About the role
As a technical specialist focused on data & integration, you’ll collaborate with our digital, IT, and cross-functional teams, as well as external partners, to help design and implement robust data centric solutions.
The solutions you help to deliver will be fundamental to the success of the organisation and will involve using a mixture of SQL and C#. You’ll also document concepts, processes, and solutions to support long-term maintainability and knowledge sharing.
About you
You’ll enjoy problem solving and making use of creative ideas to deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations. You’re collaborative with a solid foundation in SQL and C# and are familiar with DevOps and service desk tools.
You’ll approach new challenges with a structured but creative approach. You’re a person that enjoys creating data centric solutions that are focused on delivering value by integrating internal and external systems.
Prior experience of working in the charity sector would be beneficial, but it isn’t needed to deliver in the role.

We’re recruiting an interim Head of Retention Marketing and Customer Journeys on a 12-month fixed term contract to lead a key transformation project.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the second-largest income stream at the BHF, from our existing donor base while delivering adoption of the Adobe marketing stack.
You’ll lead the adoption of Adobe Campaign and CDP in the Retention and Customer Journey Team, coaching the team on developing data led strategies to inspire support from our customers to power lifesaving research, taking them on a cross channel journey to drive greater engagement with our cause and working with our Digital Teams to bring these journeys to life.
Managing income across our loyal regular giving base, our new lottery player base as well as our cash donor, raffle (Give Help) and retail, volunteering, event participant bases (Achieve Goals), your objective will be to grow income from our existing customer groups using cross sell, upsell and engagement communications to improve lifetime value, taking a customer centric approach.
This role is also key to to ensuring that our customers know where they can get help from the BHF, be it access to health content, to learn CPR or contact our Heart Helpline (Get Help).
Leading a talented below-the-line marketing team across our Give Help, Get Help and Achieve Goals objectives, you’ll also work closely with colleagues in our above-the-line teams to take an integrated approach to key comms moments.
About you
You’re a strategic marketing leader with a proven track record in customer retention, journey optimisation, and multi-channel growth. You’ve led teams through transformation, embedded new platforms, and delivered measurable impact.
You bring expertise in CRM, product marketing, and customer data strategy, with a passion for customer-centric marketing that drives engagement and long-term value. Experience with Adobe is ideal, but we would also value experience in platforms like Klaviyo, Bloomreach, Intuit (Mailchimp), Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or HubSpot and an understanding of the capability they have to drive personalised marketing
You’ll also bring:
- Strong working knowledge of customer data, CRM, and product marketing, with experience developing retention and journey campaigns across email, SMS, direct mail, and data-led channels.
- Proven success as a people manager, with a track record of delivering change, building high-performing teams, and driving revenue growth.
- Ability to foster collaboration across teams and stakeholders, and experience managing external agencies through complex CRM and below-the-line marketing projects.
- Commercial and financial acumen, including budget modelling and P&L management.
- Experience working with data science teams to uncover customer insights and translate them into actionable strategies—paired with excellent storytelling and briefing skills to deliver impactful, optimised campaigns.
Working arrangements
This is 12-month fixed term contract covering family leave. Start date ideally in December 2025, although there can be some flexibility.
This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our London Office. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

The Communications Department at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) informs, inspires and engages our many audiences about dementia and the progress being made in research. The Corporate Communications Manager will be part of the Strategic Communications team – one of several specialist teams in the wider Department.
The Corporate Communications Manager will be responsible for ensuring consistent and compelling external communications to drive our brand, as well as establishing the charity’s position in key strategic areas and helping to drive value from our corporate partnerships.
They will ensure a clear internal narrative and key messaging for ARUK employees, as well as supporting external communications from the CEO Office. This will include guiding key thought leadership pieces from ARUK’s Senior Leadership Team and ambassadors, informing key stakeholder communications and protecting ARUK’s growing corporate reputation.
The postholder will oversee the charity’s Annual Report and Review and identify opportunities to raise the charity’s profile in key strategic areas of work. The postholder will manage the work of two Corporate Communications Officers.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Management
· Developing and delivering operational plans for the team, working closely with other departments across the charity including Corporate Fundraising and the CEO Office.
· Day-to-day responsibility for the budget of the team, including reforecasting.

Thought Leadership

Partnership Communications
· Managing the work of a team focused on supporting communications of and to our corporate fundraising partners, including:
- Supporting New Business teams on pitch and proposition development.

- Providing regular opportunities for Fundraising teams to learn and improve their communication skills, as well as providing consulting support on a range of relevant topics arising within those teams.
· Providing oversight and support for communications around current and future strategic partnerships for ARUK.
Key Messaging
· Responsible for developing and maintaining key messaging documents and guidelines for the Department and ensuring internal teams and external partners are using consistent messaging to underpin the charity’s brand.
Media Relations
· Coordinating pro-active PR planning, using media metrics to guide decisions and identify key areas of opportunity.
· Agreeing and tracking the use of media key messages.
· Taking an active role in promoting thought leadership pieces on key corporate or strategic issues for the charity.
What we are looking for:

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Job Purpose
The Public Affairs Lead sits within our Policy and Advocacy Team, working to build support for The Food Foundation’s work amongst Parliamentarians and to influence the government to help deliver policies that will transform the food system. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small organisation delivering big impact on the political agenda around food.
The Public Affairs Manager reports to our Head of Policy and Advocacy and will be responsible for planning and delivering our public affairs activity. You will spend considerable time meeting MPs and Peers in parliament and building relationships with their teams with a view to identifying potential new supporters and ensuring that The Food Foundation has a range of contacts that we can call on to support and amplify our policy asks and to raise issues when required.
While this role is focused on political engagement, you will work closely with policy and research colleagues and with our communications team to share perspectives on which priorities it may be tactical to pursue at any given time and to understand what evidence is available to inform engagement.
You will also work closely with public affairs professionals in other organisations to deliver joint programmes of engagement work which leverage respective organisational strengths.
You will have excellent political instincts and a strong interest in policy developments, monitoring closely what is going on in Parliament and in Government, and keeping abreast of the latest developments in order to identify opportune moments to maximise political attention on the issues we work on and to galvanise support for policy change.
You will work with our communications team to build compelling narratives targeted at different political stakeholders about the impacts of the food system on our diets, our health and our planet, and the need for evidence-based solutions. In the current parliamentary term we expect a major focus of activity to be on securing a White Paper and then A Bill on food system change.
You will lead on developing and commissioning a range of briefing materials and reports for policy audiences and formulate responses on behalf of the organisation to policy development processes and Parliamentary inquiries.
You will think creatively about methods and opportunities for engagement in order to ensure that The Food Foundation’s messages and priorities are noticed and heard by policy-makers in a very crowded policy space, including by working closely with our events manager to deliver impactful parliamentary events.
You will bring a learning mindset to the role, assessing the impact of our policy engagement approaches in order to make continuous improvements.
The role will be a fulfilling blend of planning engagement campaigns, developing the materials and monitoring tools to enable delivery, and the practical task of developing personal relationships with key stakeholders.
A week in the job will look like: meeting with a Peer that is new to our work to brief them on evidence we have published and our current political priorities, completing a political stakeholder mapping exercise for a new campaign on sustainable diets to identify a shortlist of MPs to engage with, spending an afternoon in parliament to engage informally with passing MPs, pitching a new idea for a parliamentary inquiry to parliamentary staff from the Health and Social Care Committee, drafting an MP briefing for an upcoming debate on the Government’s obesity prevention priorities, reviewing next week’s parliamentary calendar to spot opportunities for engagement, attending a roundtable to share intelligence and discuss priorities for political party manifestos with other NGOs working on food issues, ringing round parliamentary offices to confirm attendance for an upcoming parliamentary reception, meeting with an MP that is closely involved with The Food Foundation’s work to refine messaging for an upcoming campaign.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Working to specific income targets, the Supporter Engagement Manager is responsible for acquisition campaigns including regular giving, direct mail appeals, online fundraising, legacies; retention campaigns including ongoing stewardship to increase supporter engagement. You will grow relationships with supporters and work closely with wider fundraising team to devise and execute creative and effective stewardship journeys. You will have a sound understanding of fundraising membership schemes and sector regulations, with knowledge of best practice CRM and/or fundraising database.
The Supporter Engagement Manager will work with the Senior Head of Supporter Engagement to develop the strategy for increasing income across all individual giving streams and then work with the Marketing and Communications Manager and the wider team to implement it. You will play an instrumental part in creatively engaging supporters to get involved in our high-value campaigns, events and regular giving programme. This includes our annual matched-funding campaign and reoccurring giving programmes, which last year raised £1m and £150k respectively. The post-holder will be key in taking the Individual Giving programme to the next level, providing proactive engagement opportunities and efficiently work with data to provide timely, targeted, relevant and engaging communications to our various supporters.

About the role
This role is responsible for leading the relationship fundraising programme in the north, midlands and Scotland. You’ll help to develop and implement strategies to engage new audiences and foster high lifetime value relationships, as well as surprise and delight loyal supporters.
Uniquely, you’ll help to implement a large-scale pilot to enhance the charity’s presence in key local areas to grow long term sustainable income. New roles in your team will develop portfolios of supporters as well as further grow Tickled Pink, an award-winning partnership between Asda, Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel! which has raised over £100m, by directly supporting colleagues across Asda stores.

Primary location of role and hybrid working
The role can be based in our Sheffield or Glasgow offices, or remotely if based in another area in the midlands, north of England or Scotland.
