Campaigner Jobs in Islington, Greater London
Key Details
Salary: £62,100 per annum with generous benefits including 25 days annual holiday plus public holidays, enhanced pension contribution, private medical health insurance, life assurance and flexible/hybrid working.
Hours: 35 per week over 5 days.
Contract type: This is a full time permanent role. The role is advertised as “full-time”.
Location: Hybrid working with office in central London and options for flexibility to work from home. The postholder will be expected to attend our central London office regularly - minimum of 2/3 days a week.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Campaigns with a dotted line to the Chief of Staff ensuring effective communications with the Executive Director’s team. This role will lead, grow and maintain Good Law Project’s relationships with a wide network of political stakeholders to support the organisation to develop its political impact and reach.
What we're looking for
- Significant experience of working in the public/government affairs environment, either through government, a political party or within a public affairs role.
- Experience of working with a range of senior stakeholders and working on high profile/politically sensitive and complex issues and campaigns.
- Experience of writing short, sharp briefs for internal (to brief internally) or external (to influence on Good Law Project priorities/issues) audiences.
- Track record of delivering real world change and measurable evidence in positively influencing change in UK Government and/or and the political landscape.
What We Do
-
Good Law Project is a not-for-profit campaign organisation which uses the law to hold power to account, protect the environment and ensure no one is left behind.
-
We had a primary role in overturning the prorogation of Parliament in 2019. We successfully challenged the Government’s operation of a fast track ‘VIP lane’ for awarding lucrative PPE contracts to those with political connections and our campaigning played a key role in the Met Police opening an investigation into Boris Johnson over the Partygate scandal. In July 2023, we forced the Government to accept that its flagship Net Zero strategy is unlawful and to develop a better plan.
-
Our close-knit team of staff work across three core areas: campaigning, legal and operations. We are nimble and reactive to external events which means Good Law Project suits people who thrive in a fast-paced, at times quite pressured environment. You must share our passion for upholding democracy, protecting the environment and ensuring no one is left behind. Our culture is one of openness and innovation which encourages all staff to pitch ideas and influence the organisation’s direction. We are brave, honest and decisive – those are Good Law Project’s values. We recognise the value of our employees, individually and collectively, and are committed to investing in their welfare and development.
-
In August 2022 we established an independent SRA-regulated law firm in London, Good Law Practice, to support and develop our work.
-

CEASE (the Centre to End All Sexual Exploitation) is a national human rights charity. Our mission is to expose and dismantle the cultural and commercial forces driving all forms of sexual exploitation in the UK. Sexual exploitation does not occur in a vacuum, and only by addressing the wider context can we hope for real, lasting change.
As a charity, we join the dots between our hypersexualised, objectifying, pornified culture and public attitudes and behaviours towards sex:
• We demonstrate how the mass consumption of online pornography depicting the humiliation, violation and degradation of women and children has realworld consequences.
• We shine a light on the widespread exploitation and harm caused by commercial sex industries that undermine our human rights.
We are neither a religious nor an ideologically driven charity but seek to bring together a broad alliance of groups from many backgrounds around a common stance. CEASE’s work is based on peer reviewed research and survivors’ accounts; it takes the form of advocacy, awareness-raising campaigns, events, lobbying and other strategic actions.
CEASE is looking for an experienced policy officer with a passion for ending all forms of sexual exploitation. Reporting to the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, the role will entail political advocacy, relationship building across stakeholders, including Parliament and research and policy analysis.
We welcome applications from people who have experience of policy, public affairs and advocacy, and who believe in a world free from sexual exploitation.
Apply via vacancies page on the CEASE website.

We are seeking excellent secretarial skills to assist the Head of Fundraising with essential governance paperwork, and a keen aptitude for database interrogation, as well as leading with the day to day administration for the charity team. The role will also allow your creativity to shine through, as we expect everyone in the team to work together on creating events and campaigns.
The postholder will be confident to line manage other team members, and highlight charity activity to the executive board via written committee papers, and face to face/Teams meetings.
We are searching for an effective communicator able to converse at all levels across the organisation, and confident to attend both internal and community meetings to encourage charitable giving.

About the team
The ITF Communications Team works decisively to elevate global issues and drive collective action to improve the rights of all transport workers.
The Communications Department is pivotal for leading strategic thinking around communications across the ITF’s industrial sections, our regions and key areas of focus including women and young transport workers, through to sustainability, health and safety, future of work and supply chain accountability.
You’ll join an expanding team committed to discovering, testing and pushing the envelope for worker- and people-driven change ― working to advance the ITF’s current strategic directions:
· To grow and activate our membership.
· To position the ITF at the forefront of innovative campaigning.

About the role

The role will also play a crucial role in ensuring that section’s industrial priorities and issues are reflected and integrated in organisation-wide communications priorities and areas of focus.
Fundamental to this role will be an ability to develop expert knowledge and keep on top of policy and industrial issues facing aviation, railway, road transport, tourism and public transport workers, and effectively interpret and analyse the complex issues and challenges into communications strategies that advance workers’ rights.
You will be part of delivering solidarity and support to local, national and global disputes, building communications that reinforce the critical role transport workers in the land and air industries play, developing strategies to support union-led policies on everything from health and safety to sustainability, and raising the volume on the global struggle to advance the rights and equalities of the world’s transport workers.
