Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.

Job Purpose:

Women in Prison’s Project Workers deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending. The primary purpose of this role is to provide in-depth, ongoing support to a caseload of women in the community of Greater Manchester.

Key Responsibility Areas:

1. Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive support to women in contact with, or at risk of contact with the criminal justice system.
2. Monitor case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording, aligning with contract KPIs and WIP policies.
3. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with statutory and voluntary sector services to ensure coordinated, multi-agency support for women.
4. Contribute to organisational development and personal growth through innovation, self-care, and professional learning.

About The Role
We are recruiting for a Regional Legacy Giving Manager on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week. This is a fixed-term maternity cover contract lasting for 12 months.

- Direct line management of regionally based Legacy Giving Officers (LGOs) and Legacy Partnership Officers (LPOs) and leading them in co-ordinating the delivery of legacy events and stewardship activities, alongside developing our Will offers and engagement with legal firms.
- Meeting agreed annual targets for both legacy gifts and Will offer metrics across five regions.
- Developing and delivering the stewardship plan ensuring ongoing engagement with supporters who are interested in leaving a charitable gift in their will by upgrading and converting through the legacy cycle: enquirer, considerer, intender, pledger.
- Providing statistical and narrative reports on Team South’s legacy activity each month and as otherwise required.
- Delivering appropriate legacy fundraising awareness training to staff where this upskilling will lead to supporter referrals for the legacy pipeline.

The Legacy Development Manager will take a leading role in delivering and expanding the charity's established legacy fundraising programme at a pivotal time of growth and transformation. With responsibility for developing and implementing the charity's legacy marketing strategy, the postholder will lead multi-channel campaigns, steward legacy enquirers and pledgers, and manage the charity's free will programmes. This role will also line-manage the Legacy Development Officer and coordinate closely with colleagues across fundraising, communications, and finance to ensure effective promotion and administration of legacy giving. 

The successful candidate will bring specialist knowledge of legacy marketing processes and demonstrable experience of developing and growing legacy fundraising activity. You will have strong organisational and project management skills, excellent written and oral communication abilities, and confidence in building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, from supporters to solicitors. Experience of soliciting and managing high-value gifts or legacies, budget management, and working within a charity or membership organisation will be essential.

About the Role 

We are seeking a strategic and community-focused programme manager to lead the delivery of the Nature Based Neighbourhoods (NBN) grant programme – a five-year partnership between Lund Trust and the Wates Family Enterprise Trust (WFET). 

The NBN programme supports urban communities to create greener, more connected neighbourhoods. It provides core funding, peer networking, and long-term planning support to community organisations working to improve access to nature. 

You will oversee all aspects of programme delivery, including grant management, stakeholder engagement, impact reporting, and communications. This is a unique opportunity to shape a long-term initiative that builds community power and drives nature-based change. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead programme planning, delivery and annual review cycles, ensuring it is delivered on time and to budget in a way that works towards its overall vision and aims.  

• Manage relationships with funded community partners ensuring they are well supported to deliver against their grant ambitions. 

• Foster cross-sector relationships in community

• Oversee grant administration and budget management 

• Work with the programme’s learning and impact partners to facilitate peer learning, evaluation and storytelling to share impact 

• Convene programme boards, partner meetings, providing key stakeholders with timely updates 

• Collaborate with internal teams to amplify programme visibility and creatively share learnings, supporting local and national movement building.  

Person Specification 

Essential: 

• Experience managing multi-year, large-budget projects, preferably in the third sector 

• Strategic thinker with a track record of driving change 

• Strong community engagement and facilitation skills 

• Skilled in impact evaluation and reporting 

• Passionate about climate action, social justice, nature and community-led approaches 

• Willingness to travel regularly 

Desirable: 

• Experience in grant-making

• Expertise in urban green infrastructure or climate transition 

• Ability to raise public profile of initiatives 

• Experience in cross sector collaboration

About the Programme
 
Connection to nature can have powerful social, health, economic and environmental benefits. These benefits are not shared equally. Our most deprived communities also have the least access to nature where they live. Communities are working to tackle this problem, but their efforts are often stifled by a lack of investment.  

The NBN programme aims to strengthen community organisations, providing the financial and non-financial resources they need to create greener neighbourhoods and communities more connected to nature. 

This work will take place in a small number of places and explore how sustained commitment, engagement and investment can transform outcomes for a place, people and nature.  

Specifically, this funding partnerships will:  

• Provide direct support in the form of core funding to selected urban community organisations that share our aims.   

• Provide communities with the means to connect with the great work already happening around the county and develop peer network.  

• Enable communities to co-develop equitable long-term plans to increase nature connection locally.  

• Support community-led story telling of this work, its challenges and successes.

The Development and Advocacy Department are looking to appoint an interim Development Assistant on a part-time basis. This role will provide general administrative support to the Fundraising Appeals and Membership teams; including but not limited to supporting the Membership phone lines for incoming membership and ticketing queries, manage the fundraising inbox for incoming donation messages, assisting with ticket allocations for Patron members during their priority booking period and writing meaningful thank you letters to donors to appeals.

The ideal candidate will have strong verbal communication skills and a helpful manner, with an enthusiasm for and the ability to communicate fluently about the artistic work of the RBO. They will be a team player, who can quickly build relationships with colleagues and guests. You will have:

• Strong written communication skills across email, digital and print channels
• Excellent face-to-face and telephone communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with donors, members, and stakeholders
• Experience working with databases, including accurate data entry and extracting data for mail merges and reports
• A commitment to delivering a first-rate experience to supporters (transferable customer service experience will be highly regarded)
• The ability and interest to gain an understanding of UK fundraising landscape, fundraising methods and processes
• Experience of processing Direct Debits (desirable)

As a Community Fundraising Manager – North, you will be responsible for:

• Managing a small team of regional fundraisers
• Building networks with community leaders, clergy, schools, and donor groups
• Developing and implementing outreach and fundraising strategies in line with wider organisational goals
• Supporting and recruiting volunteers and public speakers (Community Appealers)
• Contributing to national campaigns, events and conferences
• Driving digital engagement through collaboration with a national social media team

You will be the key liaison between local communities and the national office, ensuring consistent communication, support, and innovation in regional engagement.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and support Community Fundraisers in the region to achieve strategic goals
• Strengthen relationships with existing donors, high-value supporters, and volunteers
• Coordinate speaking engagements and event presence at parish, school, and community levels
• Represent the organisation at large scale national events and conferences
• Deliver quarterly performance and financial reports
• Collaborate closely with internal teams in communications, events, fundraising, and support services

Essential skills and experience:

• Background in community engagement or fundraising
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills
• Excellent relationship building and leadership abilities
• Organised and self motivated with a strategic mindset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Willingness to travel regionally with occasional overnight stays

Desirable:

• Experience using CRM databases (e.g. Raiser’s Edge)
• Understanding of Catholic diocesan structures
• Experience working in the charity sector

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Location: Remote, You must be based in North England with regular travel across the region
