We’re looking for an experienced Communications and Campaigns Officer to join a busy multidisciplinary communications team. You’ll play a key role in shaping and actioning our approach to communications and campaigns both internally and externally.
Working with a supportive team, you’ll work collaboratively across the Foundation to help us deliver on our new strategy, working on large multi-channel communications campaigns and events, commissioning and coordinating content, and delivering internal comms.
This is a varied role where you’ll work closely with the team, freelancers, charities and the people and communities they support to understand what they do. You’ll work as part of a team to deliver creative campaigns, and plan engaging content that reaches our key audiences, internally and externally.
You’ll be joining us at an exciting time as we lay the foundations of our new strategy as an organisation and deliver on our new comms strategy. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape our comms and deliver on key projects.

The PR and Communications Manager will explore innovative methods to promote the brand and its activities to the right audiences through targeted campaigns, significantly contributing to the fundraising efforts of the organisation. Responsibilities to Include:
PR & Media
· Enhance the charity’s profile among targeted audiences through strategic PR activities and diverse media channels, both B2C and B2B.
· Proactively cultivate, build and maintain relationships with media partners at local, regional, and national levels in both trade and consumer media, including print, online, and broadcast platforms, as well as with individual journalists.
· Write compelling and clear press releases, blogs, articles, and statements to effectively communicate our messages.
· Respond promptly to press enquiries for comments, views, and supporting information, and maximise opportunities for further engagement on relevant topics.
· Support the fundraising team by highlighting partner stories, managing PR efforts, and supporting events.
· Lead the pursuit of media-related funding opportunities, such as The Times and Sunday Times Christmas Appeal and corporate opportunities like BGC and ICAP days.
· Manage nominations for relevant awards to gain recognition and support for the charity.
· Pursue and implement strategic media partnerships to enhance visibility and outreach.
· Work with the Chief Executive to liaise with Her Majesty, The Queen’s press office when applicable, particularly on key events
Content Creation & Storytelling
· Gather and write compelling stories to share our impact with funders, supporters and media through interviews our families, ensuring brand compliance and accessibility.
· Ensure consent is obtained and materials are stored securely in line with GDPR and privacy policy.
Celebrity and Talent Management
· Strategically manage our ambassador programme, keeping our mission prominent and visible, including securing new patrons and ambassadors
· Build authentic relationships with a network of celebrities and influencers to champion our cause.
· Create memorable moments and engaging content with famous supporters that resonate with audiences.
· Ensure our values and vision are highlighted in every celebrity collaboration.
Communications
· Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive Communications plan that aligns with our mission and goals and marketing and brand work, maximising the impact of planned activities
· Ensure our story is told in the most compelling way by collaborating with our Programmes team, Roald Dahl Nurses, and their patients and families to create evidence-based, impactful case stories, imagery, videos, and films.
· Create and deliver both long-term and annual communications strategies, addressing local, regional, and national activities.
· Handle crisis communications professionally and efficiently, maintaining the charity’s reputation.
· Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners (including funders) to ensure consistent and effective communication across all channels.
· Track and evaluate the effectiveness of communications activities and campaigns, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
· Work with Director of Fundraising and Communications and Brand and Marketing manager to lead the creation, development, and implementation of impactful awareness and fundraising campaigns that amplify our messages, expand our reach, drive growth, and maximise income generation

· Develop and manage effective relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders, including supporters and trustees, media, other charities, companies, and healthcare professionals.
Teamwork & Administration
· Analyse communications quarterly, preparing information for the trustee sub-committees with up-to-date coverage examples to share with the team and Board.
· Monitor and share relevant charity and media with the wider team and Trustees
· Keep shared drive and CRM (Beacon) records up to date.
· Participate in team meetings across fundraising, programmes, and communications.

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing and delivering the Society’s communications strategy to enhance its visibility, influence, and engagement with key audiences. Person Specification
Essential Skills
- Significant experience in a communications role, ideally within a professional body, academic institution, or non-profit organisation.
- Excellent written and editorial skills, with the ability to produce compelling, accurate, and audience-appropriate content across different formats and channels.
- Strong skills in managing digital platforms, including websites (e.g. WordPress), email marketing tools (e.g. Mailchimp), and social media (e.g. LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube).
- Proven ability to develop and implement communication plans, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Experience in applying and maintaining brand identity across a wide range of communications outputs.

About the Role: We wish to appoint a Social Media Coordinator to join our small Communications and Engagement team. This is an exciting opportunity to increase the engagement of the Diocese of Winchester through digital media channels.
You will be responsible for sharing the life of the diocese and positive content about Christian faith through social media with particular relation to sharing news and stories about the 2025 Bid for national funding (awarded by the national church to dioceses to support them to undertake transformational programmes aimed at revitalising mission and ministry and growing the Kingdom of God in terms of numbers of worshippers and depth of faith).

Job Summary
- Developing the diocese’s social media presence on its current platforms – Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn– developing content and campaigns according to an annual content plan which incorporates all church seasons, awareness days, liturgical events, as well as sharing the key messages and events from the Diocese particularly in relation to the 2025 Bid for national funding.
- Working closely with the Comms team, Strategic Development team and senior staff to identify stories and examples of good ministerial practice and creative ideas that can be communicated with our wider diocesan community through social media, fostering a culture of information and ideas sharing across the diocese.
- Being part of wider strategic conversations to consider the role of social media in how the diocese can effectively communicate information about the Bid process and how benefices can engage with it, particularly in communicating with children, youth and families and youth leaders.
- Assist with the development of a strategic plan which grows the diocesan presence on new platforms, such as TikTok and BlueSky, with the specific aim of generating content that reaches younger audiences and that is more missional and ‘gospel-centred’, keeping up to date with online trends.
- Working closely with Mission and Ministry Team to communicate their training and events in ways tailored to younger audiences, and building collaborative networks of young people and youth leaders and comms people around the diocese who will share our content.
- Equipping our parishes with digital skills in using social media through training, getting them started on appropriate platforms and advising them on content and strategy to connect with existing and new audiences, as part of a suite of interventions offered as part of the 2024 Bid for funding and aligning with aims to help our diocesan community grow younger and more diverse.
- Using online tools in data analysis, reporting on social media engagement, and scheduling tools such as Buffer.
- Engaging with other social media users within and outside our community, including regularly interaction with parishes and diocesan communities, sharing their stories and commenting, replying to messages and queries, and being an ambassador for the diocese and our Christian faith and values.
- Ensuring our social media platforms allow stakeholders to provide comments and feedback on all that we do and to create a culture of shared ownership and storytelling.

In this role, you will be an integral member of the Events and Community Fundraising Team. You will work closely with a team of field-based colleagues providing support, ensuring the growth of income and development of long-term relationships with supporters.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the Community Fundraising team, with administration as well promoting fundraising products and campaigns, providing an inspiring supporter journey to our fundraisers, and handling and reporting on data.

Job Purpose
This role plays a key part in the delivery of Operation Smile UK’s retention programme, generating income and retaining existing cash and regular giving donors. About this role
The Communications and Media Officer, part of SPANA’s Communications and Campaigns team, creates high-quality content and drives impactful communications to support the charity’s mission and raise the profile of working animals in the global news agenda.
The role involves producing engaging written, digital and visual content across multiple platforms, ensuring consistency with SPANA’s brand and messaging. Contract, location and salary
