Brief role description

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery of our website, email marketing, and digital assets. They will play a key role in user engagement, service promotion, and data-driven decision-making. They will manage and optimise our WordPress website and DotDigital email platform, ensuring all content aligns with brand and accessibility standards. The role will contribute to creative content development and campaign ideation, as well as tracking and reporting performance across channels to support the marketing manager with data-driven recommendations. This is a fixed term position for just about 2 years (end date to be confirmed at the offer stage)

Hours: 0.4 or 0.6FTE (14/21 hours per week respectively)

Location: Hybrid. Staff work remotely and from the Medact office in East London. London-based staff work in-person as a team one day per week, and staff based outside London come in at least once a month, with support for travel costs. Applications from outside London are encouraged.

About the role

Medact is hiring for the new role of Fundraising Manager: Trusts & Grants to secure grant funds for the organisation over a critical one-year period. The new Fundraising Manager will be responsible for completing applications already in the pipeline, and then setting out a plan to apply for as many successful grants as possible in the period and delivering it.

The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team and our programme staff, to identify, develop and write grant proposals to relevant funders, for both restricted and unrestricted income streams. 

About you

This is a skilled role but you don’t need to have had a job in an NGO before or be a professional campaigner to be right for it. You might have successfully fundraised for a local community organisation or a grassroots campaign on a social justice or health issue that you care about. 

You’ll have strong skills in developing and writing applications, with a strong understanding of the funding landscape and potential relevant grantmakers. You need to be a great communicator, able to translate the work of an organisation into language tailored for different funding bodies. You’ll also be a strong team player, able to work with relevant staff members to develop winning applications that fit properly within our existing strategy and areas of work.

As Partnership Marketing Manager you will work closely with colleagues to plan and deliver the partnership marketing strategy, working to onboard and manage partners through whom potential and new smart meter adopters across both domestic and non-domestic campaigns will be reached.

This crucial work helps change us to the inter-generational narrative about numeracy in the UK. Maths is not just something you ‘have to do at school’, but is a valuable skill that helps us get on at work, and manage our time and our money. Key Responsibilities

• Steward existing donors and develop new donor relationships, working through the pipeline from cultivation to successful asks
• Identify new opportunities within the major donor portfolios
• Plan and coordinate fundraising campaigns, events, and engagement activities.
• Collaborate with teams across high value and wider fundraising teams to ensure donor stewardship and recognition.

Person Specification

• Proven experience working with major donors, this could be at officer/executive level and a step into a manager role or someone already in a manager role
• Full understanding and experience to work through the full donor relationship process with known donors and new prospects
• Having experience of successful 5 figure gifts is desirable, but candidates will be considered with 4 figures, looking for a bigger challenge
• Experience of working with giving circles is of interest but not essential
• Ability to work with agility in a collaborative and unique charity environment
• A proactive and adaptable approach with ambition to grow income from major donors, able to see opportunities for growth.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Research & Operations Manager to work as part of our Fundraising Team.

As a newly established programme, Philanthropy demonstrates exciting potential for both Rethink and MHUK, with initiatives spanning major donor and mid-value engagement. Corporate Partnerships have launched several exciting partnerships across both charities and that portfolio and team continue to grow.

How you will make a difference

We are looking for a Research and Operations Manager to join our passionate fundraising team. You will play a pivotal role in driving high-value fundraising outcomes across Rethink Mental Illness and Mental Health UK by delivering a strategic, insight-led approach to prospect research and portfolio management.

Managing the Senior Philanthropy and Research Officer you will oversee the identification, qualification and prioritisation of prospects across Philanthropy, Trusts & Grants and Corporate Partnerships. You will lead on due diligence processes, prospect pipeline management, connection mapping and the development of systems and tools that enable data-driven decision-making. Working closely with senior fundraisers and the Interim Head of Trusts and Philanthropy, you will ensure teams have the intelligence and insights needed to build strong, meaningful donor relationships.

About the Role

This exciting Fundraising and Engagement Manager role will work with The Income Generation Manager, The Fundraising and Communications Team and the Senior Leadership teams to ensure that the delivery of Mind BLMK’s current and future offer of fundraising and engagement are effectively planned, developed, and implemented. As the Fundraising and Engagement Manager you will be responsible for supporting the growth of unrestricted income across individual and major donor as well as managing our corporate, and community fundraising.

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of fundraising and engagement activities incorporating culture for sustainability and growth for the organisation. You will create and deliver inspiring campaigns, optimise donor journeys, and ensure excellent supporter stewardship. The role includes responsibility for team leadership, with a focus on generating new income streams and maintaining compliance. You will have strong communication and data skills in helping drive the charity’s positive impact for Mind BLMK’s businesses and communities.

As the Fundraising and Engagement Manager you will support, develop and direct colleagues within the fundraising and engagement team leading on a range of activities and ensure that fundraising ideas and events are high profile and will generate funds. You will be able to reach fundraising targets and have a proven track record of tools used in fundraising such as Just Giving, legacy, Charity of the Year, media campaign and fundraising, face to face, corporate and strategic fundraising experience is also needed.

You will be proactive, work well on own and in team and have experience in delivering presentations and key messages to a range of audiences.

In addition to a passion for Supporter Experience, some of the essential skills and experience we’re looking for are:

• Significant experience in a supporter experience role or delivering journey strategy.
• A track record creating and delivering multichannel communications.
• Strong data and analytical skills to refine approaches and measure success.
• Excellent collaboration, influencing, and project management abilities.

Experience with CRM systems, matrix management, KPI measurement or leading change initiatives is desirable, but most importantly, you’ll have a supporter-first mindset and the drive to inspire meaningful connections.
