Job description

Global Justice Now is a democratic social justice organisation working, as part of a global movement, to challenge the powerful and create a more just and equal world. We mobilise people in the UK for change, and act in solidarity with those fighting injustice, particularly those in the global south.

We are looking for someone with substantial experience of developing policy and running campaigns to join our team.

The policy and campaigns manager is a wide-ranging role. You will be responsible for developing policy positions and campaign planning, undertaking and overseeing research and maintaining relations with allies both here and overseas. You will be expected to undertake media interviews, write comment pieces, talk to journalists and local groups and activists.

From the outset you will expected to be the organisation’s lead expert on corporate power and accountability, with a current focus on transnational pharmaceutical corporations and related issues, but you will also have a broad range of policy skills and experience, and have some familiarity with Global Justice Now’s broader goals and areas of interest, able to work on other areas of Global Justice Now’s work..

If this sounds right for you, we’d really like to hear from you.

We welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnicity, but as members of ethnic minority groups are currently under-represented we would like to encourage applications from black and ethnic minority candidates. Appointment will be based on merit alone.

This post is available for full or part-time working (at least four days / 28 hours a week) based in London or Edinburgh. We offer 26 days holiday a year (pro-rata for part-time) and flexible working.

The full job description and person specification, application and recruitment monitoring forms can be downloaded from our website. No agencies please – only personal applications will be considered.
