The Charity team is responsible for raising millions of pounds each year to ensure Christie patients receive the very best care and treatment. Head of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition

We are seeking an outstanding Senior Policy Manager to become Head of our small staff team which drives the growth and influence of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition. This is an exciting opportunity to influence positive change at a time of significant policy and political developments.

As Head of the Coalition, you will lead its public affairs and influencing activity. You will campaign to influence government policy and the legislative agenda on children and young people’s mental health, build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, and ensure the Coalition’s voice is heard across Westminster, Whitehall and in the media.

With over 370 members nationwide, the Coalition has significant potential to expand its impact. Many members already influence locally through NHS Integrated Care Boards, councils and MPs, but need support and coordination to amplify their voices. You will help them do so.

We are looking for someone with substantial experience in public affairs and policy influencing, a deep understanding of political systems and processes, and well-established networks. Most importantly, you will bring passion and commitment to improving the mental health of babies, children and young people.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Coalition, which is hosted by Centre for Mental Health, delivering its objectives and vision.

How you will make a difference

This is a strategic, delivery-focused role designed to lead Rethink Mental Illness’s work on the national Mental Health Services Dataset (MHSDS). The postholder will manage a pioneering project to design and implement data flows from Rethink alliances – including Open Mental Health in Somerset and Synergy in Sheffield – into the MHSDS. Our alliance model is aligned with the government’s neighbourhood health agenda – enabling the NHS to work in a fully integrated way with a range of community based and grassroots organisations. Ensuring that data flows from these organisations is critical.

The role will build a robust data model, work directly with voluntary sector partners to understand their CRM systems, and develop automated submissions that ensure compliance with statutory requirements. Beyond compliance, the postholder will position Rethink Mental Illness as a sector thought leader by creating a replicable model that enables voluntary sector data to be integrated into national reporting – an ambition that has not yet been achieved elsewhere.

The Role

What will I be doing?

• Managing a portfolio of public engagement events, including the delivery of the summer exhibition in Dublin each year and public engagement events across NI, Scotland and Wales
• Working with colleagues from across the organisation, particularly those in the Membership and National teams to support member led or member involved approaches to public engagement, with members supported and enabled to deliver appropriate activities that impactfully contribute to the IOP’s strategic goals.
• Support the development of public engagement content that demonstrates the value of physics and its applications to our lives and the full range of career and education pathways that can be accessed through doing physics
• Support the evaluation of Public Engagement Events to ensure the ongoing improvement pf our programme

Please note that this role will require significant travel around the UK and Ireland to deliver its remit. We particularly welcome applications from outside London and the South East of England with this in mind.

You will be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, and able to adapt your approach to ensure both excellent supporter experiences and the achievement of campaign KPIs. Experience with CRM systems (especially Microsoft Dynamics), international charities or humanitarian aid, managing print campaigns, or delivering stewardship events would be an advantage.

Personally, you will bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and build strong relationships. About the role:

Battersea is entering an exciting phase of innovation and transformation as we embark on the first year of our new five-year strategy. With increased investment in income generation starting in 2025, we are expanding our team to drive the growth necessary to achieve our organisational goals. Main purpose of the role:

This is a new role working within Battersea’s Income Generation department to develop and deliver the campaign plan for a £4-6million pound capital fundraising appeal.

One of the key pillars of Battersea’s current strategy is to ensure that we continue to provide expert care for all the dogs and cats that come through our gates. One of the ways in which we do this is by investing in our facilities to ensure that they continue to meet the changing needs of the animals we care for. This fundraising campaign will help to achieve that aim.

You will work with teams across Battersea to develop a comprehensive plan for the campaign and co-ordinate the work of multiple specialist teams to deliver the campaign on a day-to-day basis. You will also be responsible for developing a clear governance structure for the campaign, and ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed of progress. You will also oversee and track progress of a series of internal process improvements that support the running of the campaign.

Please note, this is not a direct fundraising position, but will support our fundraising teams in delivering ambitious financial targets for the appeal.

The Centre for Progressive Change is looking for a Safe Sick Pay Campaign Director that will be part of the newly formed Executive Team. The Centre for Progressive Change (CPC) is an organisation that builds campaigns for national policy change in the UK. Our focus is on making progressive gains that improve the lives of low- and middle-income communities. We have an exciting opportunity for a highly organised marketeer to join Cancer Research UK's Marketing Planning Team to play a key role in supporting our audience-led marketing strategy and planning function. Using your integrated marketing expertise, you will take a centralised view across our marketing, audiences, channels, and performance to ensure all activity is insight led, balanced, well-timed and has maximum impact. You will act as a central point to consult closely with marketing agencies and internal stakeholders on campaigns and activity to ensure optimal strategic alignment and fully integrated planning. You will also support the annual marketing planning process in setting overarching marketing objectives, key performance indicators, forecasts, and budgets, translating these into an all-channel strategic brief for the cross-portfolio marketing plan, alongside campaign briefs. To be successful you must have a strong understanding of fully integrated end-to-end marketing campaigns and enjoy working with a range of stakeholders across a wide variety of projects.

What will I be doing?

• Supporting the annual marketing planning process in setting overarching marketing objectives, key Performance Indicators, forecasts and budgets; translating these into an all-channel cross-portfolio marketing plan

• Consulting with agencies and internal teams on paid marketing campaigns and activity to ensure optimal strategic alignment and fully integrated campaign planning across, audiences, channels and products

• Working closely with the Commercial and Operations function to support the end-to-end marketing workflow including and managing key stakeholder and agency/supplier relationships

• Working closely with the Marketing performance team and wider marketing teams to gather actionable insight and learnings from past campaigns

• Analysing campaign results, evaluating performance against targets while spotting opportunities to optimise activity, innovate and increase efficiency

• Taking a future-facing view of marketing trends and developments as well as competitor activity, the consumer landscape and data insight to ensure Cancer Research UK's marketing and communications stay ahead of the curve and are data and insight driven.

What skills are we looking for?

• Strong understanding of paid media channels; Audio Visual, Out Of Home, Digital with a particular focus on Paid Search and the role of the different channels in integrated campaign planning. You will also have experience working in an Agency environment.

• Excellent project management and communication skills with experience of managing and improving priority workstreams involving multiple teams and stakeholders.

• Media planning expertise and experience delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns across a broad portfolio.

• Experience of leading communications to manage and motivate suppliers and agencies to drive maximum value from relationships.

• Relevant experience of building positive working relationships and influencing others and working effectively as part of a matrix team.

• Commercially aware with budget management experience.

• Awareness of direct marketing channels and their role in the end-to-end marketing journey.

We have TWO opportunities for a Digital Products Manager responsible for the development, delivery and improvement of our digital products. You will lead work on our website, microsites and other platforms, ensuring they meet the needs of our user communities and support the MND Association’s strategy. The Digital Products Manager will work with colleagues, agencies and suppliers to design, optimise and manage digital platforms that are secure, accessible and engaging.

The Digital Products Manager will elevate impact through user-focused digital solutions. You’ll lead the development of digital products, platforms and tools that support our commitment to accelerating research breakthroughs, improving access to personalised care, and strengthening partnerships that support people living with MND. 

We are recruiting for two roles within:

• Research and Services & Partnerships
• Income Generation and Engagement

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the Association’s digital product portfolio, including websites, microsites and third-party platforms
• Lead a programme of continuous improvement with our digital agency to deliver the best experience for our digital audiences
• Scope new products, map user journeys and enhance existing services to design or optimise digital experiences
• Advise on the procurement of new third party digital platforms and technology
• Translate business and user requirements into technical specifications and user stories
• Ensure compliance with security and accessibility standards
• Ensure all content is produced to SEO best practice and work with our digital agencies to improve website content
• Use data, analytics and usability testing to improve user experience and journeys
• Manage Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, producing insights and identifying opportunities for development
• Support colleagues with training, guidance and communities of practice

About You:

• Technical skills in Drupal CMS and Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Experienced across the full product lifecycle with knowledge of team roles and documentation
• Strong understanding of user-centred design, user journeys and testing
• Awareness of best practice and emerging trends in digital technology
• Broad knowledge of accessibility principles and tools to support inclusive design
• Confident using audience insight, data and analytics to inform decisions
• Able to manage competing priorities and balancing multiple projects

Role Summary

As Fundraising Manager at Caring in Bristol, you will lead the growth of unrestricted income across individual and major donor as well as overseeing our corporate, and community fundraising. You’ll create and deliver inspiring campaigns, optimise donor journeys, and ensure excellent supporter stewardship. The role includes responsibility for team leadership, and database management, with a focus on generating new income streams and maintaining compliance. Your strong communication and data skills will help drive the charity’s positive impact for Bristol’s communities

About the role 

This new role of Fundraising Manager at Caring in Bristol is vital to the development of unrestricted income.  As a charity we rely on the generosity of the communities of Bristol, from individuals to businesses, community organisations to educational facilities.  The postholder will create and deliver innovative fundraising campaigns and supporter communications that engage and inspire supporters, maximise donor retention, and increase lifetime value. 

The role will be responsible for the growth of income from Individual Donors and Major Donors, and oversee Community and Corporate income.  Working with the Head of Fundraising you will also scope out and help to implement potential new income generation opportunities.

Individual Giving  

You will help shape and take ownership of implementing our individual giving strategy in line with organisational fundraising goals, creating and delivering individual giving appeals, designing and optimising donor journeys, and ensuring all supporter communications are engaging and effective. By leveraging an analytical approach to data segmentation, you will deliver highly targeted and relevant donor experiences. 

The role will lead on our use of our CRM system (Donorfy) ensuring supporter’s data is collected effectively and used in compliance with data protection legislation. You will champion the use of Donorfy, making sure it is being used to its full potential. 

With this data you will manage segmentation, using a targeted approach to ensure we optimise the return on investment of our appeals and fundraising activities. 

Additionally, you will manage our Gift Aid process to ensure both compliance and maximised income and oversee meaningful engagement with individual givers - ensuring all supporters are acknowledged in a timely, personalised manner and provided with tailored marketing materials at key intervals. 

Major Donors  

A key aspect of the role is designing and executing effective cultivation and stewardship plans for both current and prospective major donors, ensuring relationships are nurtured over time. You will also work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Board members, mobilising their involvement to foster and strengthen connections with our most significant supporters. 

You will develop and deliver tailored fundraising campaigns for major donors, manage and update the major donor database, and conduct thorough research to identify new prospects, preparing insightful briefing notes and supporting materials. 

Line Management and Reporting  

You will line-manage, support and develop the Corporate & Community Coordinator and Fundraising Assistant, providing effective leadership in the development of our proposition to organisations and supporters. 

You will support the development and effective implementation of fundraising plans, helping the Head of Fundraising to ensure that all strategies align with our organisational goals. 

You will be tasked with supporting the reporting from the department around particular income streams, these reports will be both financial and non-financial, detailing the work of the department and progress against targets.

About You 

You’ll have excellent communications skills, be an adept writer, a warm and engaging individual with solid fundraising experience and knowledge of Individual Giving and Major Donor Fundraising.  You will also have a keen eye for detail. 

You will provide our donors and supporters with ‘Wow’ moments, giving them a feeling of importance and that their support is making a difference to some of Bristol’s most vulnerable people.  Our supporters make our work possible and they should feel that!
