We’re looking for two new people to join the board of Refugee Women Connect: a Fundraising Trustee and Campaigning Trustee. These are volunteer roles governing our small UK charity. We’re seeking a range of campaigning, advocacy and fundraising skills and experience and to broaden our diversity.
Fundraising Trustee / Campaigning Trustee
Location: Remote – our meetings take place online five time per year
Salary: Non-salaried, Voluntary position. Reasonable out of pocket expenses may be claimed on submission of appropriate documentation.
Hours commitment: Five meetings per year, plus some preparation work for meetings

Your role
We are seeking an experienced Fundraiser to oversee the fundraising affairs of the charity, ensuring they are conducted with within the fundraising rules and regulations. Expertise within community and corporate fundraising is required.
We are also looking for a Trustee with a background in campaigns and advocacy strategy.
Candidates for both roles must show a commitment to women asylum seekers and refugees and align with our organisation’s values. Candidates must also have experience at management level.
In addition, as charity trustees your role will be to work with other board members to set the strategic direction for the charity and oversee the effective running of the organisation.
We are a women only organisation. We are especially keen to hear from those with lived experience of migration into the UK.

Who we are
Create The Future is a UK-based and youth-led creative climate project that seeks to create a vision of a better future to empower action and inspire optimism through storytelling, education and imagination activities. Our work is based on the research of leading environmental communications agencies such as Climate Outreach and the Common Cause Foundation.
We run free activities and workshops for children, young people and adults, ranging from creative writing workshops, poetry prompts and school activities. Our flagship 'postcards from the future' activity, an imaginative art and writing exercise for children aged 5-12, helps to combat eco anxiety by helping young people to imagine the future they want to see and send a postcard back to parents, teachers and community members.

The role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative individual with strong communication and organisational skills as well as experience working in education and/or events to join our Projects & Partnerships team as a Volunteer Campaigner.
Our Projects Team is essential to developing new projects, events, campaigns, activities and collaborations to be able to communicate our message of climate hope and action. You will work closely with volunteers from all three Create The Future teams, attending close-knit meetings with your team-mates as well as getting to know colleagues from other teams. You will be responsible for a wide range of activities, including:
- planning campaign strategies to scale up the impact of our work
- organising events, including in-person, virtual or hybrid events
- coming up with new event/workshop/activity ideas
- creating resources for education activities, events and workshops
- development of a future schedule of work to tie in with world events and our objectives
- reaching out to schools, community groups, charities and other potential partners
- working with other organisations on collaborative projects and events
- running/promoting our postcard competition with schools, companies and community groups
As part of a brand new restructured team of volunteers, you will also have the opportunity to feed into our new Forward Plan for new projects over the next 12 months, giving you experience of strategy development and working within a voluntary organisation governance structure.

Communications role

Social Media Lead key tasks and activities
- Promote Humanist Climate Action across all our social media platforms
- Promote the campaigns and stories relevant to Humanist Climate Action
- Set and manage the tone and content of our social media
- Liaise with the Humanist Climate Action Steering Committee on regular postings to social media
- Other tasks as appropriate to the role

We are looking for someone with a passion for environmental and countryside issues to join us in a leadership role as Hon Secretary, supporting the Chair and Treasurer to develop all aspects of the charity, including governance, campaigning, marketing and promotion.
CPRE Norfolk, the countryside charity, works to make Norfolk a better place for everyone to live, work and enjoy. We act locally and, with our head office nationally, to protect, shape and enhance a beautiful, thriving countryside for everyone to value and enjoy. We are an independent voice for the landscape, engaging with local and regional planning systems to ensure that our views are heard by decision makers. We campaign locally for positive solutions that will support the long-term future of Norfolk – one of England’s most rural areas.
By volunteering with CPRE Norfolk you'll be helping us to find positive solutions for the issues facing the countryside and the environment in our beautiful county.
The Secretary role involves being an active committee member by attending meetings and contributing ideas to develop and implement our Vision for Norfolk strategic plan; circulating meeting papers; supporting the effective administration of our charity; contributing to investment decisions; ensuring compliance with the charity's constitution and charity law; being a positive advocate for CPRE Norfolk and encouraging others to support our work.
You will have good leadership, management and organisational and interpersonal skills, and previous experience of working with committees plus commitment to CPRE policies.
We envisage that you will have at least 4 hours per month to spend developing this role which can largely be done from home.

Who we are
CPRE Leicestershire is a long-standing and well-regarded environmental charity dedicated to protecting, promoting and enhancing the Leicestershire countryside for everyone’s benefit.
The role
In this role you will be:
- Providing strategic leadership to our charity and supporting fundraising,membership and engagement initiatives
- Ensuring our charity meets constitutional and governance requirements
- Ensuring the financial integrity and long-term sustainability of our charity
- Ensuring board meetings and our AGM are held on a regular basis
- Building relationships and representing CPRE at community, council and partnership meetings
- Liaising with local CPREs, regional groups and national CPRE
- Supporting trustees and volunteers and identifying candidates for succession
- Safeguarding the good name and values of our charity
- Providing or arranging line management of any employees
- Advocating the work of CPRE through public speaking and media interviews
- Chairs also represent our charity by being the voting member at national CPRE
Ideally you will have the following skills:
- A commitment to CPRE policies, brand, campaigns and initiatives
- Some previous experience in leadership, management and organisational development
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate diplomacy,impartiality, respect and confidentiality
- Previous experience of committee work- paid or voluntary
- Knowledge of environmental and countryside issues
- Knowledge of the charity sector including funding and governance
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience of working with people from different backgrounds and abilities
- Be able to commit to volunteering regularly to suit your availability,including attendance at meetings
