As a Fundraising Trustee, you'll play a key role in shaping and supporting Let's Play Project's fundraising vision and strategy. Working with the charity manager and fellow trustees you'll help us build sustainable income streams to support our mission.

f you have experience in fundraising, marketing, running a business or non-profit organisation, strategic thinking and understanding of income growth and sustainability as well willingness to use your skills, time and networks to make an impact for our pretty incredible team and service, you will be able to add plenty of value.

Main duties and responsibilities 

• Provide Strategic input on fundraising plans and campaigns

Participate in quarterly meetings and annual strategy day, to help set Let’s Play’s strategic direction, goals, and targets, particularly in relation reaching a very challenging fundraising target to ensure the sustainability of our organisation.

What will you do?

• Explore different ways of fundraising to help the local Citizens Advice obtain money, either for specific things, or for ongoing running costs of the local Citizens Advice

• Help organise fundraising events to raise money from the local community and encourage volunteers and staff to get involved

• Create materials, such as newsletters or presentations, which can be used to raise the profile of the local Citizens Advice and for raising money

• Explore other ways of fundraising, including identifying new sources of funding from organisations

• Help to build relationships with local organisations or businesses

• Help staff put together some information to send to potential funders and to complete applications for funding bids

Crossness Pumping Station (overseen by the Crossness Engines Trust) is a unique and valuable museum of UK and world reknown telling the history of how the ambitious management of sewage transformed London as a city of growth and innovation in the 1860s and helped eradicate cholera. Preserved and restored by a group of enthusiasts since 1987, we are now entering a second phase of major restoration and we need visionary trustees who can help us achieve it.

This role is one of three we have created for experts in their field to help us implement a major programme over the next 5-10 years. It really is your chance to be part of our history!

Role Objectives

• Acting as lead expert on the Board in relation to fundraising (eg grant funding, legacy funding, onsite donations, but not commercial trading/visitor charges).
• Advising on good practice and regulatory and policy issues in charity fundraising.
• Identifying future fundraising prospects and working with volunteers to achieve these.

Responsibilities

• Work with a volunteer lead/team on identifying future funding sources from grant-making bodies.
• Develop a fundraising strategy with volunteers.
• Develop corporate fundraising targets with other trustees.
• Investigate legacy fundraising and other visitor/member/donor opportunities.

Candidate requirements

 Essential

• Proven success in heritage or similar charity fundraising.
• Good knowledge of the standards required by the Institute of Fundraising.
• Ability to develop fundraising skills in volunteers.
• Good knowledge of relevant stakeholders in the fundraising community.
• Excellent communication skills including with staff and volunteers as well as fellow trustees.
• An understanding of the importance of collaboration and problem-solving.
• Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office 365.
• Commitment to attend board meetings regularly and volunteer for other sub-committees as appropriate.
• Able to devote around 2-3 hours per week on preparing for meetings.
• Treating colleagues with respect and politeness.

Desirable

• Experience in the charity sector.
• Experience as a volunteer in a similar organisation.
• Experience in Digital, Marketing and Finance would also be useful.

EIA UK is seeking a motivated volunteer to support our Fundraising team as we expand our mass participation events programme. The volunteer will ideally work 1 day a week and for a period of 3 months.

A key focus of the Fundraising team is to raise unrestricted income for EIA, so that the funds raised can be spent wherever the need is greatest. We are now scaling up our involvement in mass participation events to increase brand awareness, attract new supporters, and grow our unrestricted fundraising income and we need your help to do this!

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you’ll play a key role in helping us grow our events programme and engage new supporters. You’ll:

• Support the planning and logistics of multiple mass participation events such as Swim Serpentine and the London Marathon
• Steward our fundraisers across all events

Responsibilities of the Job position

• To be responsible for crowdfunding for the charity.
• To be collaborate with trustees and fellow fundraising and marketing members on fundraising projects and neurodiversity awareness street clinics.
• To co-deliver neurodiversity awareness “street clinics” in London Universities informing attendees about neurodiversity in Higher Education and signposting to relevant sources and sectors whilst also obtaining donations to the charity.
• To co-write and submit a funding application for a grant to the charity.
• To contribute to the continuous development of the charity’s existing fundraising strategy.
• To partake in continuous professional development opportunities in both neurodiversity knowledge and marketing skills development.

Key responsibilities & objectives of the job:

· To work with the organisation on a remote flexi-time monthly basis to complete tasks (with assistance from our Head of Fundraising & Neurodiversity Awareness Street Clinics with task delegation and organising) which could include the following:

(i) Training: Attend remote training events on Neurodiversity and/or Marketing during January, March, April, May, June, and September

(ii) Fundraising Work Planning Meeting: Online meet with fellow Fundraising Interns, Deputy Head of Fundraising and Head of Fundraising and Neurodiversity Awareness Street Clinics to plan for either Neurodiversity Awareness Street Clinics or Crowdfunding opportunities during February, March, September and October

(iii) Shadowing: Attend remotely the Graduation Day of the Post-16 Neurodiveristy Youth Advocate programme to appreciate the work of the charity in February

(iv) Street Clinic: Co-deliver a 1-hour-30-minute Neurodiversity Awareness Street Clinic in a London University informing attenders of neurodiversity in higher education and sign-posting to appropriate sources and sectors. This event is also a fundraising event to generate extra funds to the charity. Street clinics will be run March, October and November

(v) Marketing Team Liaison: Have an online meeting with one of the Marketing Interns to give key highlights and photos from the Street Clinic in March

(vi) Crowdfunding Month: Reach out to friends, family, and/or work colleagues to encourage donations to the charity in April

(vii) Fundraising Strategy Review Meeting: Work with our Head of Fundraising and Street Clinics to review our yearly fundraising events & Crowdfunding Strategy Plan in May.

Volunteering is and always will be at the heart of Cats Protection. It is joyful and inclusive. As a charity, working in partnership, together we transform the lives of cats, people and communities.

The difference you will make to cats and people

As a charity we are able to help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive from members of the public. Our fundraising volunteers use their passion for cats and people to raise the vital funds needed to help more cats and kittens in need. As a fundraising volunteer we want to support you to fundraise in whatever way suits you best, whether that’s organising a fundraising event, fundraising online, promoting fundraising activities on social media, completing administration or supporting the development of new fundraising ideas! Whatever your skill set, this could be the role for you!
