by the criminal justice system in prison and the community.

Key responsibility areas

1. To deliver an effective accommodation intervention for women impacted by the criminal justice system.
2. To develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, such as housing departments, probation, prison, to ensure a collaborative approach to women’s accommodation needs.
3. To provide expert advice and support to colleagues, including upskilling through information and training sessions.
4. To work with colleagues to take a system change approach to tackling key issues, such as housing, for women affected by the criminal justice system.

As our Creative Copywriter, you’ll be joining a talented and friendly creative team who recently won In-House Agency of the Year at the Inside Out Awards.
